My handwriting is really messy, so I always have to restart button. They only let you access the reading note pads at a time was really frustrated me but it was probably just my Apple Pencil because it was almost dead so but this app is really good. It helps me with my to do list since it helped me with notes for school. It helped me a lot. but this app is actually better than I expected someone on TikTok recommended this and I was like I’m not gonna pay for one of those other notebook apps, so I’ll try to download this one and I did and it’s pretty good. It helps you a lot. Thanks for reading this bye ### 2/5 — over the top ads. *2022-02-08, version 3.13* i understand free apps have to use ads. but EVERY time i added a page an ad popped up. initially i thought i was clicking on the ad. didn’t get a chance to really see if i like the app or not. the ads are too over the top. two stars instead of one because it seems good. but I didn’t stick around to really find out. ### 4/5 — Sub Folders for Organizing *2021-11-01, version 3.13* Really like the app and I’ve been using it for couple of years for taking notes on job sites. The only thing I don’t like about it is that there isn’t any way for organizing the files. Would be great if files could be added or placed in a folder (I.e. - customer folder) so when looking back and searching for a file you could just go to that “customer folder” (for example) and see every file you have for that particular customer rather than having to search through them all. It is easy to use, but in only 10 minutes, it's now crashed twice. Each time I lost my latest changes and had to restart and then decline again the additional purchase version. ### 3/5 — It is ok *2020-11-04, version 3.13* I think that is a great game it is that I have a nock off apple pen and it will not wright or it will cover the whole screen in what color I am using. Also you cannot upload it. If you look at the game pictures it shows a lot more colors than you get. I like the game because you can use snaps highlight and there is a typing tool. I really don't think it's worth TwEnTy dollars just to get more books and pen colors with 20 dollars I'd rather go to five below and get cooler stuffs than payments no 20 dollars for the note plus I love everything about it but I don't want to pay 20 dollars just for a small little upgrade. I can easily write down the problems I have for math class or whatever but it’s so hard to get things done and focus with all the ads. Like, I just erase a little mark and a ad pops up. The ads are the only problem for me. If there were a lot less ads then I would rate this app higher than 3 stars. That’s all :) ### 4/5 — Great free app *2019-10-23, version 3.13* I love this app, it does just what I want out of a basic notepad app. The only drawback is that they have packed it so full of annoying ad pop ups that it is hard to use. So I will either upgrade for $20, or just give up and try another. ### 3/5 — Storage hog *2019-10-11, version 3.13* I paid for the pro version and have found the app very useful for the last few years, but it is now taking up 3.47 gigabytes of storage on my iPad, even though I have deleted all but six brief handwritten documents. I keep deleting stuff and it doesn’t get any smaller. In fact I erased part of a document and it got a bit bigger. ### 3/5 — Good but I think it could be better *2019-04-09, version 3.13* Hi! I enjoy this app, but the amount of ads I am getting are insane. I understand that you are trying to get people to upgrade to Pro, and I’m good with that. The app is getting really hard to use. Again, I am okay with the ads, but please can there be less? For a student trying to World on homework, this is really not ideal. Thank you for the trouble. ### 2/5 — Ads & Glitches galore *2019-04-09, version 3.13* I got this app to take notes for my studying. After using it for a few days I needed to get my notes out and this app deleted ASAP. The app would ask me at least twice a day if I wanted to upgrade to the paid version, no thank you! Then, as if they were punishing me for not purchasing the upgrade, I’d get ad pop ups every minute! Making it impossible to take notes. Also, my iPad would glitch every time I had the app open! Now that I’ve deleted it, no glitches. **Developer response:** These functionality limitations in the app are compensated by the fact that it’s free. Please consider checking our portfolio for the applications with no ads that are available for download on different terms. Sorry for the possible inconvenience. ### 3/5 — Suitable for a non class setting *2019-01-15, version 3.13* I am in nursing school and cannot afford to miss anything said by my instructor and with pop-up adds sometimes taking 30 seconds to complete I had to delete the app. I have an Apple Pencil that I use for my IPad and sometimes when I would set my hand down on the pad the app would be very confused on whether to be directed to my Apple Pencil or my hand/knuckle. ### 4/5 — Great but could allow for more organization *2018-11-09, version 3.13* I have one notebook per course, it would be great to be able to have multiple sub documents per notebook, kinda like in Evernote. That way I could hot straight to the unit I’m looking for while studying. ### 3/5 — Ok but not great *2018-10-20, version 3.12* When I got this app I thought it would have all the colors like on the pictures but it didn’t and that made me sad because I’m an artist and I thought it would be great for me so i can erase my mistakes unlike starting all the way over on a canvas but it only had basic colors. ### 4/5 — Good but could be better *2018-09-02, version 3.12* How about you have an option to make an image the background of the note or cover of your notebooks? Also needs to allow the font to get WAYY bigger than 54 or whatever it is. I want to be able to have title and section title pages with nice typed words that are big. Also sometimes when I go to make a new text box and type in it the keyboard pops up and the notes go above the screen and I can’t see what I’m typing. It would be nice to be able to put photos on top of photos so I can kind of scrapbook. It would also be nice to be able to include videos on notes. Thank you in advance! