### 3/5 — Good tool conceptually but database is unreliable

*2023-11-20*

The tool is not bad conceptually however I just checked out my home airport EDHL and three major frequencies were incorrect or at least imprecise. ATIS real 119,93 to NRST 119,925; Tower real 128,705 to NRST 128,7; GRD real 121,780 to NRST 121,775. This to me is quite unacceptable but should be fixed easily. Furthermore is the tool quite lean from the provided functions and settings however for the watch worth a try.

### 3/5 — Works reasonably well.

*2021-11-18, version 6.3*

One request is that for the watch app to work best, needs a complication so that the app can be easily opened from the watch face.

### 4/5 — Apple watch Complication

*2019-09-01*

Love the app. The only drawback is no Apple watch complication. This would make it much faster to access for a quick glance while flying.

### 1/5 — Screen design issues

*2018-02-20, version 5.4*

Doesn't work on 5SE.
Screen design too big. Setting switches are outside of the visible area.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t work on latest Apple Watch

*2017-11-03*

Will not download data to the high end Apple Watch. Constantly attempts download, but errors before completing requiring download to start again at the beginning. No response from the help desk. Would not buy again. Do not recommend buying it if you want the Watch capability.

### 1/5 — Weak; expensive

*2016-12-23, version 5.0*

Not terrible but you can get the same features in a better or similar interface elsewhere. And don't pay the $17.99 fee. The watch part is cool but still not worth the price. "Free" trial is bs, sorry.

And to me a lot of the reviews look more like fake gamers than pilots.

### 4/5 — Problems solved

*2015-12-01*

Toonsy was very responsive. The biggest issue was that the watch software needed to be updated to 2.0 (nrst simply doesn't work on older versions). The iPad "freeze" was finally fixed with a hard reboot.

### 5/5 — Great App

*2015-11-15*

Used it the first time today - it did everything it was supposed to do. The App was exactly what I was looking for. The bonus is it is simple, uncluttered, easy to use, functional, with a perfect display. It is simply an elegant product.

### 1/5 — Crash

*2015-10-06, version 2.5*

When I open the app on my Watch and select one of the airports, the app crashes. Please fix this ASAP I just wasted 11$!!!

### 5/5 — Excellent app

*2015-06-05*

Very helpful to any pilot. TOD and nearest airport could be a lifesaver. For this price and what it could provide in an emergency, PRICELESS! Have this capability on my glass panel, but I am incessantly desiring 2nd or 3rd levels of redundancy. Highly recommend

### 1/5 — Sigh, another app that requires a monthly sub

*2023-01-08*

No idea if this would be of any use as requires tying up to a monthly/yearly sub. I’m speaking to you as the developer, you’ve lost out on actual money by chasing after the subscription model. Utter madness SMH.

### 1/5 — Fee only

*2022-08-27*

This thing will not do anything without a subscription. Totally misleading…

### 1/5 — Keeps wanting me to verify my

*2021-02-07*

Purchase and saying that the connection is lost and downloading stuff that is already downloaded and used. Bro...ken.

### 1/5 — Doesn’t download

*2020-07-31, version 6.0*

Good plan. Poor execution. The database won’t download on Apple Watch. After multiple attempts and troubleshooting, all I get is a sad face emoji. Not even an error code, just an emoji.

### 1/5 — Developer out of business

*2020-07-19, version 6.0*

App doesn’t work. Developer out of business. Don’t give Apple your money for this app.

### 1/5 — Do not waste your money.

*2020-07-10*

Spent the dollars to use on Apple Watch. Database does not want to download to watch (but does to phone).

Also appears to be an abandoned project.

I like the concept, I just wish it worked on my Watch at the developer was active and responsive.

### 1/5 — Worthless for Apple Watch

*2020-03-20, version 6.0*

Bought the app primarily for the watch app. It does not download database to watch and, though purchased, won’t download. Rip off!!

### 1/5 — This MIGHT be a great app ...

*2019-02-02, version 6.0*

... but I’ll never know, because a non-refundable subscription is required to try it out ...

### 1/5 — Does not work with watch gen 4

*2018-12-28*

Pro: $12/y Phone app works well.
Cons: $18/y subscription to watch is a waste of money if you want to use it on watch gen 4. Watch app doesn’t want to download/install initial database, keeps saying that subscription expired.
Apps Resets/re-downloads/re-installations do not change this. There is no way to force watch app to sync with database.
Tried on 2 watches. Identical experience.

### 1/5 — NRST Navigation App does not work on the Apple Watch

*2018-03-28*

Page one: “GPS signal is required to find nearby airports”. This has never found a satellite yet on my new series 3 GPS watch.

Page two: The course information sometimes populates. The G speed and altitude works most of the time.

Page 3: Detail page is always blank with no airport info.

Page 4: accuracy is within approx 19’ x9’. The data base shows downloading 0%

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Best watch flying app

*2024-11-28*

Finally a real stand alone flying app for the watch! It’s nice to use the watch as a glorified remote control for the phone

### 5/5 — Great in Chile, South America

*2024-07-16*

I had flown in many places in Chile, Uruguay and Argentina and it’s always spot on. The runway orientation is also good help, same as Apple Watch app. It’s a very unique app in simplicity which helps usability enormously and in the end it’s one of its greatest strengths.

### 5/5 — Great backup plan for your EFB

*2020-09-21*

My CFI got me completely lost, even changed the heading indicator with the purpose of finding my way using the app, sure enough the app put me on top of the nearest airport.

### 5/5 — Pretty good

*2018-11-24*

Occasional hiccup with Watch app that I attribute more to the watch.
Probably had to do with syncing to new phone.

### 5/5 — Perfect!

*2018-10-06*

I love using this on my Apple Watch while I fly!

### 5/5 — I Love This App

*2017-01-27*

I really like app much better than Xavion. Xavion has been tweaked to death and also wants $9.95 per month to keep it working.

Update after a year of use; I absolutely love this app. I have it running on a mini iPad mounted on the post between my windscreen and the pilot’s window. Both safety and convenience are enhanced by it use. As soon as I get close enough to my landing airport I will activate that airport and then go back to the "Nearest Airport" (Just in case). It will tell you the pattern altitude and also give you the time to start your decent at whatever decent rate you have programmed into it. It has never given any trouble at all and works well (mounted in that window) with only the iPad’s GPS. One of my more useful aviation apps. Update after over 100 hours airtime with this app; NRST has worked perfect and never given a minute of problems. I especially like the “TOD” feature that tells me when it’s time to start my decent. I normally fly from 6,000 to 9,000 feet and like not having to calculate my time to descend. I’ve noticed a couple of 1 Star ratings and do not have a clue as to why. Great aviation app.

### 5/5 — NRST - Great App

*2016-06-24*

This is a great and very useful app to have available in the cockpit.

### 5/5 — Great app for situational awareness

*2016-04-18*

Bought this app last week and did a cross country flight. Compared the reading to my Garmin 430W and were the same. Great app for situational awareness and gives TOD to the airports. I had a question and emailed the developer and was back to me very quick.

If you fly cross country and not familiar with all the location of the airports this is something you should have.

### 5/5 — Awesome!!!

*2016-02-18*

I've used this app on two flights so far and I love the TOD feature. If you're a pilot you must go buy the watch and download this app!!!

### 5/5 — Works as advertised

*2015-12-09*

Very useful for avoiding constant mental math. Does what it says.

Would be nice to see a configurable audio "500 ft" call-out. (Or other configureable altitude)
