I miss workouts completely and the ones that record miss big chunks of time. Really disappointing the old system worked great. Unable to open at all on my iPhone. I have contacted support twice now with no help either time. Well, I finally got it to open but it is extremely slow getting to the Start Workout part. All my workout history prior to the update was lost. I’m having to completely start over. This makes activity tracking totally useless. In the past I could start the activity, switch to a streaming app and watch something while exercising then when done I could switch back to the app and end the activity. I use this app religiously and exercise on my new step daily all of a sudden even though the Bluetooth says it's connected and. My session when I go to view it, I've only got a very few seconds of the workout session. I'm confused and I hope we can resolve the issue quickly. I know you will do your best. Thanks so much. Every time I start a workout then leave the app to listen to a book it stops recording and I lose my exercise minutes. I ### 3/5 — Needs Work *2024-08-15* This app would be so much better if it was compatible with the Apple Watch to record workouts ### 3/5 — Could be better *2023-01-27, version 1.0.1* I’ve used the original NuStep app for several years and just saw the NuStep Compsnion. I have two complaints, one major. The minor one is that my history from the original NuStep app doesn’t transfer. I could live with that, but I’d rather not. The major complaint is that when I do a NuStep workout, I record it as an elliptical on my Apple Watch. I then found out that simultaneously, an outdoor walk of the same duration was being recorded, apparently generated by the NuStep Companion. I don’t see any way to stop it. I’m going back to the original NuStep app. And why do both apps insist on looking for different NuStep machines? Might make sense at a gym, but I only have one machine at home! ### 2/5 — Not so great *2026-04-28, version 3.0.5* This app hasn’t worked all April. It freezes up when open it. I depend on it for my tracking. I hope this issue gets fixed soon. ### 2/5 — New update freezes up *2026-04-05, version 3.0.3* The new update that was all new freezes up on the startup screen. Unuseable. Not too impressive. Still need to be able to setup workout parameters from the app and completely be able to change the workout effort on a minute by minute basis to get the most out of the equipment. Had to remove the app from my phone and reinstall the app to get past the initial app splash page. After that it got past the splash page but then the “create user profile” would get into an error loop where it would no allow you to create a profile. ### 2/5 — Unimpressed! *2023-02-10, version 1.1.0* On the plus side it finally writes data to My Health app. On the downside, the display shows less data on the main screen and it will not keep the phone’s focus. On the unacceptable side, it does not impact three years of data from their old app. You would think they could find a freshman at U of M could do a better job! ### 2/5 — Missing key user friendly options *2023-02-09* 1. After a workout I didn’t have time to link my workout to record it. I went back later to do it and as far as I can tell there’s no way to do it. 2. I email my workouts to a buddy and she does the same to me - it keeps me accountable. I can see a way to email my workout. 3. NuSteo apps aren’t available to log workouts via MyFitnessPal - my Fitbit does but that isn’t useful for my NuSteo workout. This is not so useful for me.
