### 3/5 — CRENY

*2026-06-25, version 3.4.5*

It’s just ok. Interface is nothing like desk top so features seem very limited. It’s good for scanning business cards and importing contacts

### 2/5 — Camera in App is terrible

*2026-06-19*

Just started using in free trial and have hundreds of business card contacts to bring into the CRM. It’s so blurry I have to go back and correct or reenter most of the data. Not good. Can’t speak to the rest yet but an inauspicious start.

### 3/5 — Business card not captured

*2025-05-14*

When using the business card capture, the camera does not focus and the capture is full of mistakes

### 4/5 — Good CRM - but current iOS issues

*2025-03-08*

The most recent update (released tris week) has caused significant usability issues for me (apple 11 pro and 13 pro), and for a friend A13P). Unable to use the app to make calls, open web links, or use the Lists in map mode). Any others having issues? (I reported - but was told I’m the only one).

**Developer response:** Thank you for letting us know about these bugs. We've fixed them in version 3.2.4 of the app, which is available for update now.

### 2/5 — Don’t waste your time with the app

*2024-12-28*

Big fan of the desktop version but the app is just a piece of junk. Don’t waste your time downloading it or trying to work through it.

### 3/5 — iPad Optimization

*2024-10-14, version 3.2.2*

I use the desktop version daily and love it. Bummed to see app is not optimized for the iPad.

### 2/5 — Promises much but low delivery

*2024-08-15*

Would really like to be able to use the app on the go. Other than adding a new contact, the rest of the functionality is buggy and doesn’t work most of the time. App crashes when you try to upload a document or when you try to record an activity. It would be really nice if you guys put some attention into updates.

### 2/5 — Latest version of iOS completing a task causes app to crash. Need to fix!

*2024-01-16, version 3.2.2*

It’s useless for the app on a iOS if I can’t complete a task and the app crashes….

### 3/5 — No email functionality :(

*2023-02-17*

The nutshell mobile app definitely isn’t as powerful as desktop but the biggest annoyance for me is that it doesn’t have the emails functionality built in like the emails tab in the bottom left of desktop nav bar. And to make matters worse, if you open a contact and click their email address, nothing happens. It should at least launch the outlook iOS app or whatever your phone’s default mail client is but it doesn’t. Wish nutshell would bring full email functionality including open tracking to the app.

### 2/5 — I like nutshell but the iOS app is rough

*2021-08-18*

Aside from missing functionality, there are screens you can’t actually use (like logging activity). It’s simply missing a ton and surprisingly poorly made. It also crashes a lot.

### 2/5 — Not on par with desktop version

*2021-02-12*

The desktop version is intuitive and creating new or editing existing contacts is easy. The mobile app doesn’t have the same workflow. I often end up creating a duplicate company because that field is not on the primary contact setup screen. The mobile app is harder to maneuver in general. It also does not work well on an iPad, i.e., screen doesn’t rotate to landscape.

### 2/5 — I like nutshell.

*2020-10-23*

But the reason I gave it two stars and the reason I cannot use it is because of the crummy iPhone app and the fact that there is no iPad app only the iPhone app that runs on iPad. It’s looks dumb.

Sorry. I would have used nutshell if not for these things.

There are many other CRM that have all the parts. I’m not looking for bells and whistles just the requirements. Must run on Mac iPhone and iPad.

### 3/5 — Notifications?

*2020-03-02*

I really do love this CRM as a whole but man the notifications are trash. Or should I say the lack there of. Reminders I have set don’t even come through. But my reminders set to go off 30 minutes before come through...6 minutes late.. every time. Don’t know what that’s about. And when they do, the badge is never on the app.

### 3/5 — Needs an iPad version!

*2020-02-06*

Such an amazing web app on desktop in so many areas. Really good support too. BUT, I was shocked to see there wasn’t an iPad version of nutshell. Also email integration is simply limited to importing your mail as it arrives. It’s not a two way sync of your inbox - if you delete something in your email client it doesn’t sync with Nutshell like other CRMs.

### 3/5 — Useful but room for improvement

*2019-11-13*

A very useful tool and easy to use. However the iPhone application really is glitchy. Takes a very long time to load and should integrate with contacts better.

Desktop version is great. iPhone version rather poor.

### 2/5 — iPad App

*2019-11-12, version 2.4.8*

Desperately need an IPad app.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Promoted well but doesn't live up to the hype

*2026-03-04*

I've used quite a few different CRM's but this one is hard to navigate to pipeline funnel among other simple tasks. I also found that I am spending too much time hunting for things due to the layout. I am going to use Pipedrive instead.

### 1/5 — Do not get

*2025-10-29, version 3.3.0*

This app was ok, but very difficult to cancel. They only want your money

### 1/5 — Updates Needed

*2025-10-27, version 3.3.0*

Needs serious updates all around. Basically useless except as a contacts list.

### 1/5 — Come on Nutshell

*2025-09-23, version 3.3.0*

Really good desktop but doesn’t travel well for CRM.

### 1/5 — Time for a major improvement

*2024-12-31, version 3.2.2*

Last update a year ago. Many bugs and crashes. The app is not user friendly. It’s high time for a major update. As much as we like the web version, the app is simply not it! Help!

