Other apps charge way more, sometimes double the amount for a weekly sub subscription However, this app does not have any finish books. I think there might be one that actually came to an ending. I find it super frustrating because I fell in love with some incredible books that I am still thinking about and really want to know what happened I think the publisher and developers need to have some kind of financial incentive for their authors to actually finish their books I currently have around 20 unfinished books in my library on this app I have had to stop my weekly subscription because there’s literally nothing more to read and I’m too disillusion to start another novel Because what’s the use if the authors are never going to finish or update? If the publishers ever read this review, you need to have some kind of incentive for your offers to finish and to update regularly otherwise you’re going to haemorrhage customers To be clear, I would be very happy to have the weekly subscription and be reading reading reading but there’s nothing to read **Developer response:** Hi,thank you for your kind note and nice advice. Thanks again and have a great day! ### 2/5 — Way too expensive *2026-07-15* I highly DO NOT RECOMMEND this app if you are thinking of the apps that give you unlimited reads with a subscription or the ones that allow you to watch ads to unlock chapters. Not this app! First you get maybe 4-5 small chapters free then hit with a “unlock chapter” pop up and it’s not an amount of 20-50 coins, it’s around 120 coins. You go look for options to make coins and vouchers and there are a few small options like turning on notifications but these are only 10 each so even after doing all the free options you can MAYBE unlock one chapter. You are now out of free coin options and go look to purchase a subscription that unlocks everything or purchase some coins. There is no unlimited reading subscription and the amount of coins you get are 100 coins to every dollar. Why even have a subscription if it’s useless and doesn’t give you enough to finish a story? That defeats the purpose of having a subscription AT ALL. Nobody wants to come out of pocket $500 dollars to finish a single story because many chapters go on into 200s and it’s not like they all are at a fixed price either, it just gets MORE expensive. Don’t waste your time with this app, it’s a money grab in the flesh if I ever had to identify one. ### 1/5 — way too expensive *2026-07-10* really **Developer response:** 1. It takes about 130 “coins” to unlock a chapter… basically to read 100 chapters you will pay more than $100. They don’t offer an unlimited reading subscription option so unless you are rolling in cash, don’t waste your money. There are other apps with better payment options. ### 2/5 — Thieves/no response *2026-06-10, version 2.3.0* Besides the status quo every once in a while I come across a unique story. I have paid up to the two hundred mark. It is on going and the author is publishing 2 chapters a month. No problem. After a while earlier names and events kind of became a blur. So I decided to re read to refresh my memory. They changed me again for chapters I already paid. I sent feedback and never received a response. I’m giving it two stars because I really like the story. ### 2/5 — No end to the stories they sell *2026-06-04, version 2.3.0* My complaints about this app are endless. It’s really scammy, takes your time or money, and in my experience has never honored the agreements or packages it sells. I paid for unlimited book access with no ads, and the app forced me to watch ads when I tried to open it. I also tried a monthly subscription and conveniently it never awarded what it advertised. And then, after all of this, I was stupidly still super into 3 different books. After taking my time with stupidly ads and more money than I’d like to admit—there’s no end to the stories I’d given up resources for. They just end after a certain chapter. This awful app tries to hook you on an interesting story, but there’s no end or conclusion to the story. They just want to string you along indefinitely with no game plan for later. Please don’t waste any of your time or money on this app!! ### 1/5 — Beware *2026-06-03, version 2.3.0* Books cost around $150 to read to completion. ### 1/5 — Can’t cancel my subscription. *2026-06-03* I purchased the weekly subscription for $9.99, but after a few weeks I decided the platform wasn't a good fit for me and was not worth the cost. I followed the app's instructions multiple times to manage and cancel my subscription, yet I continue to be charged every week. After repeated unsuccessful attempts to cancel, I deleted my account and even placed a stop payment on the charges. Despite this, the company continues attempting to charge my card—now on what appears to be a daily basis for the same weekly subscription. The most frustrating part is that there is no readily available customer support or contact information to resolve the issue. I cannot recommend a service that makes it so difficult to cancel a subscription and stop unauthorized billing attempts. ### 1/5 — Ridiculous pricing *2026-05-30, version 2.3.0* I spent almost $100 dollars reading a single book— and I didn’t event get to the end. I unlocked all off the chapters but the book itself wasn’t finished— more chapters to come. I got a pop up offer for $9.99 weekly. I finished the book I was reading and forgot about the subscription. It charged me the next week and I tried to cancel it but there’s no option to cancel anywhere! It’s not in my coin banner, not in my subscriptions tab in my settings, and I’ve tried to email them. I ended up terminating my account hoping that would cancel it automatically, but NOPE, it’s still charging me weekly!! I’ve been disputing it through my bank but it still continues to charge me every week! I don’t even use the app anymore. If anyone found a solution, please let me know. It’s such a scam. ### 1/5 — Difficult to cancel *2026-05-26, version 2.3.0* This app isn’t user friendly when it comes to trying to cancel the subscription. No clear links to cancel subscription! ### 1/5 — Inconsistent & high prices *2026-05-25* I’ve been reading for the past month using just the vouchers you can get from watching videos and visiting partner websites etc. I was getting 10 free chapters a day too (if I watched 20 videos), but as soon as I spent £2.99 to unlock some more chapters, most of those opportunities to get vouchers for free disappeared. Chapters can vary in length, some being long and detailed and others don’t even complete a conversation between 2 characters. Book length varies massively too, one book would take nearly 40,000 vouchers to unlock the whole book (£400!!). Update: They keep telling us to go to the coin package banner but it isn’t even under my subscription because it went under my email in Apple Pay. So how the heck am I suppose to cancel it then? Each “chapter” is a roughly a page. Hard to cancel. The link it sends you sends you to your subscriptions but there is not one for novellair. They don’t respond to emails. My account says I have a subscription but still asks me to subscribe! I can see the payment, but it doesn’t show up in my phone subscriptions either!
