### 4/5 — Review

*2026-03-08, version 5.2.0*

Pretty solid👍

### 3/5 — Moneybeggers

*2026-01-03, version 5.2.0*

Can’t even have a look at an app without paying. Disgusting!

### 4/5 — So much fun

*2025-08-07, version 5.1.4*

I’m having so much fun and of course I’m not going anywhere for a couple weeks so I’m going to try to keep playing and practicing

### 2/5 — Confusing purchase model

*2025-07-13, version 5.1.4*

I found the purchasing subscription model confusing. Within the apps, there’s several different options that don’t make intuitive sense. And I think they’re monthly or yearly subscriptions, but they are presented almost as if they are one time purchases. Even the trial was confusing as to what I had access to and what I didn’t.

### 2/5 — “Free” Trial is misleading

*2024-11-23, version 5.1.4*

I was trying out the app to see if it would be a good fit for my studio. When I do free trials, I always cancel right after I get it, so I don’t get charged if I forget to cancel. (If I really use the app, I can be reminded to renew, but forgetting to cancel is how they get you.) They offered a week free trial, so I subscribed. And I immediately cancelled it, only to find out that my card had already been charged for the monthly fee! That was not the agreement! So now I can’t even fairly judge the app because I’m salty about your business practices.

### 2/5 — Not very easy to use on mobile iPhone

*2024-07-08, version 5.1.4*

Not very easy to use on mobile iPhone

### 4/5 — Very Useful with Major Annoyance

*2024-04-12, version 5.1.3*

The sight reading exercises are well thought out and helpful. I'm using an IPad and the sizing of the notes on the screen is just right. It's obvious that the developer put some effort into creating this app.

Now for the major annoyance. While playing the exercises the screen will randomly change to a bird popping up and telling you that you have earned badges, and completely ruining one's concentration. Please tell me how I can stop this from happening! I am not a child and don't care about badges. Even if I were a child this would still be annoying.

### 4/5 — It’s pretty good

*2023-07-11, version 5.0.2*

I like the app, and it works well. One thing I don’t like is that any level above drill practice 1# you have to pay for.

### 3/5 — Feedback after a quick 3 minutes of playing.

*2022-11-29, version 5.0.2*

Feedback: I just played this app for a few mins. While playing Game Drills and having to find the correct note on the keyboard while seeing the note on the staff, when you turn the phone landscape, it expands the piano keyboard, but the grand staff isn’t fully shown. So when I have to choose the correct Bass Clef note, I’m unable to see which note it wants me to find. You should shrink the grand staff to accommodate it otherwise you can only see the Treble Clef and the very top portion of the Bass Clef.

You should also allow us to disable the microphone while using the virtual piano keyboard. There’s no need for a microphone while using that feature. It drains battery faster and it feels a little unsettling knowing that it’s listening when not needed.

I’m using an iPhone 14 Pro Max and was using the virtual piano keyboard, if it helps you to determine how to fix this. This is just my initial feedback, will update the review at a later time. 3 stars for now.

### 3/5 — Missing romantic notation’ bummer

*2022-03-07, version 4.2*

Do re mi notation is missing’ also app do not switch in portrait mode with usb plug on top (required for midi plug)

Otherwise, no other app is as good, bummer I can’t use it

### 3/5 — Can’t use without paying

*2022-02-04, version 4.2*

Cannot use or try without payment

### 3/5 — Expected more

*2021-06-01, version 4.1*

Has potential, extremely disappointed that there is only 2 octaves above and below middle C for piano. The reason I purchased was to help my more advanced students learn and memorize the the really low and high notes. There should be more options to set amount of time, arrange created levels etc. Purchasing was very confusing, too many options for buying and subscriptions.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — FREE?

*2026-04-20, version 5.2.0*

When I searched for “FREE” apps yours came up, I downloaded it only to find it wasn’t FREE. Get your meta data correct!

### 1/5 — Does not work

*2025-05-05, version 5.1.4*

App doesn’t work. Nothing appears

### 1/5 — Unimpressed

*2024-12-27, version 5.1.4*

Paid a tenner for whatever drill it’s called, app locked up, stuck on the page asking for money and totally unresponsive,

### 1/5 — how much?

*2024-08-30, version 5.1.4*

Your interface asks me to "click to buy subscription" before I know how much it will cost. That's unlikely. It appears to have advanced content, also available without specifying my cost. Am I missing it?

