## What is Notist?

Notist is a new AI-powered notes app that lets AI handle the writing, tidying, and organizing for you.

"I can't keep up with notes." "I want to jot things down quickly, but also have them read well later." "Similar notes end up scattered everywhere." "Shopping lists, recipes and to-dos live in yet other apps." AI takes on all of it.

There are three things we really want you to know.

- 1. All your note work, done in one chat
Creating, updating, merging, and searching notes, plus creating and organizing folders — if it's note work, just ask in chat and it's done. A note can grow out of a plain conversation, or you can ask AI to research the web (say, "look up the latest AI news and save it as a note") and build the note for you. AI keeps folders organized and searchable on its own, so you never have to remember where a note lives. And whenever you'd rather fix something yourself, direct editing is always right there.
One tap switches between your note list and a dedicated full-screen AI chat. You can always see what the AI is doing right now (thinking, creating a note, searching), so you never wonder whether it's stuck or working. Attach images or files, or just speak with voice input.

- 2. AI runs your shopping, too
Say "add milk to my shopping list" and it's built automatically. Ask for a recipe and AI adds whatever ingredients you're missing straight to the list. Optional alerts near a store or on a buy-by date make sure nothing's forgotten. Checked items move themselves to a "Purchased" list, and when you cook a saved recipe, AI deducts the ingredients you used from Purchased automatically. Recipes you make are kept, so you can build a favorites box over time — and any recipe from the web can be imported, too.

- 3. To-dos, handled by AI too
Say "send the slides by tomorrow" or "clean the room this weekend" and AI turns it into a checklist note — just tick things off when they're done. It also works with your iPhone's Calendar and Reminders: ask "add a meeting on Friday at 10" or "remind me to buy milk at 9 tomorrow" and it adds the event or reminder, always after a confirmation. When a note's deadline is coming up, AI notices and lets you know.

- A few more things it does
- Nested folders, as deep as you like
- Search by tag, too
- Voice input
- Stored on-device (cloud sync when you sign in)
- In AI Chat Mode while signed in, work keeps going after you close the app, with a push notification when it's done

- Great for people who want to
- Create notes and to-dos as easily as sending a chat message
- Tidy up meeting notes to read later
- Stop spending time organizing piled-up notes
- Hand shopping lists, recipes, travel plans, and idea drafts to AI
- Keep the feel of a simple notes app while gaining AI's benefits

- Privacy
Your notes are stored on your device. Data is sent to the AI only when you act. AI features ask for your explicit consent before first use. There are no ads.

Core features — creating and organizing notes, folders, tags, voice input — are free. AI chat comes with a monthly free allowance, with Plus/Pro plans available for higher usage.
With Notist, make all the time you spend organizing your thoughts a lot freer.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.4 — 2026-09-29

What's new: AI chat can now use your iPhone's Calendar and Reminders.

- Calendar and Reminders
Ask "What's on tomorrow?" and the AI checks your calendar. Ask it to add a meeting on Friday at 10, or to remind you to buy milk at 9 tomorrow, and it adds the event or reminder. It can also mark reminders as done.
Adding or completing anything always shows a confirmation first. Events and reminders are read on your iPhone, and only what your request needs is sent to the AI. Notist asks for access the first time. You can turn this off in Settings → AI.

- Smarter folder organizing
The folder organizer now handles the built-in Shopping List, Purchased and Recipes folders properly: it no longer creates look-alike folders or proposes changes to them. It can suggest subfolders, leaves notes that are already in the right place alone, and explains each suggestion.

- Other improvements
AI chat's activity log now reads in plain words, such as "Added a reminder".
Cancelling a purchase no longer shows a "purchase failed" message.
The link in the password reset email now opens the reset screen instead of the sign-in screen.
To help improve the app, Notist now sends anonymous usage and crash data. Your notes are never sent. Turn it off in Settings → Share usage data.

### 1.3.3 — 2026-09-22

What's new: AI chat can now work inside a single folder.

- Start a chat in a folder
On the empty AI chat screen, tap "Start in a folder" and choose one. For that chat, the AI only searches, reads, creates, edits and organizes notes inside that folder and its subfolders — nothing outside it. The folder is shown in the message field. Picking a different folder after the conversation has started opens a new chat in it.

- Copy your own messages
A copy button now sits under every message you send. Tap it to copy the whole message; it briefly turns into a check mark.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-15

[What's new] Text is easier to read. Sizes and line spacing now match the stock iPhone Notes app.

■ Japanese now renders in one typeface
Latin text used one font and Japanese fell back to the device font, so a single line could mix two typefaces with mismatched weights and heights. Everything now uses the system font. The tight letter-spacing that squeezed kanji is gone.

