### 2/5 — Glitchy and Frustrating

*2026-08-09, version 2.7.20*

This app barely does the bare minimum when it comes to tracking food, and the overall experience is incredibly frustrating and far from user-friendly.
First, the app constantly logs me out. Once that happens, simply closing and reopening it doesn't work—I have to completely uninstall and reinstall the app just to get back in.
On top of the login issues, key features are completely broken:
Favorites: You can tap the heart icon to favorite an item, but saved favorites never show up when you try to look for them later.
Custom Foods: Any custom foods you create log a single time and then vanish, forcing you to start over instead of letting you reuse them.
UPC Scanner: Scanning or adding an item by UPC code fails to save the information. Once added, the app never pulls the item up by code again—it just disappears into thin air.
Overall, it’s a very poor app that lacks basic functionality and reliability. It tracks your food if you force it to, but that's about it. Needs serious updates.

### 3/5 — Flawed!

*2026-06-01, version 2.7.12*

Much of the nutrition information is wrong, even for Nutrisystem‘s own products, and many products aren’t catalogued at all. In addition, the app won’t allow users to duplicate the prior day’s entries, making entry slow and repetitive. On the plus side, the app can add and it stores voluminous history.

### 3/5 — Not as good as NUMI was, but is okay

*2026-05-27, version 2.7.01*

It is efficient in helping keep track of calories, but my beef is that “favorites” pulls up foods that were faves at one time, but I no longer prefer. Also, “recents” do not bring up my actual recently logged foods. And when I create a food, I have to do it each time, because it does not remember it. I gave it 3 stars because I can still create, even if I must do so for each food, and thus helps me keep track. Just not at all user friendly compared to Numi.

### 2/5 — Almost Useless

*2026-02-26, version 2.6.05*

The app is slow and buggy. The back button hardy works at all. They are not updating the app with new foods they release. You have to enter that information yourself and then it still won’t scan in. The last version was 10 times better. This app needs a major overhaul.

### 2/5 — Food database

*2026-02-08, version 2.6.05*

The database is seriously lacking. I have no idea how many calories are in some food when I go out to eat. It’s impossible to do so and feel successful. Major restaurants and their food in the database is VERY limited. If Nutrisystem bought out Jenny Craig, where is their database?

Also, sometimes after logging food I have to close the app before I can go back to the main page. It just gets stuck.

### 1/5 — App is horrible

*2026-02-07, version 2.6.05*

I used the app extensively over a couple of years and the was away for awhile. Apparently there have been some “upgrades” which have made it a pain to use. Performance is terrible when navigating between screens (the back link takes several tries to get it to work). Logging food in the journal is painful. The scan UPC misses more than it hits. Searching for entrees is useless. The recents section certainly isn’t convenient. Similarly with favorites. The Nutrisystem program is still effective when you follow it. The app has made it painful enough I’m looking for alternatives. If I could give it zero stars, I would.

### 1/5 — Stop changing wat isn't broken!!!

*2026-01-20, version 2.6.05*

I have been on this program a few times-it works if you really stick to it! The updated app is AWFUL however! Not user friendly..and the scanning feature has become ridiculous! The old app was GREAT and allowed you to check off things as you went thru your day! Now journaling food is impossible wirh the 'grocery' section! All it counts is calories-I'd live a running total of protein also! How bout steps instead of time??? If it weren't for the food preparedness-this program has really gone down the tubes! And bring back the Fat Burner-Lemonade Flavor w/Chromium....where did that go? Seriously NS, you've done a disservice to your entire program!

### 1/5 — Needs updating

*2026-01-20, version 2.6.05*

Won’t scan any new packaging or any Jenny Craig products. Recents shows me things I haven’t eaten in years. It’s a big waste of time trying to find non Nutrisystem foods. Please make this easier to use!

### 1/5 — Junk

*2025-12-21, version 2.6.05*

Total Junk!!!!!

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2025-12-21, version 2.6.05*

One of the worst apps. The old NuMi app will not perfect was far better. The new app opens very slowly. Navigating from page to page is slow and you painful and takes multiple touches to work. The UPC code reader inadequate, and the database doesn't even have many of their own thus they need to be added manually. They got rid of some good features like being able to move meals from one day to the next without losing it in the previous day is impossible. Also, the list of favorites are difficult to navigate and the search engine is worthless. Overall, a real stepped down from previous. Obviously, it was designed by engineers who never used it on real people. Instead of making the process of following your meals more efficient, it prolonged a painful process. They need to try again, but this time with people who actually use it.

### 1/5 — Awful app

*2025-12-16, version 2.6.05*

App is horrible not the program. This app doesn’t remember the foods u scan or manually enter. It also doesn’t recognize its own food. This was a half attempt at creating a tracking app.