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Lost Pages and Keeps Crashing! *2021-01-08, version 3.13* Honestly started off so well although was slightly disappointed only 3 notebooks are allowed. Then pages randomly started disappearing when I go back to them - they become completely blank (not even ruled just bright blank) it started crashing a lot and doesn’t save my work - there should be a save button at least. Started becoming very frustrating and if I hadn’t already wrote some notes there I would definitely stop working on this app and transfer elsewhere. ### 1/5 — Cannot Recommend *2020-11-21, version 3.13* For the short amount of time I have had this app (a day), I have experienced way too many frustrating errors. The biggest problem I had with this app was the fact that it crashed four times today. I downloaded this app just to write my math test and I lost my work for four problems because of this. This was made even more infuriating by the fact that the problems each required a page worth of work. Another small bug is the amount of times my hands have made marks on my work even though I am using an apple pencil. We're willing to help. ### 1/5 — Heck no *2020-03-10, version 3.13* Not no, but he** no. Screen does not keep up with actual pen stroke speed. Lags behind like an animation. It’s not my device. The native app doesn’t have this problem. The eraser doesn’t erase the entire stroke. It only erases what it touches, like a real eraser. Not efficient for taking notes. The palm rejection is better than nothing, but that’s the extent of positive things to say about it. It doesn’t have any kind of smart sensing like Samsung Note. Instead, you have to slide a screen up and down over the area where your hand will rest. The big no, however, is that it pops up full screen ads ..... frequently ... and won’t let you close them for several seconds. They obviously care more about the money than customer experience. The paid version may be great, but I’m not sticking around to find out. ### 1/5 — Poorly Executed *2019-05-20, version 3.13* This app has a lot of good ideas, but executed them very poorly. It’s literally a knockoff Notability. The ads make it impossible to focus, the app isn’t visually appealing, and the write function is very glitchy. Adding more options for customizing paper would be nice, as well as just making the whole thing run much more smoothly, because it’s very choppy now. The thing that irks me the most (besides the ads you have to fix those ads) is the lack of a good UX scheme. A UX scheme is the User Experience, and this app just wasn’t appealing at all. Users can overlook small faults with an app if it looks good, but this app just looks... terrible. There’s no color, the paper options are bland and uncustomizable, and the blue-white scheme just isn’t working. Thank you in advance! ### 1/5 — No Apple Pencil Support *2019-02-22, version 3.13* Did not recognize the Apple Pencil 2 at all. All other apps (notes, penultimate, bamboo paper, one note, pages) have no issues. Had to reinstall and reboot and it finally worked. Palm protection is an area on the screen that won’t allow writing. No handwriting recognition. Not as smooth as other apps that work for free. Ads are annoying. No listing in the app of what paid version adds (just says more...). ### 1/5 — TERRIBLE!! *2018-10-29, version 3.13* This app offers NOTHING helpful to aid in studying. The app was not at all what I was looking for and I am kicking myself for spending $20 (which is a good deal of money when you are a student) on this app. There are so many different note apps that are better, AND drastically less expensive. There is no way to copy and paste, no way to upload documents nor pictures except when trying to upload a picture from your own photos app. I would not recommend this app at all and I am currently trying to search how I can get my money back. ### 1/5 — Crashes all the time!! *2018-05-01, version 3.11* I got this app to to help me with my small businesses, and it crashes all the time... I understand there will be ads but why so many?!? But every time I open it there is a full screen add that disables app use completely, with no way of closing the ad. If this is the kind of product you’ve designed, then you’ve lost me as a potential paid product user. Your free version should make me want to upgrade because the product is so amazing and useful, not because you’ve purposefully designed a version I can’t use until I relent and upgrade. And then if I want to make more I have to upgrade it, and it leads to buying the better version of it. But it costs $20 and I don't want to waste money. So I deleted it right away. You can buy the Notepad + pro, but it costs a lot. And yes, I now you can only make THREE because the fact that the app is free. But I would say that this app is horrible. Pls make it better in the future and stop ripping people off. 1 star. ### 1/5 — Interrupting ads deter trying out app *2018-01-29, version 3.11* I was evaluating several notetaking apps on a trial basis, and the frequency and disruptive ads on Notepad would not allow for a decent trial. Completely frustrating and maddening to use. I ended buying other note apps which did not muck up the trial app with interrupting ads. It’s one thing to add ads to your app to frame your app; it’s another to put the ads where they actually interfere with use. LAME. Looking forward to hearing from you! ### 5/5 — The best *2020-01-10, version 3.13* I’ve downloaded so SO many apps for drawing, markup, and doodling with my Apple Pencil. This is by far the most intuitive notebook app, but when Imif you feet lost it’s ok; it comes with extensive and easy to understand instructions. I love the color wheel and the realistic and pressure sensitive drawing tools. I don’t even need to use my Apple Pencil, it will still work flawlessly...as for my art, well, perfection is the enemy of art. But perfection is the BFF of this app. No, it’s the baby. ### 5/5 — Best game ever!! *2019-11-07, version 3.13* It is so easy to take me notes with this app! I love this app so much. It’s so good when you need to remember something or if you’re studying for a test. For the test you can just write down all the questions and ask yourself them and you just write them down at the bottom or on the next slide. This game makes it so easy for you to remember anything. You can title all the slides. You can write and share to your friends or family your slides. The fact you have the ability to print your notes, and organize them into notebooks is amazing. My only complaint is the pop up ads, but that is an easy trade off for a great app. ### 5/5 — Line tool *2018-09-20, version 3.12* To create a straight line tap the screen and a like appears. You can adjust length and inclination of the line, and move it to where you want it. But you can’t originate a like at a point and draw it straight from that point, or anchor it at that point and rotate it, it only rotates from the center of the line. When moving the line you can’t see the end of it because it is covered up with a blue control point, so aligning it isn’t as easy. I think this tool needs some development.
