### 1/5 — The worst transit app in the province?

*2021-12-19, version 1.1.2*

It’s sad that tax payers are funding this piece of garbage they call an app.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever..

*2020-12-07, version 1.1.2*

Made an account, didn’t work, activation failed.. 20 min later. I finally got it to activate and now it won’t even log in.. biggest waste of time. This app is terrible.

### 1/5 — Rarely works

*2020-09-18, version 1.1.2*

When this apps accuracy decides to act good, the app is really good. But it’s FPS tracking is really bad. Almost missed a bus because of it

### 1/5 — Major disappointment

*2020-07-06, version 1.1.2*

A brief overview of the problems I've encountered with this app today:
-"Fetching latest data" screen takes over the app periodically, often as you're trying to decipher what the map is trying to tell you. 20-30 seconds later, you can use it again.
-Geolocation plain doesn't work.
-Switching route being displayed is clunky, and takes over most of my screen.

This app needs to be replaced by an API, so people who know what they're doing can write it instead. Look at Transit for an example of how it's done.

Utter garbage, this one.

UPDATE: Geolocation still broken after the April 3 update that "fixed" it.

UPDATE 2: App dormant for 3 years. Continues to be terrible. Please, just make a real time API available, so someone who knows what they're doing can do the job right.

### 1/5 — It could be SO much better

*2018-09-22, version 1.1.1*

I really really really don’t like this app. The only reason I have it is so I can know real time bus tracking. But this app lacks in too many ways: the UI appears old and laggy and honestly it’s never fun to have to open an app and then go through more than 3 finger gestures to get to where you want to get to. There are many bugs like when ‘fetching data’ doesn’t end, or the bus stops and bus icons move to a different location on the screen or they don’t respond at all when tapped. I don’t know if developers read reviews, but one idea would be to completely abandon this app and just feed Oakville bus real time tracking into the Transit app. I guarantee you’d be able to get more people using Oakville buses that way. Even I use this app for times then switch to Transit for everything else.

### 1/5 — Utter rubbish. A Waste of Space

*2017-07-28, version 1.1.1*

I concur fully with previous review. What an utter waste of memory on my iPhone. Please, please have someone that knows what they are doing get this app working. We need a reliable Oakville Transit app. We want people to use our transit and a decent reliable app is an integral part of the user needs. Right now, it is garbage. I had no choice but to give it one star, HOWEVER, it deserves no star at all. A failing grade on all counts.

### 1/5 — Not helpful

*2017-03-06, version 1.1*

I have used other transit apps and found what I needed to know easily. I eventually gave up on this app frustrated. I could not figure out how to use the app or find what I was looking for, which was simply where a bus goes from a specific stop. Not intuitive.

### 1/5 — Non to Barely Functional

*2016-11-01, version 1.0*

I used this app with my iPhone5 and when it works it works acceptably for bus timing except that I had to open it twice to get the GPS to kick in. The interface is a little unintuitive but once you figure it out, you'll get by.

Now I have a new iPhone7 and the app doesn't work at all! Version 1 came out January 1st so I guess I shouldn't hold my breath for a fix.

### 1/5 — Frustrating

*2016-08-06, version 1.0*

Was at a downtown event and used the app to check on upcoming busses. None showed on the app so called Uber. Bus rolled past just after Uber confirmed. Happens frequently that bus positions not accurate.

### 1/5 — Barely half attempt

*2016-02-19, version 1.0*

This app isn't what was boasted on the billboards and posters advertising this app. Not so much tracking, as more "predictions" when the buses are to arrive? Found no "real-time tracking" in this app at all. It's nice to know when the bus is supposed to actually be at a specific spot now that this gives me the actual arrival times, but that could have been remedied by a schedule posted at the stop itself. Hope this is only 1.0 for this app, and that you guys get your act together and produce an app that looks like you made an effort.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor App

*2025-08-26, version 1.1.2*

No support and features are outdated and full of bugs

### 1/5 — Unintuitive + difficult to use + wrong information

*2024-10-09, version 1.1.2*

don’t bother downloading this app - there are many others that are much better

### 1/5 — Just one of the many downfalls of the OV transit system

*2024-07-08, version 1.1.2*

The Oakville transit system is such a mess that buses do not connect. I had to catch the 14a to hopedale to catch the 3 to the hospital for an important appointment. Before the 14a pulled up the 3 was already driving down Rebecca. Please fix this god awful system for the people who need it thanks.