### 1/5 — Sad

*2025-11-25, version 2.6.05*

I read the advertisement and thought I’d give Nutrisystem a second chance. It’s been at least 4 years. Same boring food just rebranded to sound better. Made the mistake of going with chefs choice and was dismayed when I got 8 meal replacement bars which I won’t eat and 3 desserts. 11 of my 24 meals weren’t meals at all.

### 1/5 — Can’t Handle Criticism

*2025-11-20, version 2.6.05*

It appears that if they don’t like your review, Nutrisystem deletes it! Not to mention, the app is terrible!

### 2/5 — This new app is horrible

*2025-11-16, version 2.6.05*

The Numi app was good and user friendly. The new app stinks and frustrates me to the point of planning to cancel any plan.

### 1/5 — What a mess!

*2025-11-09, version 2.6.05*

Nutrisystem’s old Numi app was top notch. This app, on the other hand, has outdated calorie counts, no information on new Nutrisystem foods, and no way to quickly enter yesterday’s foods. What’s more, it has stopped working for me four times.

### 1/5 — We gave up

*2025-10-01, version 2.6.05*

I would rate it at least a zero or even a negative 3 if those were options.
The old NuMi app was by no means perfect but my wife & I were at least able to general track our meals, hydration, & activity plus weight. There was the ability to copy & past previous meals & create & save favorites. I could look up my weight on a given day over the last few years. But this isn’t so with the new app. We shared our Nutrisystem Advantage plan to order Ala carte foods.
With the forced transfer from the NuMi app to the new Nutrisystem app, my wife lost all of her history & data as it wouldn’t import, presumably because I was the one with the Advantage plan. So with limited functionality & no history in the new app, the new app is completely useless to her. Worse still she can’t go back to access her data in the old app.
Given the significant decline in the desirability quality of the Nutrisystem food products & the significant increase in price of the food in the plan, the launch of this new app failure pretty much sealed the deal for us. Nutrisystem has become futile & we have given up.
I can’t help but wonder if the former Apple executive went to JC Penney & nearly destroyed that company has some role now at Nutrisystem as they’ve taken a fantastic product & ruined it.

### 1/5 — Don’t do it!

*2025-09-26, version 2.5.01*

This review is for both the app and the program. First the app: We did NS as a family. I was partner with one son and my husband with the other. At first, we had a difficult time connecting our partner to the app having to connect and had to reconnect a couple of times. In addition, several of the nutrisystem barcodes are not recognized by the app! The app doesn’t know their own food?! They need a big update on the barcode reader. Other than that, the app is okay. It was fairly easy to find the way around in it. Oh, there’s supposed to be this great easy to follow plan. You have to dig in the website to find the PDF. It’s not included in the app, which is what we were expecting and hoping.

Customer service from the company stinks. We received multiple melted items in multiple shipments. It took at least 20 minutes on the phone to get a refund. When I wanted to cancel, it took about an hour to get both accounts canceled. It was harder than canceling any credit card. When I was asked what I didn’t like, the customer service person argued with me about the quality of their service and their app! Just stay away.

Some of the food is pretty good. The cinnamon bun bars and chocolate peanut butter bars are my favorite. The ice cream sandwiches were okay when they arrived without being melted. Most of the meals need a bit more salt, but I’d rather them be not salty enough than too salty.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — FAILURE

*2026-07-30, version 2.7.20*

FAILURE Request Header Fields Too Large. Just joined Nutrisystem, downloaded the app. That’s the errors I get anytime I access a portion of the app that apparently pulls from a web interface.

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2026-07-26, version 2.7.17*

Bring back NUMI. I signed up again and am mad I did because this is ridiculous. It keeps logging me out and I can already see one and done. If it’s this hard to track, log, navigate, I’m out.

### 1/5 — Good luck canceling

*2026-06-02, version 2.7.12*

There is no way of canceling in the app or the chat they tell you to use. $400 later…maybe they’ll cancel on your second request

### 1/5 — WOW!! My feedback was removed by developers!

*2026-04-24, version 2.7.01*

It’s too bad that when someone leaves negative feedback about an app that hasn’t been updated for 5 to 6 months, that it gets removed from all feedback listed for that app. This app has not been updated for several months. When I left my comment, the overall rating was two stars. Somehow it jumped up to four stars without any updates. It’s very buggy and not worth the time. App does not scan Nutrisystem products all the time, it does not remember what you enter for products-you have to re-categorize your food, such as power fuel, and smart carbs every time. There are many other apps that will actually scan food by taking a picture and estimating weight and calorie content. Until Nutrisystem changes their app to what many others are doing, this is a waste of my time and yours! Use ChatGPT and tell it you are on Nutrisystem. It will map out the entire day for you and scan your food!

### 1/5 — Awful!

*2026-04-23, version 2.7.01*

I’ve been on Nutrisystem before. Great weight loss plan but whatever they did to “improve “ this app DID NOT WORK! Just to type in something like an apple or a vegetable is ridiculous. And several of Nutrisystem’s own meals or snacks aren’t even in the app. You have to manually input the info.

