## What is NTFY me?

ntfy NextGen is an actively maintained iOS client for ntfy, the simple HTTP-based publish/subscribe notification service. Send yourself a push notification with a single PUT or POST request - from a shell script, a cron job, a CI pipeline, a NAS, or anything else that can make an HTTP call.

Point it at ntfy.sh or at your own self-hosted server.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

- Subscribe to any number of topics, on any number of servers
- Give a topic your own name, so "server-alerts" can read "Home server"
- See each topic's name, full address, and notification count at a glance
- Receive messages with titles, priorities, emoji tags, and click actions
- Open attachments, and choose whether they download automatically or on a size limit
- Break through Focus and silent mode with Critical Alerts for max-priority messages
- Reach read-protected topics with per-server username and password
- Works on iPhone and iPad

ABOUT THIS CLIENT

This is a community-maintained fork of the official ntfy iOS app, focused on fixing iOS bugs and keeping the client current. Recent work includes correcting notification titles for renamed subscriptions, hardening push-token handling so notifications keep arriving after a token rotation, honoring the attachment download setting on the push path, and reworking the subscription list so long self-hosted hostnames no longer hide which topic you are looking at.

ntfy itself is created and maintained by Philipp C. Heckel. The original iOS app was written by Copephobia. This client is MIT-licensed, like its upstream, and remains open source.

### 1.11.0 — 2026-08-29

Fixes for several reliability and privacy problems, a few of which could cost you data.

• Editing a saved server user no longer erases its password. Previously, changing a username and leaving the password field blank — as the screen itself suggested — deleted the stored password, after which that server silently stopped working.
• Removing a server now removes its saved password too, instead of leaving it on the device.
• Attachments arriving with a notification are downloaded within a size limit, so a very large attachment can no longer fill up your device in the background.
• Message contents are no longer written to the system log. Notification bodies, links and sign-in details stay inside the app.
• Notifications are more reliable on slow or self-hosted servers: the app now finishes processing well within the time iOS allows, so you get the real message instead of a placeholder.
• The app no longer fails to start if its configuration is incomplete.
• VoiceOver again reads a message body as text rather than as an editable field.

### 1.10.0 — 2026-08-27

Links in messages now behave the way they do everywhere else on iOS.

• Press and hold a link to get the standard menu: Open, Copy Link, Share, Add to Reading List — with a page preview.
• Press and hold ordinary message text to select it, with the usual handles and Copy, so you can take just the part you need.
• Tapping a link now opens only that link.
• Links are detected consistently in message titles as well as bodies, and long URLs stay tappable across line wraps.
