## What is Nook Chat?

Nook is a place for friends to talk. Make a space, send the invite link, and talk in text channels, voice and video calls, and screen share.

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
Your device encrypts your messages, files, names and settings before it sends them. Our servers keep data that they cannot read. Calls go between devices, encrypted, and Nook does not record them.

NO EMAIL, NO PHONE NUMBER
Pick a name and start. Your account is a key on your device. Add a passkey or a recovery key to use it on your other devices.

SPACES FOR YOUR PEOPLE
- Text channels with replies, threads, reactions, GIFs, emoji, pictures and videos.
- Voice channels: join with one tap, turn on your camera, or share your screen.
- Direct messages.
- Templates for friends, gaming groups, study groups, clubs, teams, creators and families.
- Levels for owners, admins and moderators, who can delete messages and remove or ban people.
- Notifications that our servers cannot read.

RUN YOUR OWN SERVER
Anybody can run a Nook server. Join a space on your own server, or on ours.

No ads. We do not sell your data, and we do not track you.
