## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 3/5 — Flash

*2012-10-26*

Great for hammering through piles of flash cards. If there was pronunciations- it would be a 5/5

### 3/5 — Can't delete

*2012-01-31, version 1.1*

I can't delete chapters from a box I added by accident. Also, I would like to find a way to look at the characters before adding the whole chapter into a box.

### 3/5 — Just flashcards

*2011-12-08*

Ok for learning. Well, i miss being able to write the characters by myself and there is no actual pronounciation. Just flascards...

### 4/5 — Great app to practice

*2021-11-21*

My only complaint is that the ads are so loud. I practice at night before I go to bed and the app has no sound…. But the very occasional and random ads are loud! Super disruptive. But I am on book 4 of NPCR and I love the ability to go back and refresh old vocabulary or reinforce new.

### 4/5 — Very useful

*2018-10-07*

I really like this app and it helps me prepare for my Chinese lessons. I wish there was an Apple Watch version available.

### 4/5 — Great for learning on-the-go

*2013-01-08*

Great app for reviewing vocabulary while on the bus, train or similarly traveling! I've been using it for more than a year now as support to my regular, "normal" vocabulary revision and it's helped quite a bit. Fellow students I recommended this app to are similarly happy!

I can wholeheartedly recommend this app to anyone working with the NPCR books in their studies!

A great improvement would be an update to a more recent version of the NPCR books and their vocabulary lists; also, input of chinese characters and/or audio for the chinese words would be awesome, but I understand that especially the latter improvement is probably out of scope of this app.

### 4/5 — Handy

*2012-10-19, version 1.2*

Would be better with audio and more customizable features. But useful in remembering what you have gotten wrong before so you can test yourself on the least strong vocab.

### 5/5 — cards download

*2020-07-28*

i can’t download card on my ipad

### 5/5 — Extremely helpful

*2019-03-18*

I have been studying Chinese using NPCR for 3 years. This is the best and most helpful Chinese app I found. It’s been really helpful in learning all the characters I need to know. Just what I was looking for.

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2019-02-24, version 2.0*

It really does help. Some improvement would be to make the swiping a bit more fluid.

## Most praised reviews (3 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Excellent App

*2013-11-24, version 1.2*

Perfect app if you are using NPCR to study chinese.

### 5/5 — Great for vocab review

*2013-06-18*

This app has helped me a lot for daily vocab review. It allows to very effectively review the words that u still struggle on. Very good system. I can definitely recommend using it.

Ideas for improvement:
- would be good to have the option to delete flashcards from a box (while reviewing). I also use box 1 to clean the vocal list
- would be good to add supplementary words separately.
- don't love the digital font of the characters but got used to it as the app is better than others with more favorable font.

### 5/5 — Useful app

*2012-09-19*

Very useful app. Helps a great deal with my Mandarin Chinese 1 class.
