To make this app more appealing, I suggest adding a few more common isotopes to the "free" version, such as Americium 241, Cobalt 60, and/or Nickel 63. ### 1/5 — Ripped me off *2011-08-03, version 1.0* I paid for extension but still can't access anything above hydrogen! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Sneaky *2014-01-21, version 1.2* Requires an in-app purchase to be useful, but they want you to buy it without telling you how much it is. Now, however it has become completely useless unless you purchase the "extension". Why not just be up front about it and charge for the app from the beginning and unlock all the features? At the very least, allow some access to heavier isotopes to get a better feel for the app if you're going to charge extra for the full version. I probably would upgrade this app anyway, if I were still working in this particular area of science. As things stand now, I'll be putting my money elsewhere. ### 1/5 — WRONG INFO! *2013-04-03, version 1.1* Look at Co-57. The program incorrectly show a strong beta released that is not there. In fact most of the electron capture nuclide emission information would be incorrect. ### 1/5 — Ripoff *2013-03-20, version 1.1* You have to purchase separate app extension for each isotope to see details. ### 1/5 — Not enough info *2012-09-15, version 1.1* The chart of the nuclides is a natural for pinching and swiping, so this is a good interface. Unfortunately, the free version is useless. With only Hydrogen filled in, I can't get a feel for how it handles more-complicated nuclei. The extension is cheap at $1.99, but I don't like the deception so I will not be purchasing. But now it says I can't access the extension anymore. What happened??? I tried to contact customer support, but couldn't find a way to access the developer. Lame. I would rate this 5 stars IF I COULD JUST USE THE FEATURES I PAID FOR. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 4/5 — Good, functional nuclide chart *2016-01-27, version 1.2.1* I like the extension feature that graphically displays the decay transformation. When you select an isotope, it displays the decay modes. When you select the decay mode, it jumps back to the chart and shows the tranformation to the next isotope, which you can select and continue the visualization of the chain of transformations. Note that this feature requires the $1.99 in app purchase, but is well worth it! ### 4/5 — Very nice *2014-07-18, version 1.2* Great app. $2. I don 't know why that isn't on the description. No! It is not $2 per nuclide. It is a one-time payment for all. ### 4/5 — Charges you, but worth the price *2013-10-10, version 1.2* This app costs $2, the developer does not mention that in the description. However, it is one of the easiest to use nuclide charts around, and is very accurate. Only 4 stars because of the hidden purchase, but the price is negligible, considering what you are getting. I initially got the issue where I payed for it and didn't download, but after trying again it worked, and I was only charged once. This is the most fluid include table available, it looks nice and makes it easy to scroll and zoom. I have yet to find any incorrect information yet, after comparing values to both Korean charts and BNL data. It is not all-inclusive with information but has mostly everything you could need for nuclear calculation, at least for introductory levels. ### 4/5 — So close, but lacking *2012-08-18, version 1.1* Not much use without the paid extension but well worth the price of the extension. The fact that you can press the decay mode on the isotope page and that this takes you to the isotope cell on the chart is a nice touch. Still, it lacks information usually contained on a nucleotide chart. Why aren't the activation and fission cross sections included. Gamma energies are not included. There is no information on metastable states. It would be worth another $2 and 5 stars if all the information usually included on a nucleotide chart were included. ### 4/5 — Useful but could use more information *2012-05-22, version 1.1* This is a reasonably well-implemented chart of the nuclides from one of the databases maintained at (I think) Brookhaven. It would be nice to have some more detailed information like decay schemes, but this is a good start and already useful. ### 3/5 — Good but needs some help *2012-10-13, version 1.1* I use this app for response work and we use gamma energy for detection. We run across medical isotopes frequently. You need to make an update with gamma/x-ray energies and meta stable states. At least have an option to read half-life in seconds, minutes, hours, days, and years. Also a quick ID of whether it is a natural occurring isotope, medical, or man made. This app would be worth 5-6 dollars if all that was included in a useable format. ### 3/5 — Good start *2011-07-29, version 1.0* This is a good app for quickly looking up nuclear data. When purchasing, I thought gamma decay schemes and energies were included, hence only 3 stars. Perhaps it can be added in an update? Heck, I'd pay $2-3 for it. ### 3/5 — Nice implementation *2011-07-25, version 1.0* This is a good implementation for iPad of the BNL Interactive Chart of the Nuclides. Needs a few corrections: 1. Locations for A and N in chart are reverse of that given in Help. 2. Should label Z and N for islands of stability as a guidepost. 3. Use full known precision for half-lives when converting to units other than seconds. Possibly use most appropriate units only, as BNL does. 4. For better contrast, don't use color code for half-lives in isotope pages. 5. Spell out beta & alpha in isotope pages, vs confusing B- & A. ### 2/5 — Not ready for iPhone X *2018-04-12, version 1.3* Hasn’t worked by touching isotopes since I got a new phone.
