## What is notchu?

Who fed the dog? Who gave medicine to the cat?
notchu is a shared care log for your pet. One tap logs a poop, a meal or a walk, and everyone looking after the pet gets a ping. No more "did you feed him?" texts.

MADE FOR THE WHOLE HOUSEHOLD
Invite your partner, the kids, a roommate or the sitter with a link. From then on you all share one log: what was done, when, and by whom. The Now screen shows how long ago each thing happened and turns a task DUE when it has been too long.

ONE TAP, EVERY PHONE
Poop, food, walk. Tap, done, everyone else knows. Add a note or a photo if there is something to say. Undo if you tapped by mistake. Pick the sound a ping makes on your phone, so you know it is the dog without looking.

WIDGETS AND SIRI
The tasks widget puts the three taps on the home screen, with the DUE mark, so logging never needs the app open. The medication widget shows the next dose. Hands full? "Hey Siri, log a walk in notchu" does it, and "When was the last poop in notchu" tells you.

QUIET WHEN YOU WANT
Turn off pings for what you do not care about, and set quiet hours so a late walk does not wake anyone.

HISTORY
Every entry, every day, in one place. Fix a time or a note after the fact.

READY FOR THE VET
Birthday, sex, breed and microchip number in one line on the Vet tab, so the reception questions are answered before they are asked.

YOUR PET, YOUR LOOK
Twelve portraits to pick from, dogs, cats, a rabbit, a guinea pig, a hamster, a budgie and a bearded dragon, or a photo of your own pet. Six looks for the app and its widgets: Lilac, Peach, Sage and Sky, or dark Midnight and Forest. All free.

YOUR DATA, YOUR ICLOUD
notchu has no accounts and no server. The log lives in your iCloud and is shared with the people you invite, through iCloud sharing. No tracking, no profiles, no ads.

NOTCHU PLUS
For the households that need more, one purchase covers everyone sharing the pet:

• Medication with dose times, reminders on every caregiver's phone until one of you marks it given, and its own widget.
• Your own tasks: pee, brushing, teeth, whatever your pet needs.
• Vet notes with the paperwork photographed, and a PDF of any period, with the pet's details on top, to bring to the vet or email ahead.
• Photos on your entries and vet notes.
• More caregivers beyond the first two: the kids, the sitter, the neighbour who feeds the cat.

Plus is available monthly, yearly with a free trial, or once for good. Family Sharing is supported.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.1 — 2026-10-25

The clocks went back, and our reminders went back with them. Sorted.

Fixes
• Dose reminders and Coming up reminders arrive at the time you set on the day the clocks change. They came an hour early when the clocks went back, and would have come an hour late in spring.

Same time, every time. Even the dog knows what 8:00 means /( O•O )\

### 1.2 — 2026-10-22

More pets, more hands, and a reminder for the next jab.

Several pets, one household
• Add another pet on the Us tab. Everyone in the household sees every pet, no new invite needed.
• Tap the pet's name on Now to switch between them.

Did it together
• Walked the dog as a pair? Hold the plus to log it together. Hold a dose to set when it was given and who was there.
• Whoever was with you doesn't get a ping for it. They were there.

Coming up, on the Vet tab
• Reminders for vaccinations, flea and tick, deworming and the next vet visit, with a due day and an optional repeat.
• Every phone in the household gets the reminder. Tick it off and it is kept as a vet note.
• Part of Plus.

Made for iPhone Duo
• Open it up and notchu uses both halves: your tasks on one side, and the medication, vet notes or today's summary for your pet on the other.

Fixes
• Holding a dose to change its time no longer also marks it given when you let go.
• Sheets opened from Settings and the editors slide in smoothly again.

Two pets, two people, one ping. Everybody gets a treat /( O•O )\

### 1.1.1 — 2026-10-10

Quieter, easier to read, and a few fixes.

One ping, not three
• Log a walk and a poop together, or two medications and a meal, and the other person now hears one notification. Anything logged within two minutes is folded into a single line, like "Igor logged walk and poop".
• Nudges still always sound.

Easier to read and use
• Bigger text works everywhere. Set a larger text size in your iPhone settings and every screen follows, up to more than twice the normal size.
• Reduce Motion is respected: no more bouncing or sliding if you have it turned on.
• Grey text is darker and easier to read in every look.
• VoiceOver and Voice Control can now remove a caregiver and set the time a dose was given.

Fixes
• The "Logged!" card now goes away after you correct the time.
• You can no longer set a time in the future for something you already did.
• Plus stays on for the whole household while a subscription renews.

Also new: the app counts a few anonymous milestones, such as "a pet was set up", so we can see where people get stuck. No names, no pets, nothing that identifies you. The privacy page has the details.

One ping, three treats. The math checks out /( O•O )\

### 1.1.0 — 2026-10-05

Here's what's new:
- Pick a sound for pings and dose reminders: Chime, Paws, Squeak or Collar, each phone its own.
- Mark a dose given straight from the reminder, on the lock screen or your Apple Watch.
- Your pet's details for the vet: birthday, sex, breed and chip number, on the Vet tab and at the top of the PDF. All optional, from Settings or the Vet tab.
- Smaller fixes and polish.

Tell your dog we said who's a good boy /( O•O )\

### 1.0.2 — 2026-10-01

Here's what's new in this version:
- Six looks, all free: Lilac, Peach, Sage, Sky, Midnight and Forest, on the widgets too.
- When the other person gives a dose, your reminder for it goes quiet.
- A small "Syncing…" pill and a "Just in" mark show when something arrives from the other phone.
- Fixes for notifications between two phones and a crash during the morning sync.

Tell your dog we said she's a good girl /( O•O )\
