### 1/5 — Can’t read data

*2023-06-17, version 4.0.5*

Ap doesn’t work. Unable to read any data

### 1/5 — Can’t get to work

*2023-04-24, version 4.0.5*

Swipe through the 6 or 7 pages then goes back to beginning. How do you get it to start working?

### 1/5 — No support

*2023-02-27, version 4.0.5*

App looks great but there’s a few bugs that means it will take a while to get anything useful out of it.

There’s nothing you can get useful out of the free app so you need to pay a subscription. Not so bad but even the base tier doesn’t give you time stamps and the support from the developer is non existent. Don’t fancy splurging for the top tier subscription to see what I would get in that and documentation is very light from the developer.

Poor app. Great concept, poorly implemented.

### 1/5 — Connection analyzer doesn't work

*2023-02-23*

I subscribed in order to unlock the connection analyzer, but it doesn't display any information, just a blank pane. All the Advanced Analysis pages are blank too. Cancelled and refund requested.

**Developer response:** UPDATE: Please try the 5.1.0 update. We hope all your concerns have now been addressed and if you have iOS 17 you can see live data as well as process logs.

Thank you for you feedback. It seems like nOversight couldn’t find any Wi-Fi information in the log you captured. We will use your feedback to ensure a subscription is only offered when the log has usable info and the subscription will have value. We will also ensure there is some feedback provided when there is no usable info in that particular log.

It does work for many people so If you would like to try again after spending some time connected to Wi-Fi then you can do that without a subscription. A working log will show you the name of your WiFi connections and when you select a name, you should see the distribution of signal strengths over the past few hours. If you get that information displayed then a subscription will allow full analytics.

If it continues not to work then you can always raise a support request at nOversight.com and we will help you.

### 1/5 — Can’t get it to do anything.

*2022-12-07*

First of all, there’s nothing easy about this app. I installed it and expected to be able to see my Wi-Fi final or at least some sort of UI. Instead I’m asked to press vol up + vol down + power. Which takes a screenshot? It’s supposed to generate a log of some sort but it’s not at all for me. Really had high hopes too

**Developer response:** UPDATE: Please try the latest 5.1.0 release. We have taken your comments to improve things and with iOS 17, can now provide live Wi-Fi data.

We are sorry it didn’t work out for you. Unfortunately there is no other way to get this info on Apple devices which is why you won’t find another iPhone or iPad app which can give you the information you want.

nOversight is the first app to be able to do this at all. The method of pressing Vol Up + Vol Down + Power is the Apple way to capture a diagnostic log. We didn’t create it and have to live with it if we want any access to this kind of info at all.

We recognise this can be tricky which is why the app is completely free up to a point so you can try it out without any commitment.

There is another method using the device’s accessibility functions but this is also not a great user experience. Again it is an Apple defined process. Prompted by your review, we will write a guide for it.

You contacted us via support and we responded within a few hours. We will use this channel to inform you of the other methods and learn if this is easier.

### 1/5 — Ерунда

*2025-01-23*

Не работает

### 1/5 — No Bueno.

*2024-11-29*

Wants to use your location and send data back to them, effectively bending you over. No bueno senor. You can keep your app.

### 1/5 — Also unable to do anything

*2024-10-24*

Tried to turn on one item and it jumped to Shortcuts and then to another screen to install something else but as a popup - no information provided.
Another screen wanted me to enable a bunch of settings and called it “Touch”. No idea what that is.
Then checked info and saw prices in British pounds to purchase additional features.
So as a cybersecurity expert, didn’t trust a single thing about this.

### 1/5 — Says not subscribe

*2024-10-08*

It constantly says that I’m not subscribed when I am subscribed now then it tells me to login, but I’m already logged in. I’m having problems with my network, but I can’t analyze it to see what the issue is. What’s the point of paying for a whole year if I can barely use it when I need to.

### 1/5 — Asks to share data with the server

*2024-10-04*

Tried to analyze the signal (using a shortcut as the app requires) and immediately been prompted to confirm that I want to share data.
There is no option not to share.

