The method had been tested thoroughly and it works! Give it a try and see for yourself!!"*** Learn the names and locations of all the countries and territories in North America with this app that beautifully complements the geography materials used in the Montessori Classroom! In Lesson 1 learn the names and locations of the North American Countries: Touch a country in the filmstrip to change the featured country on the page. Touch the speaker button to hear the correct pronunciation of the country name and touch the compass button to see the country highlighted on the map! The map itself follows the same color scheme used for the physical materials in the Montessori classroom. In Lessons 2, 3 & 4 assemble the complete North American puzzle map with pieces that are exact replicas of the physical Montessori materials: In the first puzzle map lesson children have to look for the country puzzle piece that is blinking on the map. When they touch the correct piece it will move into position on the map and the country name can be heard aloud. In the second puzzle map lesson children have to look for the country puzzle piece that corresponds to the name shown at the top. For children who cannot read, the country name at the top can be touched to hear the name aloud for them to know which one to look for. In the third puzzle map lesson children can freely drag and place the country pieces to the map. When the bring the puzzle pieces to the right position they will snap into place and the name of the country is heard aloud. This app is done as a puzzle map of North America. This app has several options of how to build the puzzle; by name, by shape or like a regular puzzle. It has options to either tap or drag the pieces into place. There is an informative part that tells the name and location of each country. This app is great for both Montessorians and non-Montessorians. This app should have the tap or drag options that the USA puzzle has. ### 5/5 — This is great! But… *2015-07-09* Both my 3 year old and I love this app, but I have found two issues with the map: 1) In the 'Puzzle Map (Drag & Place)' the piece for El Salvador is either missing or hidden. 2) It appears that you have not included St. Pierre et Miquelon ### 3/5 — Not all countries included *2012-07-28* Beautiful app, though not all countries are included. We live in Bermuda and my son was hopeful that we'd see our country included. What a disappointment! Though Bermuda is small, it's no less important to document than anywhere else. From an educational standpoint (I am a Montessori teacher), I consider this an incomplete resource. With many other small countries included, I'm not sure why Bermuda (and some Caribbean countries) were neglected. Please take the time to provide a thorough resource for children. ### 2/5 — Overpriced *2011-06-24* "Lession" 1 is just a textbook. Lessons 2 and 3 can only be played once or twice. After that, the child will start memorizing the position of the puzzle part rather than on the map. (This, BTW, could be easily fixed by radomly generating the positions of the puzzle pieces. Or at least randomizing the sequenze in which they have to be tapped.) Second problem: You can't distinguish the tiny countries and territories from each other.
