## What is Numza?

Numza is a budget tracker and money manager for everyday spending.

Personal finance in one place. Use the spending tracker for weekly totals, the finance tracker for cash flow, and budgets to set monthly limits. Scan a receipt, say a purchase out loud, or tap a category, and every transaction stays in one clear list.

• Receipt scanner
Snap a photo of a receipt or upload a PDF. Numza reads the merchant, total, taxes, date, and line items into a completed transaction.

• Voice expense logging
Say "Lunch $15.50" or "Received $500 salary" and the app parses it, marks it as income or expense, and files it under the right category.

• Budget guardrails
Set monthly limits for Groceries, Food, Shopping, or Bills. As a budget app, Numza warns you with color-coded progress bars before you overspend.

• Reports and cash flow
Compare weeks, see category breakdowns as donut charts, and a multi-week income versus expense trend showing your net savings.

• Subscription tracking
Recurring payments like Netflix or Spotify are logged automatically on your timezone, so billing dates stay accurate.

• Multi-currency support
Track balances and set limits across several currencies, for travel or freelance work.

• No ads, no data selling
Numza is a clean, ad-free expense manager and money tracker. It does not sell your financial data.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.10.0 — 2026-10-04

What's New

See a refund through to the money
You can now link a refund to the purchase it reverses. The refund shows whether it is still awaiting funds or has arrived, and until the money lands it no longer counts against a budget. So the month it lands in is the month it counts.

Refunds that need your attention
A card on your dashboard appears only while something is still waiting, with a one-tap Received to confirm it as it comes in, and a View all when there are more than a few. The new Refunds screen holds the full queue and a month-by-month view of what has already arrived.

Budget percentages that add up
Budget status was comparing a budget's limit against your whole cash flow, so a budget could report a figure several times its limit while its own screen showed something else entirely. It now uses the budget's own counted spend, so the percentage is the one that budget actually stands at.

Date pickers in Numza's colours
The date picker was drawing itself from the framework's default palette instead of Numza's, which is why it arrived as a washed-out grey-lavender panel with a chartreuse highlight on the selected day. It now reads from the same colours as the rest of the app, in both light and dark.

Each budget tab remembers where you were
Counted and Excluded in Budget Expenses each keep their own scroll position, so switching between them and back returns you to where you were instead of somewhere you never scrolled to.

### 1.9.0 — 2026-09-22

What's New

A bigger, clearer category list
Eleven new categories are ready to sort your spending into, covering everything from top-ups and cash to savings and remittances. Four you already use now have clearer names: Restaurants, Utilities, Donation, and General. Expenses you have already saved keep the category they were filed under.

Log faster, with the math done for you
Type a multiplier while you log and Numza does the arithmetic. "2x burger 10.99" is saved as a 10.99 item at quantity two, and a bundle like "2 for 7.50" is charged once rather than doubled. Amounts now read the way your region writes them, so a comma decimal like 12,50 and a grouped figure like 1,250.50 both land correctly, and a figure that cannot be right is refused instead of saved wrong. For the shortcuts, open the Fast Logging Tips sheet from the Add Expense bar.

Keep an expense out of a budget
Some spending belongs to your life but not to a particular budget. You can now exclude a single expense from one budget so it stops counting toward it, while every other budget still sees it.

Insights that show what you earned
The month tiles on Insights now show what you spent and what came in for each of your financial cycles, converted into your main currency, in a cleaner tile with the cycle dates spelled out.

Regenerate only when something changed
Regenerate is available only when your data has actually moved, and it asks you to confirm before it runs, so the story you already have cannot be replaced by accident.

Add Expense remembers your default
The Add Expense screen now selects the payment method you marked as your default, instead of the last one you happened to pick.

Text editing that stays where you put it
Editing the middle of an amount or a note no longer sends the cursor to the end.

Notification actions, tidied
Mark all read and Clear all have moved into the overflow menu on the Home top bar, and the counter badges on Home now keep up with your notifications.

Smaller things worth noticing
Your Insights report is labeled with your own financial cycle rather than a fixed calendar month, and the Add Income and Budget Detail selectors now use the same chip design as the rest of the app. We also fixed a long list of bugs across budgets, dates, and amounts.

### 1.8.0 — 2026-09-13

What's New

Refunds that count the right way
Money coming back to you can now be logged as a refund against the category it belongs to, so it reduces what you spent on that category instead of looking like extra income. The Add Income screen handles both, with a live preview of the effect on your budget.

Set the repeat when you add it
You no longer have to leave the expense to set up a repeat. Add an expense or income, choose a schedule in the same screen, and it becomes recurring straight away.

Your month, your start date
If your payday is not the 1st, set the day your financial month begins in Settings. Budgets and reports then follow your real cycle.

Credit cards, clearer
Save a credit card and see how much credit you have left and what you have spent since your last statement, calculated from your billing cycle rather than the calendar month.

Categories that suggest themselves
New expenses get sorted into a category for every account, not just Premium, and suggestions take your region into account.

Smaller things worth noticing
Sinking funds are easier to follow, frequent categories show up as quick shortcuts, and dated cards show the weekday and year where it helps. Widgets load their real numbers instead of flashing an empty state, notifications use the Numza mark, and we fixed a long list of bugs across budgets, currencies, and dates.

### 1.7.0 — 2026-09-05

What's New

Voice notes you can hear back
Speaking an expense now comes with sound. Watch the soundwave as you talk, see a voice-note title on your list, and replay the recording on the new Voice Note Review screen to double-check what you said. Capture happens on your device, so nothing gets lost. Voice notes that need a second look land in a Needs Review section, where you can confirm or discard them.

Multi-currency, built in
Spend in another currency and it's converted automatically to your home currency, so reports and totals stay in one place. Pick a primary currency in Settings, and see a multi-currency breakdown on your dashboard.

Payment methods, upgraded
View your cards and accounts with richer visuals, account types, credit cycles and balances. Due dates show urgency in tiers (Safe, Attention, Bad), a debit-balance chip sits on your card, and due dates are formatted for your locale.

One filter screen for My Expenses
Category, amount, date, and more now live on one filter screen instead of scattered chips.

A cleaner look overall
A new Deep Forest and Emerald palette, refreshed toggles, unified text fields, and a 12sp minimum text size so nothing feels too small.

One amount field, one currency
Enter an amount in a single field with an inline currency selector. Whole-dollar values no longer show a trailing .00.

Needs Review, in bulk
Approve or discard many pending expenses at once, across all tiers.

The weekly report has retired
The monthly report stays as your single source of insight.

### 1.6.0 — 2026-08-29

What's New

Voice entry, now for free users
Speak your expenses instead of typing. Voice entry is now available to free users, with a shared weekly quota alongside receipt scanning, so you can log on the go.

Receipt scanning got smarter
- Multi-page PDF support: scan a full statement and each page is read and extracted.
- Item-level detail: quantities and unit prices are pulled from your receipts.
- On-device privacy: PDFs are rendered to images on your device, and credit-card numbers are redacted before anything leaves your phone.
- Better merchant recognition from brand logos.

Quicky widget
Add a 2x1 home screen widget for one-tap shortcuts, with a new config screen and an anti-double-tap safeguard so a quick tap doesn't log a duplicate.

Recurring expenses
- A unified category picker and a redesigned add button on your recurring list.
- New per-budget toggle to include or exclude recurring expenses from a budget's progress.

Dashboard & navigation
- Quick action tiles with a fresh 3D clay look.
- Consolidated Income/Spent card with tap navigation.
- Faster, smoother screen transitions.

My Expenses
Search is now in the top app bar, so it's always in reach.
