But time marches on... I want my notes to feature in iOS and OS X universal search. When I search, I find the note, but get no indication of where in the note to look. There's no split screen action on iPad. What a shame - it would be perfect. Also, I don’t know if it is iCloud or Notefile but if I don’t restart my Mac every few days, the syncing stops working. ### 3/5 — Can’t use the app *2020-02-28* When I opened the app it blank out for a while and then jumped out of the app. Even after I removed the app from memory and restart the iPhone and back I still can’t open the app properly. I feel like the app has too much data and needs to be unload a little. But I wish I can safely remove the data not just brutally uninstall it. Is there a way for it? Also before I had the problem that when I wanted to search on a keyword., the app also crashed . After I removed a lot of the data then I can search again. Looks like I can’t save too much data in it . I wish there is an warning sign for it . ### 4/5 — Having Trouble *2019-03-15* UPDATED: I finally figured out what the problem was on my own and how to get the note I’m working on to close. So y’all get 4 stars from me! UPDATE: I finally and accidentally got it to close for me. I still don’t know what in the heck I did to get it to close!!! I’m not adding stars until/unless I hear from a human connected and this app. BTW - I rebooted my iPhone and after that is when I finally did what I needed/wanted it to do! ——————————————————————- I like the app but I’m having trouble with it. I typed a note in the app and I can’t get it to let me close out of the note. I close the app and when I open it back the note is still there and open. I think that Apple and the App Store should require all developers and sellers in their store to give customers at least a 10 day free trial of their apps instead of allowing them to make customers purchase the app in order to download and try it out to see if it’s what they want and if it will work for their needs. But no, we have to buy it before we can try it out and then if it’s not what we expected, won’t meet our needs, etc., we have to jump through hoops to get a refund! So far you’re getting one star from me. I had to pay $4.99 + tax (I think on the tax) for this app that I can’t get to close a note like it’s supposed to. I need to hear from somebody helping me with this problem. Then I may update and add stars to this review. ### 4/5 — Great little app!! *2018-11-22* This is a great app for inputting text and then sending to another app via the Share menu. In this sense it’s similar to Drafts but simpler to use. Two big pluses 1) support for TextExpander and 2) syncing across devices through iCloud or their own proprietary server (which is very reliable and works well). I would give it five stars but encountered some minor bugs in screen refresh, but nothing serious. Don’t overlook this app! ### 4/5 — Notefile *2017-08-13, version 2.7* This is a fabulous app. I love it & use it all the time. It keeps so many things hand at my fingertips no matter where I am across all my devices. It's a real ol' faithful. Simple, easy to use, nicely designed, reliable. I use other notes apps for different things, but Notefile is perfect for me. I love it long time. ### 5/5 — Great but. *2016-03-30, version 2.7* I bought this because you can do calculations without leaving the app but would like to be able see the problem as well as the solution after the calculation. ### 4/5 — Basic but perfect *2015-12-11, version 2.7* I wanted a simple note tool that would sync fast and not take forever like the default app does on my phone. This worked great. I’m working on my masters and I just don’t have time to wait from something to sync from my Mac to my phone at any given moment. This app utilizes the cloud in a much more effectively. ### 5/5 — Minimalism at its finest *2015-09-28, version 2.7* I have 1000s of notes and take roughly 10 a day. The app is amazingly responsible, quick to navigate, and overall in my top five of favorite applications. I do have to say that sometimes I'd love the ability to throw a photo in there, or give a note a tag, but I wouldn't want to spoil its simplicity - so I'm conflicted there. Either way, buy this app, it could just change your life :). ### 5/5 — The best note taker *2015-03-01, version 2.5.1* I use Notefile more than any other app on my iPhone every single day. I use it in conjunction with Notefile for Mac so I'm always in sync with my note taking which is really vital to me. I wish there was a way to get my money back. Honestly, it's exactly like the very old version of the Notes app on your iPhone and Mac. Notes has been updated and I extremely like it, although I still use Evernote which I can password protect and use Touch ID. After reading the reviews (and I'm a big fan of Deliveries), I purchased this on the reputation of the developer. But I can't figure out why this App exists. It seems to be merely a copy of the native Apple Notes App. About the only thing it does different is Calculate. (And I can't imagine that justifies the price tag!) It’s not organized and neat anymore, but that’s what the search function is for! I imagine I have at least 500 separate “files.” I put everything in this Notefile. Recipes, grocery lists, daily tasks, just to remember things I might forget, clips from Internet articles I want to quickly find! There are not many apps I can say I use daily, especially for years and years… but this is one of them! Never any bugs, just simple perfection. Still loving it! Past review- many years old…. Really love this little app. So very simple yet so powerful! I use it to just write down little tid bits I need to remember. I also use it to make lists for the grocery store. I have several different "folders" that each have there own important info in them. I must say, for such a "simple" app- I use it almost daily! I have tons of other note taking apps but this is one of my favorites for simple things. It's also neat that you can add an icon by the title... Makes it a little more fun. Good job! Thank you for such a useful app! ### 5/5 — Pretty much perfect *2021-02-27, version 2.7.4* Fantastic for quick notes, accessible from a Mac’s menu bar, or from the iPhone app. All synced via iCloud. I use mine for quickly needed notes which would take too long to find in Apple Notes, as well as frequently needed info, like phone numbers, account numbers, etc. I like the fact it’s not loaded with features or complexity, it does what it does perfectly. I especially appreciate the widget on my mac dashboard. Simple, bare bones design provides only what I need and nothing extra. Never once had any issues syncing between devices. I have used Notefile since it was a Dashboard Widget on OSX and it has consistently been the most stable app I have ever used.
