## What is Noru?

You open Instagram to check one thing. You look up 40 minutes later. You didn't decide to scroll — you just were.

That's not a willpower problem. It's an awareness problem. And "ignore for today" won't fix it.

Noru puts a pause between you and the apps that pull you in. Not a wall — a mirror.

HOW IT WORKS
• Open a blocked app and Noru steps in first. Even the grayed-out icon reminds you it costs effort.
• Check in — pick how you're feeling: bored, anxious, procrastinating, tired, lonely. Naming it makes the reach-for-your-phone moment conscious.
• You decide. After a short pause, Noru steps aside. You open the app yourself — or you don't. Noru never opens it for you. The choice stays yours, every time.

SEE YOUR PATTERNS
Most blockers just lock the door. Noru remembers why you keep trying to open it. After a week, the Reflection tab shows which feelings drive your scrolling and which times of day are hardest. You might learn you're always bored at 3pm on Thursdays — something Screen Time can't tell you.

WHY IT ACTUALLY WORKS
Deleting the app fails — you reinstall it by tomorrow. Screen Time fails — "one more minute" is right there, and your thumb finds it without thinking. Noru is built on Apple's Screen Time (Family Controls) framework, so the shield holds. There's no bypass that doesn't ask you to check in first.
