## What is Notable?

Notable is the voice memo app built for songwriters.

Capture the idea the moment it arrives, then do what no basic recorder can: shift the pitch of any recording up or down twelve semitones without changing its speed. Hear your melody in a different key, check how a part sits in another register, or find the right key for your voice — and with formant preservation, you still sound like you.

RECORD WITHOUT LOSING THE MOMENT
- One tap to record, with live markers: tap while recording to pin the exact second the good idea happened
- Optional stereo recording for a wide, natural room sound
- Record in AAC, or lossless WAV for takes that matter
- Recordings can be named after where you were when inspiration hit

FIND IT AGAIN
- Markers are draggable after the fact — press and hold to zoom in for precise placement
- Folders, favorites, and search keep a growing library organized
- Trim recordings down to just the good part

TAKE IT TO YOUR TOOLS
- Export a melody as MIDI, transcribed on your device
- Share lossless WAVs with your markers embedded — they import as session markers in Reaper, Pro Tools, Studio One, and Cubase
- Import your existing recordings: select them in the Voice Memos app, tap Share, and choose Notable

NEVER LOSE AN IDEA
- Automatic backup to your own private iCloud — lose your phone, keep your songs
- No accounts, no sign-up, and no servers of ours: your audio is yours, and we never see it

Notable collects no data. Everything runs on your device, and backups live in your personal iCloud where only you can reach them.

## Key features

Bug fixes and minor quality improvements

### 1.1 — 2026-08-15

• Record anywhere. Notable now keeps up with you.

• Keeps recording in the background — switch apps, lock your phone, put it in your pocket. Your take keeps rolling until you stop it.

• Live in your Dynamic Island & Lock Screen — see the recording timer at a glance, drop markers, and stop the take without opening the app.

• Record from your Home Screen — add the new Recorder widget for a one-tap record button, with marker and stop buttons right on the widget while you're rolling.

• Hey Siri, start a Notable recording — start, mark, and stop by voice, from Spotlight, or map them to the Action Button. A physical marker button, right on the side of your phone.

• Phone call mid-take? Covered. — if a call or Siri interrupts a recording, Notable saves everything captured up to that moment automatically. No more lost takes.

• Smarter location names — recordings made at the same spot now name consistently, and even a two-second idea gets a proper place name.
