Notes Practice comes to Apple Watch. Quick rounds of ten cards on your wrist: read the note on the staff, tap one of three answers, feel the haptic. Pick your levels and note names right on the watch — and a wrong answer always shows you the right one.

Install it from the Watch app on your iPhone after updating.

### 1.9 — 2026-08-19

Your progress now follows you between iPhone and iPad. Badges, streaks, exams and the note ladder sync through iCloud — practise on one device and pick up where you left off on the other. A new iCloud section in Settings lets you turn sync on or off and test that it is working.

Also new: Stalker mode for the daily reminder. Instead of one nudge a day it keeps reminding you every few hours until the day's goal is done — you pick how often and when it goes quiet.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-18

Notes Practice is now a real iPad app — and everything since 1.0 comes with it.

ON IPAD: universal, every orientation, laid out for the screen it is on. The staff, answer buttons and piano stay in one readable column instead of spanning a foot of glass, the Place staff and piano get the extra room, and the settings no longer strand a toggle an arm's length from its label.

NOTE LADDER — learn a level one note at a time. Landmark notes first (middle C, the outer staff lines, the bass F line), each new note explained as a step from one you already know. A note joins the mix only after you name it three times running, and review rounds keep it there: twelve questions drawn weakest-first, a score at the end, and a one-tap redo of whatever slipped. Notes fade if you leave them, and a per-note history shows how each one is really going.

CHALLENGE AND PRACTICE, KEPT APART — Challenge is the scored game on the clock, the only place badges are won. Practice is everything you do to get ready: no clock, green and red on every answer, Show me when you are stuck, and mnemonics (FACE, Every Good Boy Does Fine) with the note played aloud whenever you miss.

EXAMS — generate a fixed paper from the levels and modes you pick, mixing reading, ear, placing and cards. No feedback until the last answer. Keep every attempt, see which notes cost you marks, and build a follow-up exam from exactly those. Printable as a PDF with an answer key.

MORE WAYS TO ANSWER — say the note, play it on a real piano, tap a letter, or place it on a blank staff. Two-sided flashcards too.

PLAYERS — add one per family member; everyone keeps their own streak, badges, exams and progress.
