I would like my lights to turn on in the evening, turn off during the night, then on again in the early mornings when we’re awake. Also, update the app for more lightshows. There’s only 4 prebuilt lightshows. The app is a horrible user experience, the error message doesn't make sense. It says to make sure hub is turned on and connected through the app to my wifi - yet nowhere do I connect it to my wifi. It doesn’t specify a dual path router and 2.4 wifi - even with these technical requirements - nothing. I’ve tried changing routers redownloading the app, trying a new hub and it won’t work. Canadian tire needs to get on Gemmy about fixing things. It worked fine the previous two seasons I’ve had it. I realize Canadian Tire doesn’t own the app, but they should be insisting that Gemmy fixes and maintains it given they still sell the Noma smart lights. The RGB settings are completely wrong in get app and as another user pointed out there is no way to select any of the calibrated preset colours. ### 1/5 — Horrible lights *2024-10-07, version 1.1.5* These are the worst lights I have owned. Rarely connects to the app and when it does I have to open and close the app a few times first. I have 2 strands together and they are supposed to be grouped to turn on and off together. Never works. I have to go unplug them when I want them off which defeats the purpose of smart lights. One single bulb also randomly turns on at various hours of the day. ### 3/5 — Basic but functional *2023-12-18, version 1.1.5* App isn’t that easy to use or visually pleasing but there’s a few light show themes to choose from and you can make your own displays although it’s a bit of a pain, it can be done. Very temperamental works well 10% of times. Hasn’t been updated in two years. Second what should I have to buy a hub when your first generation didn’t require it? I have SEVERAL strings of lights which cost me close to $1,000 and even basic functions no longer work. Cannot change themes. Wifi is 3 feet from the lights and has full strength with a mesh system. Noma has no excuses left. They havent even updated security of the app to protect it from hacks in over a year. Even have router wifi set to 2.4, not sterring wifi with both, this needs to know pacific ones... Easy to set up and great products with impressive range of smart options! ### 5/5 — Lightshow Director! *2019-10-16* The NOMA Advanced Christmas app is an AWESOME app! It is easy to use and the controls are very intuitive. It’s a powerful tool that allows me to be the director of my Christmas lights. Well I guess I can’t call them just Christmas lights because I can now use them for any season due to the plethora of great colors and patterns that are available. I have a lot of parties at my house and these lights are perfect to use year-round because you can control the bulb color and the viewing pattern. I will use them for Halloween and use an orange slow blinking color pattern. I can leave them up for Thanksgiving and use an orange, brown, yellow and red color pattern. Instead of taking the light down, I will keep the lights up and use for Christmas! I can then also use them for New Years, Valentine’s Day, St Patrick’s Day, and the 4th of July. Very versatile!!! The lights are easy to connect to the app. Just connect to power, start the pairing process in the app, and enter the Wi-Fi password. The lights are discovered and then they appear in the app. One feature that I love is that you can name the light string and add them to a group. That group can then be controlled so that colors and patterns can be assigned to the entire group of lights. I have 2 groups with 5 light strings in each of group. One set is in the front of my house and the other set is hung up on my back patio. The other amazing thing is that these lights can be controlled with Google Home or Alexa. I can change the color of the light with voice commands and they response very quickly!
