### 3/5 — Bad

*2017-10-10*

Never enough bikes to have a continuous long-distance ride around the city. One kiosk we returned our bikes to had plenty of bikes but the kiosk would not rent

**Developer response:** It sounds like you are revising the Bike Service itself, not our third-party, unaffiliated app. Please consider amending your review as these items you mention are part of the Citi Bike service and completely out of our control

### 3/5 — Used to be great

*2016-11-28, version 1.5*

With iOS 10, you now have to allow location services on "always" as opposed to "when using."
This drains usage and battery.
Fix this glitch please!

### 3/5 — Why Always?!...

*2015-10-24*

It used to be a great app. And I was using it since it was waaaaay better than the first versions of the citibike app. But now the app wouldn't open until I don't switch in the settings to Alway (use my location) instead of "When used". Using my location permanently just to ise this app and drain my battery quickly just doesn't make sense to me so if this thing won't be fixed soon I will reconsider using this app...
However, as I said, it used to be a good one.

### 3/5 — No longer works

*2015-10-10, version 1.5*

After upgrade to iOS 9 this app stopped working. I’m removing two stars for this, but will keep removing one star every month this app is not updated. (Hint!)

### 4/5 — Excellent App. One suggestion

*2015-10-04, version 1.5*

This is a great app. Would be helpful if it were ported to the Apple watch

### 3/5 — iOS9 problem

*2015-09-21*

Used to work fine using location only While Using the App, now exits with Location Required. With Always set it uses 25% of battery in background. Pls fix as I have to keep toggling the setting since iOS9.

### 3/5 — Not bad

*2015-07-19*

I like this app for the user friendly interface. Boots up and works fast. The feature which allows you to swipe and see nearby stations is nice. Would be really great if it didn't only work for your current location. By this I mean it would be really useful to be able to look up a station near your destination and see alternative options if there were no free docks at that desired station. Other handy features would be a search function allowing you to type in the street intersection instead of having to scroll all over the map. And a favourite list would be excellent to have too.

### 4/5 — I use this app all the time!

*2015-01-18*

A friend recommended this app to me in lieu of using the official Citibike app. One pain point - when biking to less familiar areas, I have to map out my route in Google maps and then try to find the nearest dock to my destination in this app - I wish there was a way to do this all in this app.

### 4/5 — Skip the subway and find a bike

*2014-10-23*

I used this app all the time on my last trip to New York. It worked really well at helping me get around, and biking in NYC is way more fun than being stuck underground all the time. It's super useful to able to see the bike inventory at all the stations around you. I would check out a bike, have google maps tell me where I was going in my headphones, and then once I arrived the app would tell me where I could drop my bike back off again. I only wish the timer feature kept running when I left the program. You get charged extra if you're late. Having a good 30 minute alarm set is key.

### 4/5 — Should track broken docks and bikes

*2014-10-19*

Broken docks and bikes are the biggest problem with citibike. Does "5 free docks" mean 5 or 0? Usually 0, but not always.

This app could help in a big way with a crowdsourced count of broken bikes and docks.

### 5/5 — Best Citibike app but has many bugs

*2014-08-14, version 1.4*

Easily the best Citibike App!!!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App Crash

*2019-06-02*

App crashes every 30 to 45 seconds.

### 1/5 — Crash city

*2019-02-04*

The basic interface is wonderful but it “crashes” every time I open it even tho it’s reinstalled. Horrible tech.

### 1/5 — Never accurate location

*2017-01-17, version 1.5*

Not worthy!

### 1/5 — Doesn't Work

*2016-10-10, version 1.5*

I can't get it to work. It is frozen on a bike station at 52 nd East and 3rd .

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-06-06*

Doesn't upload nearest bike stations

### 1/5 — Used to be great...

*2016-05-22*

Used to be a fantastic app. Now it will not work unless I allow it to always access my location, even when not in use. There is no reason why this information is required by the app, and I am frankly furious that the creators want to make this a requirement. I will no longer use this app until this function is fixed.

### 1/5 — Location Services are sketchy

*2015-11-04, version 1.5*

It's gives the option of having location services "only while using" but never works that way, you ha e to set it to "always"

### 1/5 — Only shows four bike stations in Manhattan, asks to recalibrate compass too often.

*2015-10-09, version 1.5*

Only shows four bike stations in Manhattan, asks to recalibrate compass too often.

### 1/5 — Worst system ever! Avoid

*2014-07-20, version 1.2*

Why can't I pay on my smart phone like uber? The keypads always have a long line and half the time they don't work. Epic fail

### 2/5 — No support??

*2018-11-26*

App got crash every time, try to contact with support, tap a button, 404 not found...

*2017-07-12*

NYC Bikes really makes finding the few closest docks super easy… especially when using one handed on a bike.

### 5/5 — Perfect app!!!

*2015-09-16*

What away to start my day. I use Citibikes all over the city. This app makes life so easy. I turn it on and it tells me exactly where and how many bikes are left in bold letters. Simple , efficient , and exact. Thanks

Robert

### 5/5 — So convenient!

*2015-08-09*

It's clear, simple and extremely easy to use. It tells me where my closest station is and it's availability of bikes and docks. Will be using this EVERYDAY..

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2015-06-18*

Really great and useful

### 5/5 — Best Citibike App

*2015-05-12, version 1.5*

This is my only Citibike app. I don't even use the official one anymore. Plus, if you explore the app a bit you'll see it does everything you need.

Should be built into the citi bikes themselves

Thanks to the devs: great app!

PLEASE DO A VERSION FOR APPLE WATCH!

### 5/5 — Far superior to Citibike app

*2014-09-21*

Mostly because it actually works. Accurate, simple and easy to use. So good that it seems shocking that Citibike didn't have come up with it first. Get it!

### 5/5 — Awesome app

*2014-09-07, version 1.4*

Super quick and simple

### 5/5 — Great

*2014-08-27, version 1.4*

Get it
