TWO MODES
• QUICK — instant on-device translation via Apple's framework. No internet needed. Works for short messages, signs, menus, in-the-moment exchanges.
• SMART — tone-aware AI translation that adjusts for context. Pick a tone (Friendly, Professional, Direct, Warm) and Nuance rewrites your message the way a native speaker actually would, in the target language and register.

• Reply suggestions: three ways to respond, in their language and yours
• Conversation memory: Nuance remembers names, roles, and the thread you're on

QUICK MODE IS PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
Quick mode runs entirely on your device. Nothing is sent to any server.

SMART MODE OPT-IN
Smart mode uses a 3rd-party AI service (DeepSeek) for tone-aware translation. The text you choose to translate is sent over HTTPS for processing. Nothing else is collected.
