## What is Number Line?

This app is a great tool for children to practice their idea of different scales in mathematics:
is 8 bigger than 18? Or vice versa? And what about 180? 
What seems to be obvious for adults is something all children first have to learn.
This app helps children to build a mental image of a number line which is essential for calculating.

**** Game modes ****

Mode 1: Find the correct position
Drag the owl to the correct position on the number line branch to a given number. Are you close enough to feed the owl? Take care of falling nuts! 

Mode 2: Find the correct number
The owl moves to a particular point on the number line. Enter the number you think corresponds best to her position. (iPad only)

The better the child is, the higher it will rank on the high score table!

Ws mir aufgefallen ist, dass bei 100000 der Pfeil zu Beginn nie in der Mitte ist. Soll das so sein?

Die Aufmachung ist sehr schön, leider vermisse ich für den Preis eine notwendige Präzision zum Üben. Es ist toll, dass es drei Schwierigkeitsstufen, sowie kleine bis große Zahlenräume gibt. Aber es gibt die nötige Skalierung nicht. Wenn ich mit meinem Kind Zahlenstrahlübungen machen möchte, erwarte ich zumindest im leichten Level auch die detaillierte Skala von 1-10 im Zahlenraum 100, und auch genauere Skalen im 1000er Raum. Man kann nur ungefähr 954 bei 1000 einsetzen, da die Striche nur 100-er-Schritte hergeben. Was ist das für ein Üben? Mir ist klar, dass der Bildschirm nicht mehr Platz hergibt, aber für DEN Preis ist das Angebot nicht ausreichend. Idee gut, daher 2 Sterne...Schätzaufgaben auch okay, aber sehr ungenau. Effektivität mangelhaft in großen Zahlenräumen. Schade.

**Developer response:** Hallo Frl. Liebling, danke für Ihre Bewertung. Um das innere Bild eines Zahlenstrahls aufzubauen, ist die präzise Bestimmung einer Zahl nicht notwendig. Es ist viel wichtiger, dass die Kinder erst ein Gefühl für die Grössenordnungen bekommen - ein hochpräzises Eingeben wäre dafür schlicht zu viel verlangt.  Diese App trainiert diese ersten, sehr wichtigen Schritte. Sie haben beim Kauf eine andere, darauf aufbauende Übung erwartet, und das ist ok. Sie können sich die 3 Euro unter entsprechendem Link im App Store zurückerstatten lassen.
