No need for cellular coverage. GPS says where you are and map’s pre downloaded, Off the grid we recorded our route. Later that night we retraced our steps to walk out of the Kaimanawas in the dark.  Brilliant app.  #8^)

Great app does everything you want. Only reason for 4 stars is the resolution of the maps once zoomed in is pixelated.

Overall a good app exactly what I needed for however loses one star because resolution of image is terrible not sure if is necessary for app to function or is deliberate but overall just frustrating when wanting accuracy for land marks etc . compared to google maps or docs hunting map comparison.
At the very least should be stated in description somewhere as to let people know especially it being a paid service just seems unlikely in this day and age that high resolution isn’t default

Love this app it has more features than I know what to do with the only thing that would make it a 5 star for me is if I could toggle on track names to be visible at all times.

It is great the content is updated often
But if that happens when you’re out of range the app refuses to work. 
That is annoying and in worse car could be dangerous when you are relying on the app 
So please keep the app accessible even when there is. New update waiting.

Although everything works well, the satellite maps in the latest version is not as clear as it used to be. Would be 5 stars if it was as clear as Google earth on the satellite maps.

Better resolution maps would be ideal when zoomed. Makes it hard to asses the ground and look at clearings.

Really good for hunting and checking out contours, the DOC overlay is also really useful. However consider the following improvements be considered.
SAT Imagery: The resolution is not helpful for assessing clearings or unmarked tracks.
Regional Council Overlay: The wellington greater regional council has map overlays for permitted hunting areas. Please add these.
Otherwise really useful app.

App functionality seems ok but not very intuitive to use. I tend to not use this app due to the extremely poor quality of the map as you cannot zoom in enough to see details as it’s a dirty image and highly pixelated. Other apps do this so much better, finer image without the dirty background so I have wasted my money here. I should have listened to the last reviewer, they are quite correct. Other free apps show much better resolution.

Coverage was always there in gully’s 
The tracking was accurate and easy to see compared to my Garmin 650 trail  
Don’t need specs on it to read it.

Hey. Is there a video on how to use this app?  I’m trying to create a route on doc tracks so I can see in live time where I am on the track and how far away I am from the next hut..with say three huts for a four day tramp. Can this app do that?
Also a YouTube video on this app shows the user with more options than I have. He creates a route with waypoints and when he’s finished he pushes ‘done’. I don’t have a ‘done’ option.

Best app for hunting in Nz, shows exactly where the boundaries are for hunting zones and also track your route and save you from getting lost in bushes. Can’t recommend highly enough! Only request from developers is to add high resolution satellite images, else too maps are great and shows all the tracks for trampers and access routes for hunters.

Overall a really good app that I’ve found invaluable since I’ve begun using it earlier this year.

I would like the developers to make recording a route and it’s kms and elevation much easier, like onthegomap.com. 

Also, I would pay a reasonable amount for more filter options ie regional council walking route etc. Currently has only DOC walks. Not sure if this is possible or not.

Have had app for years now, I use it when out trail riding new areas and hunting doc bush. I just hit record and let it go. I carry a physical compass as well and the map is very accurate when I’ve doubted myself. Excellent off line tracker/recorder

As a visitor to NZ I had my Garmin GPS/inreach with me hiking and hunting. Turns out I never used it for navigation as this app was significantly better, more user friendly, more features, the list goes on. Incredible!! I’ll be using the South Island one on my next trip!! Well done team!
