### 4/5 — Please update for 4 inch screen

*2012-11-27, version 2.0.0*

Great app but it would be awesome if this could get updated for the iPhone 5

### 4/5 — SImple, perfect

*2012-08-02, version 2.0.0*

After the short tutorial, this was incredibly easy to use, and does exactly what I was looking for: simple, stupid sketches with some written notes. Easy as pie. The only thing I might ask for is the option to type text instead of hand-writing it over a sketch. I mostly use this for making a quick sketch with written dimensions that I later use as a reference for CAD drawings.

### 4/5 — Handy app

*2012-07-02, version 2.0.0*

Well, this app was just what I wanted. I plan to use it for all of my assignments in the fall. As a grad student I've found going digital is easier than ever now. The app is simple easy and fast. I love writing on my iPod touch because it is quick and easy. Also it's easier to remember things if I have to actually write the letters. The app is slightly pixilated and the amount of notes is limited. I will buy the full program if this can help me replace my planner.

### 4/5 — Nifty and useful, but....

*2010-07-21, version 0*

Like this app and after learning to use it, I think I'll actually have a use for it. But I'd like to see some additions before I'd consider paying for the full version:

-Copy/Paste or drag/drop
-Portrait orientation (even if only enabled for viewing notes)

Especially useful for note taking would be:
-ability to create columns
-ability to delete a row

Bonus:
-ability to drop in characters (or switch to keyboard even.)

### 4/5 — Excellant app

*2010-06-30, version 0*

I might actually give up paper and use this. I have tried all the free apps and this is the fastest and most functional.
Flags tags titles favorites. Quick processing once you do the tutorial!

### 4/5 — Awesome

*2010-06-23, version 0*

The words show up less rounded than in UseYourHandwriting, but everything else is great! The simultaneous zoomed and shrinked layers are really smart. And there's an eraser! Having difficulty with the auto-advance, but might get used to it (better in UseYourHandwriting)

### 5/5 — Very handy little app

*2010-05-10, version 0*

I like it. And I'm review number 420

### 5/5 — Ingenious

*2010-04-26, version 0*

This is the thing for all those who still like to write with their handwriting and not do the thumb dance. Excellent tool!

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2010-04-20, version 0*

Great App. Please Please Pleaase make a version for the iPad!

### 4/5 — Great, but not on iPad

*2010-04-20, version 0*

On the iPhone, this app is fantastic! Unfortunately, on the iPad, it is almost useless. This needs to be updated to take advantage of the resolution change. I'd really hate to miss out on continued use of it.

### 5/5 — Ingenious App

*2010-04-14, version 0*

Great app, this is almost exactly what I was looking for as far as an app that would permit me to replace a conventional notebook with, eventually, this App and an iPad. Props!

### 5/5 — Review

*2010-02-17, version 0*

I personally think this app is awsome! It gives you room to write, lines 2 keep ur balance and easy axcess 2 all of the controlls. It is sort of like the app called write pad. This app let's u write on the screen and it will turn into typed words, it also let's u email like that too, and best of all it's free!
:) thumbs up!

### 5/5 — OUT-FREAKIN-STANDING!!!

*2010-02-10, version 0*

This is a great app!!! I've been looking for a decent notes app to replace iPhone's pathetic version without success. This is a a better solution for taking quick notes and creating lists! It's intuitive and feels natural. Unless you're ADHD, it takes very little practice to get the hang of it.

### 5/5 — note taker

*2010-01-11, version 0*

THis is a great tool, very easy to use and user friendly.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Note Taker

*2012-05-10, version 2.0.0*

Okay, I'm not a tech person so who can tell me WHAT HAPPENED TO MY NOTES after I updated Note Taker??!!! I guess maybe I shouldn't have updated?! Not too happy right now and surprised at what happened. I've updated all my apps in the past without any problems or major changes! Where did I mess up??

### 1/5 — Meh

*2011-03-29, version 2.0.0*

If they made it free it would be awesome. The fact that the free version holds only a limited number of pages is garbage. As far as how the app works it is awesome, you just really shouldn't have to pay for it considering this is functionality that apple should have included with iPad.

It's a shame Apple left so much out of the ipad further elevating the price of iPad if you want full functionality.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2010-01-01, version 0*

You have to write it. I have bad hand writing so I guess it's not for me

### 2/5 — When will you update so I can use for my current phone ?

*2022-09-02, version 2.0.0*

Hi it no longer works with my current iphone 11, will you please maintain the app so I can use the purchase?

### 2/5 — Stability Would Help

*2009-12-11, version 0*

The concept is outstanding. I'm much happier stroking the letters than using the soft keyboard. The navigation features are quite capable, and sharing (via email) - so useful! Unfortunately, it crashed 4 times in the 5 minutes I was learning it - crashed clicking Done, crashed opening a note, crashed after emailing a note... Wait for the .1 or .2 that addresses this problem before putting down warm, soft, digital cash for this innovative and useful app.

