There’s no option to be flexible. Only able to create one schedule. What about a summer schedule? What about an away schedule? The quality of the components sure better be good because we have paid top dollar for a device. I’m talking about the signature model. The app is also not connecting with either Google or Alexa. This is one of the main reasons I spent the extra money over the home model. When I called to report, it would not connect, it is nice that it was easy to reach support, but I was surprised to hear that they ladies say that you shouldn’t believe the reviews because of the kind of people that leave reviews. I thought to myself at the time how asinine that attitude was since I was calling because none of the features that I paid for are working. I bought mine on eBay and the ability to return. It is kind of a lot of effort. The jury is still out though. I’m really tempted to go through that effort. ### 2/5 — App not maintained *2025-03-01, version 1.4.5* Loved this app until they stopped providing updates and it just quit working. ### 2/5 — Archaic *2024-12-21* It surprises me that with todays a corporation such as this has such a useless app. The app has minimal functionality that’s it’s almost worth not having one. You would think that it would at least have a vacation/ away mode that could be set. All it provides is current settings and energy use. The only reason I gave it a two is because the mat does heat the tile during the times programmed. The rating could be higher if it wasn’t for such an archaic app ### 3/5 — App is buggy *2023-11-17* The app works but when ever you want to make a change to the room settings or zones, sometimes your settings don’t keep. Had renters in for a year so I did not hear anything from them about issues. I recently moved back in and reconnected the system. The app continues to show 327 degrees in all three units that I have installed - ????? ### 1/5 — Limited functionality for such an expensive thermostat *2023-04-20, version 1.4.2* This is a very basic, limited and not so good working app to control the Nu Heat Radiant floor thermostats. Its incredible that with such a good thermostat they dont make a good app. Theres not much to use there. The response is not good either, sometimes the changes on the app are not applied to the thermostat. I have 8 thermostats at home and all the same. If i could choose another option for my floors i would. Very few features of you can get it to work. Adjust the temp up it may well reset to where it was. Adjust it down and it may do it or it may log you out. Again. Nothing is intuitive. Once you understand the app, it is difficult to use. The provided options are very limited, and once set, the programming does not work. E.g., I have the thermostat set for 58°F during the day then at 5:45 PM it is programmed to change to 72°. But it doesn’t follow the program. Instead, it randomly changes settings. As I write this review, it is 2 PM and the system just changed from 58 to 72°. By way of background, I am a structural engineer, and I’m very familiar with programming. ### 1/5 — Nuheat, old App *2022-11-09* Come on guys. Maybe some innovation. IE: Alexa, Siri, new app. Dont be so lazy ### 1/5 — Terrible App *2022-07-28, version 1.4.0* I find it useless. There’s no way to add a second thermostat. And trying to program the first one is impossible. Ergo my thermostats have to be programmed manually … so what’s the point of internet connectivity? ### 1/5 — Very Frustrating *2022-06-03* We had three new heated floors and Nuheat thermostats recently installed. It’s bad enough that you have to key in a million things in on the thermostat to get the first one going, but then you have to do the same with each additional unit. E.g. connect to wifi. Then enter email. Wait for email. Then confirm unit by logging into web based account. Many other products would identify that you have just installed a similar unit on the same network and have a much easier set-up. Then the app and the web version are very different and there’s limited functionality on the app. It’s too early to tell if the product itself is good or bad, but the app, web interface and lack of consistency and functionality between the two is brutal. I am now regretting that we let our contractor pick this product without doing more research. It’s just not intuitive and is not user friendly. ### 1/5 — Cannot reset password *2022-05-08, version 1.4.0* This app needs a feature to reset the password it was working for four years now I need a password. I found the instructions for the heated floor stuck behind the thermostat on the wall and thought, this would be an excellent app for your phone. The instructions didn’t talk about it but I did find the app for it. Lame! Or the chips on the controllers are bad. It can’t change the temperature on a controller. Sometimes it randomly turns the floor heat on. The refresh rate with the wall controller is like once every six hours. I don’t know how someone could have screwed a simple WiFi controlled thermostat so bad. Instead of developing an app they should have taken that money and paid for a partnership with Ecobee/Carrier. ### 1/5 — Google Home Integration *2025-10-03, version 1.4.5* App allows you to adjust temp but has not been updated in over a year. It is better for you to log on to the website directly mynuheat.com and control from there. ### 1/5 — Developer won’t fix reported bugs *2023-12-09* We’ve reported a bug on the energy monitoring feature to the vendor several times. It’s not possible to scroll more than once, and then the scrolling feature gets stuck. So there’s no means of tracking your energy usage more than one day: you cannot track by week or by year. This feature previously worked, and it seems as though it’s appeared in the six month old release, six months is plenty of time to fix the software bug so I don’t know what the value of the energy monitoring feature is if it doesn’t work Please fix your bug software developer, or this becomes a zero star review. ### 1/5 — Almost useless *2023-10-28* Look at years of customer feedback to improve the app and yet it’s very basic and crude. I have the Nuheat upstairs with this app and the Schluter DITRA Heat system downstairs. Both systems have wifi thermostats and the Schluter system is way better. Schluter is by far the better system with most products easily available at local hardware stores. ### 1/5 — Disappointing and abysmal *2023-05-03* The app doesn’t do much. It’s hard to use and the UI is from the 1990s. If I had to guess, the engineers designed it - they were too cheap to hire a PM or a UX designer. You cannot rename thermostats. You cannot intuitively set them up. You cannot copy a program to the same thermostat. “Energy use” feature is garbage - there’s no way to tell how many actual KWH it’s using let alone what it’s costing. Only tells you when it was on by the hour. This is basic stuff and it fails. The only thing that’s worse is the thermostat itself. You can’t turn it off (at all) and the only way to turn it to vacation mode is to use the app. So Nuheat is 0 for 2 on software. I hope they read some of these reviews and hire a competent team to fix it. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Works Great for me *2024-09-12, version 1.4.5* I installed this app today 9-12-2024 and works beautifully. No idea why it is so poorly rated so I thought I’d give others confidence to install it. You do need to go to the NuHeat website and search for “how to create account” where they will direct you to your device, which you'll log onto your home WiFi, and then type in your email address. This was the only laborious part of the setup and does take a few minutes. Once done, you'll receive an email to complete the setup. ### 5/5 — Love warm floor heat *2024-07-21* In floor kitchen first install was so good we’ve added it to 1 remodeled master bath ,remodel 1/2 bath and new full bath. Even with cost considered the elimination of forced air resistance heat, burned dust , no fan noise and heating cable under tiled floors is safer, frees up wall space from resistance element wall or kickspace heat..L O V E. I had problems with the thermostat but the manufacturer replaced it immediately and I have had no issues at all. I am ready to switch out my two bathroom thermostats with the Nu heat wifi. Not only can I see the next 24hrs of weather right on the thermostat, but now I can control everything right from this app. I left work early yesterday and knew my floor heat wouldn't be kicked on yet so I just turned it on from the app. Sure enough when I got home it was toasty.
