Also the balance does not show if you are in overdraft or not, I had no idea I was till I logged in on the computer did I know, it should show your balance just like it would on your computer. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Too Slow *2021-12-01, version 3.46.0* I don’t recommend NZHL or taking a loan from them. Too slow and high charges. It takes a whole day to process transactions and online bank transfers on weekdays. It’s a mistake using NZHL will go to other banks after my 1 year lock period. ### 1/5 — Glitchy as hell *2019-12-12, version 3.23.0* I’ve been trying to get hold of anyone about the fact that the app is glitching out and I can’t access my accounts. The only contacts I’ve been able to get hold of are salesmen or an automated phone recording that doesn’t address technical issues. I gotta transfer money to my credit card before the bills come out and I don’t have a pc to be able to log in. Not ideal. ### 1/5 — Junk software from a toy bank *2019-12-10, version 3.23.0* More than frustrated by being locked from my money by NZHL’s dysfunctional online banking I was encouraged to use this app. After a long wait for a verification code ‘unexpected error’ was shown over five + attempts. I thought my last bank was poor but NZHL set new lows, very much looking forward to leaving NZHL. ### 1/5 — Not compatible w/ Sov ASB customers *2017-11-21, version 3.9.0* 😡 why is this available for one and not the other. ### 2/5 — categorization’s *2026-05-12, version 5.5.0* PLEASE create the ability to track spending across the different categories. It’s a nightmare having to type in each retailer or company to see where our money is going. And overseas spending, my fiance and I use a travel card with another finance company as when using our NZHL acc cards, it doesn’t say for what/where you’ve spent the money overseas, it just says the conversion rate/amount. (we travel for work). Very frustrating. ### 2/5 — Updated app lagging *2025-05-15, version 4.43.1* This app used to be great but the new version doesn’t show transfers straight away so if you move money from one account to another, instead of showing in real time you have to log out and then log back in to see it take effect and make sure the transfer worked. EASY AS! ### 5/5 — Good and getting glider... *2016-03-30, version 3.1.0* Excellent and easy to use app. Does what I need, light, quick, versatile. I enjoy the update descriptions (yes, some of us read them!) Make payments, amendments to APs and transfer between accounts.
