It is convenient to use and make payments. Even more ideally it would be great to trade within the app. ### 5/5 — NWML review *2025-06-13* I’ve had long-term care and disability insurance through NWML for decades. I’m not a fan of insurance companies in general, but this one is an exception. It used to be called “the quiet company” which characterizes the way it prioritize service to customers over profit. I’ve been working with agent Chris Shouller and his assistant Kim Welsh the entire time and they have been wonderful. ### 4/5 — Cash Flow Tab *2025-05-09* This is a great app for an overview of total net worth. However, one change I would like to see is being able to create my own categories within the cash flow tab. This would allow myself to add more personalization when categorizing transactions as opposed to being forced to use the generic “other/uncategorized” option. I hope this feature can be implemented soon! ### 2/5 — I like the app, but… *2025-04-10, version 7.9.0* I’ve been using the app a little over a year, but just recently it started having this annoying glitch. I have 2 houses and both mortgages would update as I pay them off. Now it shows the same mortgage twice, which throws off my net worth by like $120k. I’m 71 years and I’m not scanning back to 1955 one month at a time. Then When I try I to open the app after the update it’s still stuck on “update needed” page and won’t let me login. I must spend $799 - $1,399 to purchase a new IPhone. NOT GOING TO DO IT!!!!! This is Apples way of blackmailing customers into upgrading their phones…. Where the old phone works perfectly fine!!!! COME ON NWM…. Called customer support whose only focus was the fact that my local credit union wouldn’t link even though accounts from Chase, Citi and Empower would not link. All information has to be entered manually. ### 1/5 — Janky *2024-08-29, version 6.16.0* Annoying disclaimer forfeiting your soul to log in and make a payment ### 1/5 — Account linking is a mess *2024-08-20* When every other app has figured out how to quickly and reliably connect external accounts, it’s actually impressive how bad Northwestern Mutual is at it. Bunch of accounts just won’t connect. Others connect but don’t stay connected. Forcing me to reauthenticate. Still others say they are connected but the data is months old and so clearly not refreshing. Completely undermines the point of the app other than a balance check for assets at NM. Even my NM advisor has to come to me to ask for balances at external accounts so he can do his job properly.
