Title: I LOVE Notes+! Some Feature Suggestions to Make It Even Better

Title: I LOVE Notes+! Some Feature Suggestions to Make It Even Better

I absolutely LOVE Notes+! I’m a college student, and I use this app every day to take handwritten notes during lectures, study, and organize my coursework. I love it so much that I actually deleted Apple’s native Notes app because Notes+ has completely replaced it for me.

I’m also passionate about software development, so I naturally find myself thinking about ways apps could be improved, not just for myself, but for a wider range of users.

Here are a few features I think could make Notes+ even better.

1. Automatic Note Titles

One feature I really miss from Apple Notes is automatic note naming.

Whenever I create multiple notes, I often end up with several titled “Blank.” This makes finding specific notes frustrating because I have to open each one to figure out what’s inside.

I’d love options for automatically naming notes using the first line of text, their creation date and time, or a manually entered title. It would also be great if existing untitled notes could be automatically renamed.

2. Audio-Synced Lecture Recordings

As a college student, I sometimes have professors who explain things faster than I can write them down.

I’d love the ability to record lectures directly within my handwritten notes and have those recordings saved alongside the corresponding pages.

Even better would be audio synchronization, where tapping something I wrote during class would play the exact part of the recording from when I wrote it.

This would be incredibly helpful for reviewing lectures, filling gaps in my notes, and understanding explanations I may have missed.

3. Universal Search

I’d love a search feature that could recognize handwritten words, typed text, PDF contents, and even words spoken in recorded lectures.

For example, I could search for a chemistry concept and immediately find every note or recording where that concept was mentioned.

This would make managing large amounts of information significantly easier.

4. Customizable Pen and Pencil Ordering

Another small but useful improvement would be the ability to manually rearrange pens, pencils, highlighters, and other writing tools in the toolbar.

I frequently switch between different writing tools and colors while taking notes, and I’d love to organize them in whatever order works best for me.

Ideally, users could drag and drop their favorite tools into a preferred order, keeping their most frequently used pens, pencils, and colors easily accessible.

It would also be great if the customized arrangement remained consistent across notebooks and devices.

This might seem like a minor improvement, but small changes that reduce unnecessary taps can make a big difference when taking notes throughout the day.

5. Better Accessibility and Personalization

I think Notes+ could accommodate a wider range of users by offering more customizable accessibility features.

This could include improved VoiceOver support, handwriting-to-speech, adjustable contrast, customizable toolbars, left-handed layouts, and better keyboard navigation.

Everyone processes information differently, and giving users more control over their workspace would make the app more accessible.

6. Version History and Note Recovery

Having the ability to view and restore previous versions of notes would be extremely useful.

Accidentally deleting handwriting, moving something, or making an unwanted change could be fixed without worrying about losing important information.

Reliable offline access and backup options would also provide peace of mind.

7. Collaboration and Shared Notes

I’d love options for sharing editable notebooks with classmates, coworkers, or project teammates.

Features like collaborative editing, comments, and shared annotations could make Notes+ useful for group assignments, meetings, and collaborative projects.

8. Calendar, Reminders, and Shortcuts Integration

Another great improvement would be allowing handwritten notes to connect with calendars and reminders.

For example, if I write down an assignment and its due date during class, I’d love the option to turn it into a reminder without leaving the app.

Integration with Apple Shortcuts could also allow users to automate repetitive tasks and create personalized workflows.

Final Thoughts

I genuinely love Notes+ and appreciate the work that has gone into developing it. It’s already become an essential part of my daily routine, and I wouldn’t have deleted Apple Notes if I didn’t believe Notes+ offered a better experience for the way I work.

I’m not suggesting that every feature needs to be implemented. I understand that developing and maintaining software takes time, and adding too many features can sometimes make an app unnecessarily complicated.

I just think Notes+ has enormous potential to become an even more versatile note-taking platform without sacrificing the simplicity that makes it enjoyable to use.

My biggest priorities would personally be automatic note titles, audio-synced handwriting, universal search, and customizable writing tools.

Ultimately, I’d love to see Notes+ become an app where users can capture information quickly, find it effortlessly, and revisit it whenever they need it, regardless of how they prefer to learn or work.

Thank you for creating an app I genuinely enjoy using every day. Keep up the amazing work! I’m excited to see where you take it next.

WE FREAKING LOVE YOU NOTES+

As a engineering student this is the best notetaking app in my opinion. I’ve spent so much money on other apps but this one is so good and it has so many features for free that other apps charge for. One thing I really want is the ability to keep a saved cheatsheet. It gets annoying having to import documents over and over. I wish there was an option where I can just reference a page without having to add the page. Also can we please get document layering where we can actually see our annotations please. I’m kinda bummed that they are now charging for flash cards and quizzes. But it is what it is. Also can we do custom pen sizes. Please.

Great app

I was searching on tiktok for different note taking apps. After trying about 5, I decided that notes+ is the best option. The only features that cost money are the ai features, but the app works really well as is. I love the audio recording option. It’s a great app, it can bug sometimes and glitch but nothing overly annoying.

Good but overheating

Been using this app for years but recently this app has been making my iPad overheat when it never used to do that. It’s not really ideal to have to stop using it to give my iPad a rest when all my notes are on here.
