Second, many of the listings are simply wrong. Finally, there's no indicator to show how powerful the station is: often far-away stations are much stronger. It showed a table of stations with signal strength icons. And you could click to read if their music or news. This is a useless map with distances that tells me nothing I can use to make a decision. Now wherever I'm traveling I can just hop in my rental car, glance at my watch or phone and tune in to NPR! Thank you for the iOS update👍🏼 ### 5/5 — NPR Station Locater *2016-07-16, version 1.4* The earlier version of this app measured distance to nearby NPR stations from Kansas(?) due to a change in the iOS. That resulted in some foolish comments of criticism. The app is now perfect; it shows distance from your phone to the nearby NPR stations, in order of increasing distance. I use this when on a road trip; it’s easier than groping the low end of the dial to sift NPR out from the stations of no interest. The cool thing is, all you have to do is open the app. It automatically lists all the NPR stations from those closest to your phone to those furthest. ### 5/5 — Excellent! *2016-07-04, version 1.4* I travel frequently across the country and I absolute LOVE NPR. The map display showing your location with pin icons for the nearby stations is very convenient - you can easily touch them to see the FM frequency, so as to try them out. And best of all, you can choose a station that's ahead of you on the highway, so the signal will stay with you a longer time. ### 5/5 — NPR LISTENER MUST HAVE APP *2012-06-10, version 1.1* Since I listen to an NPR station where ever I am, this is a must have application. I followed the Wisconsin recent vote on local stations. This gave me an idea of where things were going right from the people's mouths. If I hear of an interesting happening anywhere in the country I just go to a local station in that State to get the latest news. ### 5/5 — Great App! *2012-04-21, version 1.1* This app is great -- love the map feature. This one works, however the database is not up to date. Perhaps this is NPR, or the author, anyway WXEL FM was sold in 2011 and is no longer NPR. It is still in the list.
