It has most words. This is far more complete, with idiomatic phrases as well as individual words. It even recognizes verb tenses other than the infinitive--very helpful for beginners like me. And with a tap, you can hear every word pronounced by a native speaker. Look no further. Every field just said ‘null’. Worse than that was the complete lack of support from the developer. ### 2/5 — Pronunciation doesn't work *2020-09-08, version 1.12* Please fix it. No sounds come out that is too pity. ### 2/5 — Norwegian Dictionary *2016-09-30, version 1.12* While this Dictionary is free, it has a really aggravating and insidious policy of presenting adverts each time I run the app (except the first occasion). Now adverts are aggravating enough but the the only way of skipping the advert randomly changes its style and its location from advert to advert which means it can take extra time before I am back to the dictionary functions. Please, please, IF YOU MUST use adverts, put them in the same p,lace each time and allow me to continue to use the dictionary immediately. Another annoying quirk is that I must select the direction of translation first. Surely the app could search its database and display both translations where a word is the same in Norwegian and English. ### 2/5 — Hate the google banner ad! *2014-07-06, version 1.3* I have to pay $.99 to get rid of an annoying ad? Really? On top of it the voice for the translation into Norwegian sounds like a zombie. The vocabulary is huge, but it also needs articles on nouns so that you can tell if they are masculine, feminine or neuter. Needs work. ### 3/5 — Definitions are ‘null’ *2024-12-11, version 1.12* This has been a go-to dictionary for me while learning Norwegian. Now, I am not getting any definitions. Everything just says “null” after the word I’ve entered. Also, I am unable to contact support, so I’m hoping this will help. I’ll change my rating if this is fixed. ### 3/5 — Does not work with iOS 18 *2024-10-05, version 1.12* The app is good - not perfect, since there are many words missing from translation. BUT - after updating to iOS18 this app does no longer work Please fix this asap ### 3/5 — Pronunciation doesn’t work *2019-01-08, version 1.12* I got this app to supplement my study of Norwegian on Duolingo. It does a good job of translating words from one language to the other. However, the supposed feature of being able to tap to hear the word pronounced doesn’t work, at least I haven’t been able to get it to work. Maybe I am doing something wrong but no matter what I do I don’t get it to pronounce the words for me. When I try to access the app support by tapping on the link here, I get a “403 access denied” page. ### 3/5 — Too many adverts *2016-11-01, version 1.12* It's a great dictionary but there are too many adverts. Much greater scope than my last app and 99p to go ad free seems reasonable. The previous app I had allowed you to look up in both languages simultaneously. This was great as you did not need to choose the language first. There were also a few insights into common words to be learned along the way.
