The variety of modes (Decks, Shuffle, daily voting) is excellent, and the movie‑rating and acting‑star features are genuinely fun. The avatar system is a nice touch as well — expanding that selection over time would be great. From a usability and pacing standpoint, there are a few areas where improvements would significantly enhance the player experience: 1) Time limits feel too restrictive. Reading multiple questions and answering them all within 30 seconds is difficult for many players. Increasing the time window or adjusting pacing would make levels feel more fair and accessible. 2) Drag‑and‑drop controls slow down gameplay. A tap‑to‑select option for answers would reduce friction and help players use their limited time more efficiently. 3) The timer continues running between questions. When transitioning from one question to the next, the clock doesn’t pause, which reduces available answer time and adds unnecessary pressure. These adjustments would make the game feel smoother and more balanced without changing its core challenge. A film’s performance at the box office is the last thing on my mind. It’s unnecessary, especially when there are those who adjust for inflation. There has to be a better way to dictate popularity of a film besides the money it did or did not make. For instance: whether or not a film achieved cult status or something. There are films that didn’t make money when they first released, but were deemed classics years afterward. I don’t know, it’s just a thought… ### 2/5 — This app is broken. *2025-10-04, version 1.0.26* This app is broken. In more ways than one. A few times I saw a picture, guessed the right movie, and it said incorrect. Then it said the answer was a wrong movie. Another way is, occasionally having the same movie title twice in the multiple choice. Third and final, and this is less frequent, it’ll show a movie photo. I’ll choose the right movie for the photo. It’ll say it’s wrong, but say something not even related to the question. A romcom photo appeared, I chose the correct movie, and when it said I was wrong…it said I had chosen the wrong highest grossing movie, and that the answer was Avengers: Endgame. The question wasn’t “What’s the highest grossing movie?” But also, Avengers: Endgame isn’t the correct answer anymore. I know I saw this app updated as recently as a month ago, but bugs like these are why I’ve never used this app more than a few minutes since its inception. ### 2/5 — Fine *2025-09-19, version 1.0.26* It's an okay game, but it's not very well made. The time will say 30 seconds but really it's 30 seconds minus however long it takes for each little animation to finish. Some posters will have the answers to the question on them. It’s very user friendly. HOWEVER, sometimes the correct answer isn’t an option, 50% of the time it doesn’t say what the answer is when you get it wrong (it displays nothing), and when it doesn’t give said answer it displays trivia for a different movie. This is a cash grab, not an actual trivia game. ### 4/5 — Great but the Marketplace is Broken *2025-02-21, version 1.0.20* As a cinephile, I love taking these pop quizzes in my free time, but the marketplace is down at the moment and there isn’t really a reward if it isn’t up. Please try fixing this as soon as possible! I got to Level 5, and that has stayed the same. The problem is my progress has completely reset on all of the name that movie map quests, which are my favorite mode to play. FALSE ADVERTISEMENT ### 3/5 — Fun game but terrible support *2024-01-12, version 1.0.20* First time leaving a review but I feel like my opinions need to be said. This game is super fun if you like trivia and are also a movie buff. But I have some major complaints! Since I started playing months ago I’ve noticed that there are times that I don’t receive popcorn that I’ve won. I’ve contacted the Noovie support and they’ve been good about adding popcorn that I’ve earned but I feel like I shouldn’t have to keep constantly emailing them every time I don’t receive the popcorn that I’ve earned. They’d be getting an email almost every week which is inconvenient on both ends. Also…my biggest gripe is something that happened just recently. One day I opened up the app and a connection error popped up. After I closed it several things happened. It reset me back to Level 1, I lost all my popcorn and all my avatars that I earned and paid for with my hard earned popcorn. All of my progress, achievements and friends list were still there tho. I contacted the support team again and explained what happened. They replied back and claimed that I was cheating and that I earned like 80,000 popcorn in 15 min. Which is ridiculous! I don’t even know how to do that! Plus why would I waste my time hacking some random app! I enjoy earning popcorn the hard way! So I replied back saying that I didn’t cheat and that I didn’t notice any major increase in my popcorn. I even told them that I didn’t even care about getting my popcorn back. I just wanted to get back to the Level i was on and to get my avatars back! I worked hard to get the Iron Man Gauntlet! Which costs 999,999 popcorn by the way. After that I haven’t gotten any reply back. I used Facebook to log in and I keep getting an error when I try to log in. Don’t know how to fix. Don’t want to start over. I love this game. I love movies and trivia so it’s a match made in heaven. It doesn’t freeze or glitch enough for it to be a problem. It saves your place so just relaunch it and you’re back to the trivia. My only complaint is that I don’t get rewarded enough popcorn so I can’t play as much as I want to. “Name that movie” quest cost A LOT of popcorn to continue playing, but rewards for winning is very low. There’s also no option to buy the popcorn. That said, when you finish the Name that movie” trivia categories you can’t play anymore. You have to play shuffle mode which also rewards you very low amounts of popcorn. With that being said, I cannot get enough of Noovie Trivia! I’ll be honest, at first I thought it would be a game with “gotcha” mechanics, and if you get to a certain level it would force you to subscribe or buy in game currency to move forward. Well, this was definitely not the case. There are various games to earn points to move forward, and claiming your rewards to earn even more to advance further. A lot of movie trivia games I’ve come across can be so outdated, only listing somewhat recent and older titles. Noovie Trivia is completely up to date with their catalog of questions, I’ve come across several questions of movies released this year alone. I love that they have so many different trivia game types and daily challenges, not just multiple choice questions for every single question. Even though I just came across this trivia game over the weekend, I still can’t believe I’m just finding out about it now. I’m blown away that it’s completely free, with zero ads. I haven’t put it down since I downloaded it. If you’re a movie buff like me, and likes to strengthen your movie knowledge Noovie Trivia is where it’s at! Note to the developers: Thank you for putting out such a great trivia game that is up to date with current movie titles! It’s probably the best movie trivia game I’ve had the privilege to play on my phone. Your hard work and dedication really shows, and you can see how much love and attention to detail you’ve put into this game. I really love the trivia facts after each question too, really awesome touch! Thanks again, I’ve shared it with almost 10 people already!
