I have no issues with my phone because I am on T-Mobile and have data almost everywhere. I use Nomad as a backup. It works very well. The issues I have is with the eSIM plan for my iPad. Because of the business model of auto-loading a nuisance 100mb add-on to the purchase of an eSIM, you either have to watch extremely carefully when to 100mb activates to buy an add-on with your perk discount. Otherwise, you have to buy a new eSIM and the nuisance 100mb add on is applied automatically. It is a good business model for the company, but a lousy one for customers because you never get to enjoy the massive add on discount. ### 2/5 — No 5Gig *2026-08-19, version 10.18.0* Bought 5 Gigabytes , in less than 2 day was gone! My T-Mobile 5 Gigabytes take almost 5 days ! Much better pay a little more and have you data for more days. I don’t recommend Nomad! On some monthly country dependent plans it’s only 4g but for my needs it’s sufficient. Always a pain for me to go to a cell provider and get their tourist plan. Currently I just have a data option where I’m at which is fine because everyone uses WhatsApp anyway. The prices are so reasonable I even load my backup phone. I can turn on my USA provider should I need my regular number or sms verification for something then turn it back off. It didn’t work at Shanghai Airport, but about 10 minutes after leaving the airport, I got a connection. Since then, everything has worked perfectly — WhatsApp and other European messaging apps, YouTube, email and Google. All good! Esims are super easy to install, and the customer support and refund policy are helpful and fast. Don’t buy it. ### 1/5 — Absolute garbage app – Left me stranded with zero support! *2026-08-23, version 10.18.0* This terrible app lost connection right in the middle of the city, leaving me completely stranded with no way to call a ride or buy a train ticket. To make matters worse, customer support was utterly useless. While I was struggling with a weak connection, they kept demanding screenshots instead of actually helping. The "solution" they provided literally made things worse—dropping my signal from E to 0 bars. Then, while I was completely offline, they just unilaterally closed the chat on me! If you are thinking about downloading this app, DON'T. I subscribed for their subscription during my last trip, however they make it extremely difficult to cancel the subscription, they knowingly do this so they can keep charging your card. I explained that I was desperate as I had to leave the airport soon, where I was relying on the airport Wi-Fi to contact them, otherwise I would be charged more for my car. Despite the service not working, they refused to issue a refund and simply stated that the eSIM was non-refundable. Really disappointing experience, especially considering how much time I spent trying to resolve the issue with customer service.