### 1/5 — A very difficult and expensive app

*2024-06-15, version 5.1.4*

I found this app seriously frustrating. To begin with, I paid for the app and I only got a very basic introduction to the piano. On top of this, it is complicated to use and the time consuming. Basically, I gave it one star but it doesn’t deserve that!

### 1/5 — Me

*2023-12-17, version 5.1.2*

I don’t understand what’s going on. I’m a beginner and I’m lost. Giving me a bunch of notes. I am playing it but I’m not sure if I’m hitting the right notes. It’s not prompting me whether it’s right or wrong. Terrible.

### 1/5 — Doesnt work with an audio interface to the piano

*2023-04-30, version 5.0.2*

The app advertises that it can listen to you play and grade you - but it doesn’t seem to work that way (it doesn’t use your microphone to listen to what you’re playing)

### 1/5 — Nothing unlocked asking for more money

*2022-10-02, version 4.2*

Just paid for a yearly subscription but nothing is unlocked. It says I need to upgrade to pro and pay another 9.99! What a waste of money. How do I request a refund?

### 1/5 — Impossible to cancel once you subscribe

*2021-03-09, version 4.0.3*

Impossible to cancel once you subscribe

### 1/5 — Bad reception

*2020-05-14, version 3.6*

Often bugs, doesn’t recognize the note.
Sometimes it does and other times doesn’t, it’s the right note according to all and to the hint, whether I’m with an iPad or iPhone, same problem occurred.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best app for the cost

*2026-07-04, version 5.2.0*

I’m a piano teacher. This app is similar to some other apps but it’s got some things that are better IMO. Game Drills Note Selector is my go to. It’s easy to create and save drills that I use with my students often. I also like that landmark notes are built in already for the newbies.

### 5/5 — This is the best

*2025-10-11, version 5.2.0*

This is the best thing to do with music

### 5/5 — I love this app

*2025-01-18, version 5.1.4*

I love playing piano and this app makes me so much better

### 5/5 — Amazing app!!!

*2024-03-23, version 5.1.3*

The app (game drills) only has one time setting of 15 seconds which is way too fast, especially when you are just beginning and need time to think. You just have to keep pressing restart. Adding a timer selection ie. 30 sec, 1, 5 minutes and timeless mode would make this 5/5 stars!

Edit: Review edited, developer did have a way to remove timer

### 5/5 — Terrific and practical for learning

*2023-12-21*

This is an app that checks all the boxes for me for piano learning. It doesn’t feel gimmicky like some other apps I tried, and the repetition is exactly what I need. Great value for the price. Glad my teacher introduced it to me.

### 5/5 — Excellent!

*2023-08-14, version 5.1.0*

My students and I love playing this game as a warm up or cool down to the lesson!

### 5/5 — Hope for Problem Readers

*2022-12-21, version 5.0.2*

Grace Lee has managed to pull off a minor miracle here with this ingenious app! Just when I thought there was no hope for some of my students who were problem readers, the software worked its magic and got them to look at pitches and rhythms in novel ways.

### 5/5 — MUST HAVE IN YOUR TOOLBOX ❤️

*2022-12-18, version 5.0.2*

I’m completely floored! Finally a decent sight reading app every student should have access too. Aside from being aesthetically pleasing and fun for the eye, it seems like it has everything I’m looking for…which is so so rare. Literally. I would think “oh cool, but does it have THIS?” And ten seconds later I find it. Happy premium member and soon to be sight reading pro 💕💕

### 5/5 — Makes sight-reading natural

*2022-11-02, version 5.0*

The gamefied style of NoteQuest along with it being so visual makes hitting the right note become a reflex, which is exactly what it needs to be!

I had a query re how to get the app to detect my digital piano output and Grace replied to my email quickly and with the info I needed (thank you kindly again!)

Great app from some enthusiastic and supportive folk. Well pleased.

### 5/5 — Practical!

*2022-10-25, version 5.0*

A simple, fun app to help in re-learning notes, sight reading & playing the piano. We love it!
