## What is nRF Blinky?

nRF Blinky is an application targeted towards developers who are new to Bluetooth Low Energy.

nRF Blinky has the following features:
- Scan and connect to any nRF5 DK containing the Nordic Semiconductor’s proprietary LED/Button Service.
- Toggle the LED on the development kit On and Off from within the application.
- Receive Button press and release events from the development kit and display it within the application.

This application is open sourced and the is written in Swift 5 and available on GitHub:

### 1.6.0 — 2025-10-18

The UI was adjusted for iOS26.

### 1.5.0 — 2025-03-25

This version improves reconnection to you Blinky device. On iOS 17 or newer the device should reconnect automatically, but we also added a button for older iOS versions.
You don't need to be worry when you loose connection to your Blinky sample!

### 1.4.1 — 2023-03-07

This version fixes an issue with testing Blinky on a Thingy:53, which doesn't allow to read the LED state.
Keep blinking.

### 1.4.0 — 2023-03-02

Underlying CoreBluetooth Mock library has been updated. Because of that the minimum iOS version was increased to 11.

### 1.3.1 — 2020-08-07

In this version we improved error handling. When your blinky fail to connect, you'll know why.