### 2/5 — Check your fingerwriting speed and readability before paying for full version

*2009-12-10, version 0*

Good on you for coming here to Lite version first. I tried it and found that for my fingerwriting to be decently legible I had to write even slower than I can type on my iTouch. The idea of this app seems pretty brilliant, and the execution is just fine, but my fingers don't write well enough for it to be useful.

### 3/5 — Doesn't not work well on the iPad...

*2011-01-05, version 2.0.0*

I was considering trying Note Taker HD, but there is not a lite version. So I tried this, hoping that it would be similar, but it is not practical for the iPad. It makes my writing illegible. I wish there was a lite version of Note Taker HD.

### 3/5 — feature request

*2010-12-24, version 2.0.0*

evernote export?

### 3/5 — Needs an update!!

*2010-10-31, version 0*

This app works ok, but the dev needs to update to iPhone 4 & iOS 4. The icons and buttons look crappy on the retina display. The text can also be so much smoother on the iPhone 4.

### 3/5 — Very slick and useful

*2010-01-04, version 0*

I just tried the free version. It's a very interesting and intuitive approach to note taking. I like it much more than the default Notes application. I have more control over the input, look, and relationships of my notes. My favorite part is the automatic scrolling. This allows me to keep writing without having to stop and press buttons to advance the page.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Very Well Done.

*2012-07-21, version 2.0.0*

Easy to learn, great tutorial. Love this app for map drawing and such- will gladly get the full version now.

### 5/5 — Great simple app

*2011-10-21, version 2.0.0*

This is a nice little simple app but there are few little quirks to learn. First, I thought you couldn't work in portrait mode but you have to enable it in the options. I think the reason may have been the help won't show up in portrait so maybe it was easier to disable by default? In any case, it works if you need it.

The other confusing part for me was when in landscape, how to move the paper up and down. If you are in drawing mode, obviously using one finger will draw and not push the paper. So I tried two fingers. The page moves, but opposite what you would expect! After reading the help, I found what you need to think about is that you are moving the blue rectangle around. If you want to push the paper around, you actually use three fingers. For myself, this wasn't intuitive. I think a simple two finger to move the paper would have been fine. The blue rectangle could have be constrained to always be visible on the part of the page you were looking and then you could drag it around. In any case, now that I understand what was implemented, no big deal.

Great app and if I find I need more than the 15 pages, I will go for the full version!

A couple quick comments.

You can email to your evernote address to get the jpg in evernote. This also makes your handwriting searchable!

As for people that complain the full version should be free. You can't be serious. A well written app for a couple bucks is less than you spend on a bottle of water. Developers will keep writing good apps as long as they can make a living doing so. And the developer has even provided a free version! Thanks Dan!

### 5/5 — The best handwriting app. Period.

*2011-02-19, version 2.0.0*

I have literally tried well over a dozen different handwriting and note-taking apps. This and Note Taker HD for iPad are by far the best, most useable apps of their kind. The auto advance and text-shrinking functions allow me to quickly and easily take lots of notes with one hand while holding the iDevice with the other, wherever I am. Comprehensive tutorial helps get you started. Works great with Just Mobile's Alupen.

### 5/5 — great

*2011-01-22, version 2.0.0*

Fantastic app. Using it all the time. !!!!

### 5/5 — Great app

*2011-01-16, version 2.0.0*

I recommend it

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2010-12-07, version 0*

Last year I gave up on digital note taking despite it's many advantages (the speed of typing, search ability, the ability to rearrange things later, having all my notes in my phone... the list goes on), and went back to taking notes with pen and paper. Why? I found it impossible to keep up taking notes in my engineering classes while trying to add equations and diagrams to my notes on the computer. I found myself writing a ton to avoid having to make diagrams. Still, a simple hand drawn diagram ends up explaining things soooo much better.
My new note taking strategy: have note taker open on my iPod and evernote open on my laptop. I can type simple text notes, and when I need an equation or diagram I can draw it in note taker and then I have the default settings set so I can quickly email it straight into evernote. Then for some copy and paste magic, and voila! My typed and hand written notes in one place. Evernote even makes the text in my images searchable. This app has renewed my faith in digital note taking. I plan to get the full version soon.

### 5/5 — Essential!

*2010-08-18, version 0*

Being not much of a typist, I would have a hard time without this app. I scribble notes to myself on it every day!

### 5/5 — Makes me happy

*2010-08-03, version 0*

Makes me happy to see such high quality apps made and offered for so small a price!!! The only thing I want to see, like others, is the ability to type. That's all I can ask for from this app, it's amazing.

### 5/5 — Wow!

*2010-05-24, version 0*

What a delightfully powerful app! And that's just the lite version.

### 5/5 — Great but needs 2 things

*2010-05-23, version 0*

Could you'd please add graph paper for a background and add the ability to add typed text.
