Tried booking a cab yesterday multiple times and it just times out. Incredibly frustrating experience, especially after travelling in the US last weekend seamlessly using Uber and Lyft. Looks like it hasn’t been updated in ten months so you get an idea how much they care about this app..... ### 1/5 — Misleading wait times. *2019-11-02, version 3.3.2* Says cab 4 minutes away. 40 mins later no taxi. ### 1/5 — Don’t even try *2019-10-27, version 3.3.2* This app is terrible! Release notes only mention Samsung updates. Total low budget garbage produced by some terrible vendor trying to pretend that cab companies are even trying. Oh. It also doesn’t result in a cab showing up, if that sounds like I’m picking on the tech details too much. Sort it out BC. Uber may not be the worlds best practice company we want, but we need them to force crap like this to be shown as unacceptable. Overall slightly less useful than standing on the street with your thumb in the air. It does not work with autofill or password manager. It will not even reset a password after trying twice. I used it once and the taxi was a no show. I gave up waiting and called and after being on hold spoke to a dispatcher. I was told that the app doesn’t actually work and is separate from the real dispatch system and that someone must have missed seeing the email request. So don’t waste your time with this service. ### 1/5 — Pre-booking is misleading *2023-09-03, version 22.3.0* Prebooked a wheelchair taxi one hour in advance. At the requested pick-up time, my request was then submitted. 30 minutes in and still “searching for a driver”. On hold with the office (20min) to see if I can get someone to pick us up. ### 1/5 — This is why taxis are failing *2023-04-07, version 22.3.0* Booked a taxi to take a ride to downtown traffic was no more than usual driver said it would take two hours and to the long way to avoid it. What the? Terrible service. If they called a few hours in advance I could have made alternate arrangements, and I would have understood. Total lack of respect and I’ll not use them again. ### 1/5 — No show *2020-01-22, version 4.2.1* I booked a taxi via the app to the airport 24 hours in advance to make sure it would be there on time and the taxi didn’t show up. When I called to ask where by taxi was they advised there are no cars in the area and that I shouldn’t have used the app as it doesn’t work. This was dispute the fact that they are heavily This is completely unacceptable if you book a car via the app in advance you expect that they have booked the car. There was no phone call so had I not called we would not have even been made aware. ### 1/5 — Complete joke *2020-01-20, version 4.2.1* I have to tell you this attempt at modern ride hailing is terrible. I have used this app on at least three previous occasions (given no alternative) and the driver never showed up! This even though I had scheduled pick up many hours in advance. After no one showed and after waiting for at least 10 minutes after the scheduled time I called NS Taxi. I was rudely told by some dispatcher that she had absolutely no record of any scheduled pick up. When I told her I had a booking reference number from the app she said she had no idea what that was and had no access to the online service. The service I receive from North Shore Taxi is consistently really poor and unreliable. ### 1/5 — How is this app approved on the App Store? *2019-12-25, version 3.3.2* Dear apple employees, As an app developer and customer of thousands of apps, this app is a disgrace on the App Store.. nothing works! The map system is a joke.. I’ve made map systems in half an hour which at least have proper departure and arrival detection on maps. This is just one of the many flaws. ### 1/5 — Absolutely awful *2019-12-20, version 3.3.2* Due to the bugs this app has, it couldn’t locate me, I couldn’t type in my address or my destination, and it actually DID send a cab when I did not want to order one, and could not order a cab when I wanted to. What a joke, utter trash. ### 1/5 — This defines bad *2019-12-14, version 3.3.2* The world’s worst app from the world’s worst cab company. “An innovation” - is really just a very bad copy of Uber and Lyft, which doesnt work. Try calling them - they take hours to answer and are sadly the most unhelpful people you’ve ever encountered. That’s what you get living ins region where most of the politicians are in the cab companies’ pockets, no Uber and no Lyft. Clearly I can schedule future trips. Wheel chair option is available on the booking page. In addition to app notifications about booking and arrival of the cab, I also get sms notifications on ETA and arrival. Best of all I can register my credit card and pay through the app. Love it!! ### 5/5 — Works for prescheduling *2019-09-21, version 3.3.2* I prescheduled an early morning taxi pickup and it worked perfectly. Cab was right on time and I had a very courteous driver. Only suggestion I have is to send an email or something confirming the booking. I did end up calling the dispatcher just to make sure they had my info. ### 5/5 — Finally! *2018-10-25, version 3.3.1* I found this app so difficult to work with prior to the update. There were several glitches that wouldn’t let me add my address. Now, they fixed everything and the app is so much easier to use. Seems stable. Picked up and dropped off at airport without a problem. ### 4/5 — Good but could be much better. *2019-09-22, version 3.3.2* The map says I live one block away from where I live. I always have to adjust it. If you save your address in the app, it takes a little time loading. But works eventually. Sometimes I have to close the app and start again because it’s taking too long to adjust. Sometimes multiple times. & When I cancel a taxi, it doesn’t cancel. Then I get an angry driver saying I should have canceled. I did, but the app didn’t register that I did. Also It would be nice to leave a note with my pick up address. When I add an address in and it’s not a known address, I get a call asking where I am. Like if I’m at a store waiting for example. Also a note section would be helpful if I have to use the app for another person in need, “guy waiting with brown coat, named Andrew” or whatever.
