## What is Nunzio?

You made the point. They asked you to say it again. By the third time, the room had moved on — and the idea went with it.

It is almost never your grammar or your vocabulary. It is a handful of specific sounds, and nobody has ever told you which ones. Adults do not get corrected. Colleagues nod along, friends adjust without noticing, and fifteen years go by without one person mentioning the vowel.

Nunzio mentions the vowel.

Nunzio is an English pronunciation coach: you read a sentence aloud, every sound you make is scored on your phone, and he tells you which one to fix and how.

HOW IT WORKS

Five sentences. About three minutes.

• Nunzio hands you an English sentence built to put particular sounds under pressure
• You read it out loud
• Every individual sound is scored against what the sentence called for
• Each word is coloured by the sounds inside it, so you can see where it slipped
• He names the single sound worth your next ten minutes — and what to change in your mouth

Then you go again.

A DIAGNOSIS, NOT A GRADE

"You scored 78%" tells you nothing you can act on. Nunzio works at the level of the individual sound, because that is the level at which pronunciation actually changes. He will tell you the vowel in SHIP is coming out as the one in SHEEP, show you which words it spoiled, and give you the mouth position that separates them.

Every sound is shown the way you would say it — "ih" as in ship — not as a phonetic symbol you would have to learn first.

Generic lists of common errors are half irrelevant to any given person. Nunzio scores what you actually said, and leaves alone everything you already do well. The practice you get is the practice you need.

People call it accent reduction, speech training, English speaking practice. Nunzio calls it what it is: a handful of sounds standing between you and being understood the first time.

YOUR VOICE NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE

The speech model runs on the device. Your recording is scored on the phone and deleted straight after — it never reaches a server, because there is no server. No account, no sign-in, no analytics. Your progress lives in a small database on the phone and disappears the moment you uninstall. Once the model is downloaded, everything works in aeroplane mode.