■ Larger text, more line spacing
Body text is 17pt; list previews and timestamps are 15pt. Headings follow the same three-step scale the Notes app uses. Fewer notes fit on screen, and each one is easier to read.

■ Faster start, same look offline
The app used to fetch a font over the network at launch, so an offline first run showed a different typeface and everything shifted once the download landed. That wait and that shift are gone.

■ Bigger formatting buttons
Editor formatting buttons are now 44pt. The keyboard bar and the desktop bar show the same buttons in the same order.

■ Plan screen fixes
Tapping "See plans" on the AI usage-limit notice sometimes did nothing — fixed. The plan sheet no longer flashes a placeholder price before the store's real price arrives.

■ A new look for AI chat
Replies now read as plain text across the full width, with no frame and no fill. Only your own messages sit in a grey bubble. The AI chat inside the note editor looks the same.

■ Tidier notifications and settings
The notifications screen is now just the notifications you were sent; the gear in its top corner is where you switch them on and off. A folder's note list carries the bell too, so an alert arriving while you read a folder does not go unnoticed. Settings is now four screens — language, notifications, AI and account — each row showing what it is currently set to.

■ Drafts no longer disappear
A new note is saved as soon as you write anything in it. Go back without tapping save, or switch apps, and what you wrote is still there. A note you never typed in is not saved.

■ A clearer folder picker
Folders with subfolders can now be collapsed and expanded, and the folder you have chosen is ticked. "Create folder" stays pinned at the bottom instead of waiting at the end of the list. The folder name in the note editor is wider, so longer names stay readable.

■ Also
- Pressing Return in the title moves you to the body
- Signing out now takes you straight to the sign-in screen
- One consistent empty state across notes, folders, tags and search — an icon and a line of text, no box
- The translucent top bar now matches the page behind it

### 1.3.1 — 2026-09-07

[Update highlights] AI chat got smarter and keeps working after you close the app. Plus new dedicated Shopping List & Recipe folders, and new Plus / Pro plans.

▼ AI Chat Mode: finish everything without opening a memo
Switch to AI Chat Mode from the toggle at the top. Creating, organizing, searching, and researching notes — just ask in chat and it's done. You can always see what the AI is doing right now (thinking / creating a note / searching), so you never wonder whether it's stuck or working.

▼ Close the app — the AI keeps going
Ask the AI to do something in chat, then close the app: it keeps working on our servers and sends you a push notification when it's done. It picks the turn back up even across a force-quit or restart. No more waiting in front of the app.

▼ The AI got smarter and more autonomous
- Creating and updating notes applies instantly, no confirmation needed (deleting and merging still always ask first)
- It decides on its own when to search the web — for a URL you paste, or anything time-sensitive
- Handles much bigger jobs in one turn; if it hits the limit it tells you what's saved so far and picks up again when you say "continue"
- Better at filing notes into the right folder (no more mixing up similarly-named folders)
- Choose between a "Standard" and a "Fast" AI engine in Settings

[New] Dedicated Shopping List & Recipe folders
Three managed folders arrive: Shopping List, Purchased, and Recipes.

- Shopping list: organized as per-category memos (produce, household, ...). Each item can carry a quantity and a buy-by date. Checked items move to the Purchased list with the purchase date in one tap; fully purchased memos tidy themselves away
- Works with AI chat: just say "add milk to my shopping list" or "I bought the eggs" — the AI handles categorizing and moving items to Purchased
- Recipe ideas: the AI searches the web for real recipes and saves them with ingredients, steps, and source links. Ask for "something from what's in my fridge" and it prioritizes ingredients you've already bought, adding anything missing to the shopping list
- "I cooked this" button: one tap logs the date and deducts used ingredients from your Purchased list (quantities included)
- Favorite recipes: mark them and the AI suggests favorites first when you ask what to cook
- Optional store alerts: get notified near stores that sell items on your list, plus reminders when a buy-by date arrives. Both are off until you enable them in Settings. The bell in the top bar shows what has arrived and what is scheduled, with unread ones marked
- Links in a memo open with a tap — including the sources the AI cites
- Rebuilt first-run guide: instead of a separate slideshow it highlights the actual buttons on screen as it explains them, including how the Shopping List, Purchased, and Recipes folders work with AI chat. The full feature reference lives in Settings, under Show how-to, where you can replay the guide any time

[New] Plus and Pro plans
Creating and organizing notes, folders, tags, and voice input all stay free. AI chat comes with a monthly free allowance, and for anyone who wants more there are now paid plans.

- Plus (¥500/month): more AI than the free allowance
- Pro (¥2,000/month): for heavy use
- Both come in monthly and yearly options. Your current usage and remaining allowance are always visible in Settings, and you can change or cancel your plan there at any time.