Didn’t find a way to scan bands without sending anything anywhere

**Developer response:** Thanks for your comment. The share data is only between the shortcut and the app. No data ever leaves the app. This message was added to ensure we are fully transparent with users that data from the shortcut is passed to the app. We will look into improving the wording to ensure this is easier to understand that no data ever leaves the device.

It is worth mentioning that Apple do not provide any APIs for this activity and this is the only way any WiFi signal data can be displayed in an app as it allows for a user prompted and approved process. This is why there are not many other apps like this.

Again, Please rest assured no data leaves the app and if you do decide to give it another go and like it then we would be grateful for your continued feedback.

### 1/5 — Didn’t do anything

*2024-05-29*

Never got it to do anything. layout needs work as well, lots of overlapping and unreadable text.

### 1/5 — 0 stars would be more accurate

*2024-01-30*

I couldn’t get this to do ANYTHING without needing to buy something. I passed and uninstalled it.

**Developer response:** We are sorry it did not work for you. nOversight requires iOS17 to work in live mode. If you have iOs 16 or lower some features are not available.
The latest 5.1.0 release additionally makes the importing of logs easier on all versions of iOS.
We hope you can experience the benefits from the latest release.
Thanks for your feedback! We really appreciate it.

### 1/5 — It doesn’t do anything

*2024-01-29*

The only thing I can get it to do is ask for the logs on my phone to “analyze.” Nothing else seems to work. It almost feels like it’s harvesting my information.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your feedback! nOversight requires iOS17 to work in live mode. If you have iOS 16 or lower some features are not available. The latest 5.1.0 release additionally makes the importing of logs easier on all versions of iOS. We hope you can experience the benefits from the latest release.

We also would like to stress that there is no information leaving your device. nOversight does not use any online services. All logs are processed on the device to protect your privacy.

Please give the latest version another go. We hope you get a better result.

### 5/5 — Unparalleled information

*2025-02-20*

Those complaining about how this has to install - blame Apple, not the developer.
I do Wi-Fi professionally and the amount of information it is able to gather is unbelievable. This is the very best app for deep Wi-Fi analysis on iOS!

### 5/5 — Best iOS WiFi analyzer

*2024-04-22*

Without needing extra hardware this is by far the best wifi analyzer out there, the setup takes a minute to do but it guides you the whole way and works great without having to break out a dedicated analyzer

### 5/5 — Excellent app!

*2024-01-22, version 5.0.0*

This is an excellent free Wi-Fi analysis app aimed a little more towards professionals but not that difficult to use and provides an amazing amount of information. Certainly the most comprehensive free Wi-Fi analyser for iOS. Thanks guys

### 5/5 — Provides amazing insight for wifi pro’s

*2023-11-09*

This is not a tool for the average consumer. It requires a little technical knowhow in how to use and analyze results, but is one of the most unique wifi tools I’ve ever seen in the App Store. kudos to the ingenius developers that figured out how to do this as a historically, been restricted to android apps

### 5/5 — Helped with Wifi setup

*2022-12-13, version 4.0.5*

Finally, I’ve been up all night struggling with the Wi-Fi in the bedroom and this app let me find the problem. Now I can see what’s going on with the phone, it keeps connecting to the 5GHz network in the utility room miles away. Stupid Apple. I need move the repeater. Sorted.

### 5/5 — A must have

*2022-12-12, version 4.0.5*

The best iOS app for Wi-Fi engineers!

### 5/5 — Best WiFi tool for IOS

*2022-11-11*

This is the absolute best tool to analyze my WiFi connection directly from my iPhone!!!

### 4/5 — Unique features

*2023-10-09, version 5.0.0*

Interesting WiFi tool. It is unique, among the apps I found, in analysing captured syslogs. It also provides useful live information (using a shortcut). It still has a few bugs but the developer is very responsive and over the two versions I’ve used I’ve already seen large improvements.