### 1/5 — E-mail can’t sync 2 at a time

*2024-07-24*

You can connect two email addresses but can’t sync them at the same time. So you can only receive email from one.
How does that even make sense?
Why allow us to set up two when you can only use one. It seems suspicious like they want to read both

### 1/5 — No native iPad app

*2024-05-14, version 3.2.2*

Sales reps still don’t have a native iPad app…

### 1/5 — Very buggy.

*2023-05-11, version 3.2.1*

Crashes often. Wouldn’t load my data. Bad interface.

### 1/5 — Clunky UI

*2023-04-28*

The app could be a lot better. The UI is clunky and dated—too many clicks to get to leads, people and companies. When you click on a phone number all it can do is call out using the phone app. Please let us choose which app to call from (Skype, OpenPhone, etc). Overall, it’s nice to have an app, but it’s just not very useful.

### 1/5 — Needs work

*2020-03-16, version 3.0.3*

Can’t see any of my google calendar events on the iOS despite them being visible on the desktop version. Can’t even contact support using the app as it loads it’s own mail page and then refuses to send.

Kinda defeats the purpose guys...

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Don’t sleep on this one.

*2025-12-23*

For both small businesses and larger organizations, the updated version of Nutshell is impressive. The platform offers robust pipeline customization, strong reporting, and meaningful AI features—putting it in direct competition with far more expensive CRM systems. The ability to manage leads, quotes, and invoices in one place, combined with comprehensive marketing tools, was the tipping point for me. It’s not free, but it’s also not overpriced—especially if you choose the plan that fits your needs.

### 5/5 — Very powerful and capable CRM

*2023-04-15, version 3.1.2*

I’ve been searching for a CRM for a new business for some time, spent many hours looking at many CRM’s such as Hubspot, Engagebay, Active campaign, Monday, Zoho, and others, wasting days on each to properly check them out. All seemed to be either to complex, to involved or just take so much time to learn, and some very expensive. I was worried that if to complex my team wouldn’t migrate and use it and it would just be a wasted exercise. I then came across Nutshell, did the usual tests and felt confident with it very quickly, it’s self intuitive and has some really powerful features. It isn’t as integrated as the likes of Hubspot, with your socials, but does enough, but that’s not key for me. What it does it does very well and is very adaptable to how you may wish to work, within days I had it fully integrated and understood most elements, teh Support is first class, although as I am in the UK I have to adhere to US time but still well worth it. It’s not expensive and can start with 1 user, integrate with all teh key software you may use and really please with how it has developed. The Mobile app isn’t as powerful as teh desktop, but very usable and enough for on the go. Well worth a look and trial. AuraFinance.uk

### 5/5 — Great experience

*2021-12-03, version 3.1.2*

Great customer service!

### 5/5 — AWESOME APP!

*2020-09-26, version 3.1.0*

It allows me to add leads on the go and right when I meet with prospects in person. Keep up the good work you guys! 5 ⭐️

### 5/5 — Great crm

*2019-09-06, version 2.4.5*

Great crm, finally one with a contact map capability. Very initiative to use. Would be great if there was more mapping capability in the app though

### 5/5 — Fantastic and customisable

*2019-03-24, version 2.3.2*

We needed a CRM that we could customize to our specific business. Nutshell is perfect for this. Add in the clean and super functional app and you have a CRM that is great value for money.

### 5/5 — Powerful for the price, keeps us on track

*2018-07-30*

Nutshell is a heavily sales-focused CRM that my team uses every day to manage and close leads and provide excellent customer service. I love this app because I can keep an eye on anything I would need to know about a customer or lead. We use the sales automation to keep us on track with our pipeline. Best CRM I’ve used, I mainly use the app for checking reports and getting info about certain customers on the spot.

### 5/5 — Great CRM!

*2018-02-03*

We have been using nutshell for over a year now and find it to be very user friendly. The user interface is simple and easy to understand. We have a sales team of 10 and nutshell allows me to orchestrate my team without being copied on every single email. The timeline feature is great as it syncs our entire teams emails, leads, and activities while at the same time creating a self contained ecosystem where we can chat and pass comments back and forth on all we have going on. Leads and contacts can easily be created from scanning business cards and the new Microsoft outlook sync feature has taken it to the next level. Highly recommend!

### 5/5 — I love Nutshell!

*2018-01-29, version 2.2.6*

Nutshell is a great platform for developing your own pipeline of data, with the ability to track stages of leads and lead outcomes, and with functionality to implement workflows within stages. With custom fields and ability to pull various reports based on the data I’ve input into the system, Nutshell is everything I need to track metrics and business growth strategy/successes. The one thing I’ve noticed I would like to see, is the ability to customize your own unique metrics by utilizing your own custom fields in Nutshell’s dashboard feature. Would love to see them implement the ability to program your dashboard based on “if this than that” logic, with multiple parameters available (greater than, less than, date after, date prior, etc.). With that said, seriously the best platform I’ve used to date.

### 5/5 — Love these guys

*2017-01-26, version 2.1.2*

Happy with the app. I need speed and I get it with. Nutshell.