### 1/5 — Dekehead

*2024-06-16, version 1.1.2*

This is a Third World country. Who does not have a functioning transit app in 2024. This thing is a buggy piece of garbage.

### 1/5 — Worst app ever

*2023-08-02, version 1.1.2*

Constantly getting an error message stating it’s not available and to check if my phone is in stupid airplane mode or connected to internet. News flash my data is always on and never on airplane mode. Oakville transit sucks and so does the app. Such a waste of my time.

### 1/5 — Such a pointless app

*2023-07-25, version 1.1.2*

The idea was great the one and only time I was able to use it but it literally never works. DONT BOTHER DOWNLOADING!!

### 1/5 — Always error, don’t waste your time

*2023-07-20, version 1.1.2*

I’m wondering how hard it is to have a working app.

### 1/5 — The connection always fails

*2023-07-14, version 1.1.2*

The server is always crashing and giving me an error when I open the app

### 1/5 — times are always wrong

*2023-05-23, version 1.1.2*

the times for the buses are very inconsistent and do not updates when buses are late or out of service. i have been late to work and school countless times in the two years i have been using the app. you’re better off using apple/google maps.

### 1/5 — No schedules for bus routes

*2022-08-18, version 1.1.2*

So what’s the point of this app?

## Most praised reviews (9 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — It's ok

*2023-02-18, version 1.1.2*

I used ir a couple times, no issues to speak of. I wish there qas a feature to track the bus as it is moving live.

### 4/5 — Pretty Good

*2016-05-31, version 1.0*

Constantly asks to use location services. Other apps only ask occasionally. Makes the app annoying to use.

### 4/5 — Great

*2016-03-04, version 1.0*

Not just predictions based on the arrival times! Actually correctly predicts bus arrival. Interface a little difficult to use.

### 4/5 — So far so good

*2016-02-18, version 1.0*

Nice service and so far no problems. Thanks Oakville transit - making my life easier.

### 3/5 — Useful

*2018-01-25, version 1.1.1*

It’s a very useful app, not in winter !
There is a bug related to detecting location which can’t detect your location fast and you need to wait a long time!
Which is hard to hold the phone with on screen specially in winter outdoor!
And the other bug is that it doesn’t have background app refresh, and as soon as you come out of the app it shuts off and you need to wait for the app to detect your location again...

But in general the idea and how it works is amazing and useful !

### 3/5 — Not good for emergencies

*2016-11-22, version 1.1*

This app is really helpful, and honestly it deserves five stars.

But most if not all of the times that I use it is an emergency, because I need to know where a bus is as soon as possible.

Yet every time I open the app it takes me through the exact same tutorial and there's no way I can turn that off permanently, and it wastes time. It doesn't even seem to matter if I tick the box asking if I want to see it again, it'll pop up anyways.

Please fix this

### 2/5 — Good, but lacks features

*2022-10-07, version 1.1.2*

It’s pretty good, but it’s probably just better to stick with the Transit app or apps similar to that.

### 2/5 — App needs a overhaul !

*2019-03-21, version 1.1.1*

Useful when it rarely works . Most times have to enter in favourite routes again . Crashes often . And still not even updated for the newer iPhone screen sizes . Come on !

### 2/5 — Old and news major update

*2018-03-09, version 1.1.1*

Only plus about this app is the real time tracking and if it wasn't for that i’d be using a completely different bus app. Interface looks so old and isn't optimized for iPhone X. Please Update