### 1/5 — Bring back NuMi!

*2026-04-08, version 2.6.05*

I have used NS on and off over the years, so this is my first time using “Nutrisystem” instead of “NuMi.” I feel this app is a glorified calorie tracker that doesn’t even recognize the programs own snack barcodes. The system itself is laggy so you have to hit the back button multiple times for it to respond. It doesn’t keep track of the powerfuels, smart cards, etc. you’re slotted in a day. I am very unhappy with the new interface.

### 1/5 — Used to be great

*2026-04-05, version 2.6.05*

This used to be a great app. The original incarnation of Numi was awesome. Scan and done. Logging was a fun “game” the app was easy. This new version? Total garbage. The interface sucks, most foods do not scan anymore and if you create the food, next time you scan it won’t find the scanned food.. I am not one to want to see someone lose a job but whatever team built this should be fired. From the approval manager down.. oh, question for the devs.. why do I need to sometime hit the back button 2-3 times? Wow… just wow :(

### 1/5 — Does not work properly, probably leaving Nutrisystem real soon.

*2026-03-30, version 2.6.05*

Where do I begin? Back button when entering food doesn’t work. All snacks do not scan in. Typing generic food does not match like it used to under the Numi app. Feedback to Nutrisystem Customer Service reps is useless. The app still hasn’t changed. App should provide logged time of day when entering food so one can keep track of their daily intake. And once you switch to your second week program, all your previous data gets changed. So the maximum of 1050 cal is now 1500. Why is this? It totally messes up your log/journal. Shall I continue? Change over to Weight Watchers, their app is much more stable and user-friendly.
Unless things change, canceling after month two.

DEAR DEVELOPER, I’LL SAVE YOU THE TROUBLE IN RESPONDING….

Developer Response:
Thanks for the very detailed review. It will certainly help us improve the app in the future.

Same response …. Nothing changes…. Ridiculous!

### 1/5 — Doesn’t open

*2026-03-23, version 2.6.05*

I don’t like the new app it’s more confusing and now it will not open to record food

### 1/5 — Missing Food

*2026-03-02, version 2.6.05*

Too many food items do not scan into app. Search for some food items are not in the data base. Manually entered food, manually entered nutrition information, and then scan item barcode is not remembered for future scans.
Nutrisystem is selling some items without identification printed on the packaging as to the source of the food and some with Jennie Craig label that does not scan as well.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Surprisingly Good

*2026-08-25, version 2.7.23*

I recently signed up for the Nutrisystem program. I had success with it years ago. To my surprise, the food has really improved. I’m actually enjoying it! And I’m also finding it easier to stick with the diet. The App is ok and helps you keep track of your day to stay within your calories range. I am finding some stated calories for Nutrisystem foods are “slightly” off from the new packaging. If you are on the fence about trying Nutrisystem, I’d give it a try. I’m happy so far!

### 5/5 — Easy peasy

*2025-06-08, version 2.4*

So easy to follow. Lots of options that actually taste great

### 5/5 — Cool app

*2025-02-08, version 2.1*

Cool app

### 5/5 — Numi

*2025-01-18*

My husband information did not go over correctly from Numi to the Nutrisystem app. No one can help him. It needs to be fixed

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review. Please email us at support.line@nutrisystem.com with a detailed description of the issue so we can open a ticket if necessary? Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you.

### 4/5 — New app

*2025-04-11, version 2.3.03*

New app is still clunky but somewhat better than the old app. Nutrisystem should make efforts to add all the UPC‘s that are out there for ease of users. Takes a while to open up unlike the old NuMi app

### 4/5 — Unable to distinguish the type of exercise done

*2025-02-26*

Was able to log a particular exercise done in the previous App; only option was walking.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback as we use it to improve the app. Currently, the only way to log activity is by total minutes.

### 4/5 — Drastic Improvement

*2025-01-21*

You listened to our requests! You can see each meal and the calories for that meal; type of food is automatically entered -> Power fuel, Smart carb. etc. I will rate it 5 stars when my Activity is automatically calculated

**Developer response:** Thank you for the kind words! Customer feedback is top priority for us.

### 4/5 — Will not open

*2025-01-04, version 2.1*

Useless, app will not load.

### 3/5 — Terrible app

*2026-08-21, version 2.7.23*

So hard to use. I get lots of error messages. I keep having to uninstall/reinstall.

### 3/5 — Annoying.

*2026-07-31, version 2.7.20*

I went to make changes to my next order twice and it kicks me out for some reason. I have to uninstall and reinstall the app to get back to where I can log my food. One of the CS reps told me to do that. I was totally lost the first time. So they know about it so why not fix it? I’m on day 4 and slowly figuring out how it all works, like trying to enter a fruit or vegetables.
