Deleted and downloaded again and selected book to download. Stuck on select version with no option to select a version. A poor quality app that is not possible to use. ### 1/5 — Usless app *2025-09-02, version 3.2* Searched for recipes in the nosh for one book by name and not single one was found. Just asked me to buy other books. Major bug. There are no instructions for cooking in the app. Great for shopping for ingredients but now I can’t find the books. Talk about up a creek… ### 2/5 — Shame *2026-03-30, version 3.5* Really easy to follow recipes but while the app is not totally unusable, it’s not very well built and creating lists/Menus is a nightmare. If this was fixed the app would be 5/5 in my eyes ### 2/5 — Has potential but needs improvements *2026-03-22, version 3.5* This app combines well with the Nosh books, but has some really poor usability issues which shows it wasn’t user tested properly. When browsing recipes you can’t choose the section (snacks, main meals, desserts). Instead you have to scroll through the whole book or search manually. That’s not how people use books, so they won’t want to use the app that way. A common requirement would be gathering a collection of favourite recipes to return to. But there’s no way to add a recipe to favourites - all you can do is add to “menu”. This breaks the flow of using menu to organise your shopping list. Once a recipe is in your menu you can’t click to view it. Instead you have to go back and search for the recipe again. After menus have been added to the shopping list, there’s no indication of which ingredient belongs to which recipe. There’s also no way to remove a recipe from the shopping list - you’ll have to figure it out and do it manually. These are just the issues I encountered in the first ten minutes, but it’s enough to put me off using this app. Fix these things and improve the flow, and people will use it more. ### 2/5 — app doesn’t work *2025-01-05, version 3.2* upon downloading the app, i go to select my book and am asked to ‘choose your edition’ with the page being completely blank and no further instruction. it’s a shame because this app looks to be very useful with organisation for ingredients for a weekly shop, but i’m unable to use it through it’s intended purpose of downloading a book you own. ### 4/5 — App not downloading books *2024-02-17, version 3.2* When I try to download books onto the app, it just crashes so I can’t actually use the app unfortunately. ## Most praised reviews (6 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Brilliant! *2021-04-02, version 2.0.1* So great to have all the NOSH books in one handy place and the automated shopping list is a life saver! Highly recommend ### 5/5 — Great addition to Nosh range *2019-10-30, version 1.0.13* If you love Nosh cookbooks (if you haven’t checked them out I highly recommend them!) you’ll love this app. Modern, simple, well-thought out. Crisp photos, excellent search facility & great for meal planning and weekly shopping. And it’s FREE! What’s not to like?! ### 5/5 — Smashing app *2019-10-28, version 1.0.13* Although this doesn't give the method for cooking, it DOES give you browsing, ingredients and a shopping list facility. I happen to like that. If they gave the methods too they would never sell another book and I happen to think they're some of the best everyday cookbooks on sale. I've had a good play with this app so I know my way around now. Love them and thank you for a great little app. ### 5/5 — Perfect meal planning app *2019-10-26, version 1.0.13* I have a load of these books which are great as a busy mum and also as a Coeliac for gluten free recipes. Enables streamlined meal planning, budgeting and generates a handy shopping list. Intuitive to use with beautiful photographs of the food. It’s brilliant! ### 4/5 — Great great great but one problem *2021-06-03, version 2.0.1* This is a fantastic app that allows shopping to become a quick task. However, on several occasions I’ve noticed that it sometimes misses certain ingredients on the lists which can be crucial for a specific dish. This is quite annoying because, I have often started to prepare a dish only to find that I don’t not have everything required to make it.
