I’ve noticed that if the trip costs less than what they say on the app…you don’t get refunded the difference but if the trip costs more you do. I’ve also noticed that if you prebook a taxi on the app and again pay up front, then cancel the trip over the app because you no longer need it…again you will not get refunded… If you are using this app to book a taxi, best thing to do is pay cash in the taxi, because if people are not paying attention to their bills they are getting ripped off! I’ve given this app 2 stars simply because of how easy it is to get a taxi and shows you updates on where they are ### 4/5 — Good journey *2024-11-02, version 34.6.19* Nice guy ### 3/5 — Charges incorrectly *2024-10-26, version 34.6.19* Booked on this app with a stop in between and the price quoted was £4.30. I have been trying to download this joke of an app for a few days now. After entering my details it states that ‘we have sent you a code’; what code?? Checked my messages and emails; no code has been sent! Can’t believe it’s been given a 2.8 rating. I would’ve rated it a 1! Defo more work needed. Run by amateurs. The taxi firm and the creators of this app are totally unprofessional and lack good service. ### 2/5 — Disappointing *2021-10-14, version 33.4.21* Not quite sure what’s going on but I can honestly say after years of my custom I won’t be using this app or your services again. The app lies about waiting time and in fact sometimes the cat just disappears. I couldn’t use the app this afternoon (for what ever your reasons are) and after waiting 8 mins in cue to be answered I was told the waiting time is an hour and yet they prices have gone up in the afternoon?? For what? To be told I have to wait an hour? I actually never know when to book a taxi anymore with you guys. It’s a sad state of affairs because your company WAS by far the best and you’ve now just really let yourselves down 😞 ### 2/5 — Greedy Drivers. *2021-07-15, version 33.2.7* Starting to get sick of desperately needing a taxi and because the journey only costs £5 no driver will accept it! Today I needed a taxi 3 miles down the road for my covid vaccine that is in 20 minutes! And couldn’t even book a taxi to get there so I won’t miss the appointment. ### 1/5 — LATE *2021-07-06, version 33.2.7* I pre book a taxi for the same time every day and without fail they’re late. Not asif the roads te busy either for what time I finish work. Can’t even call up as it just says use the app and cuts off. ### 1/5 — WOULD NOT RECCOMEND *2020-02-18, version 32.1.15* One of the drivers picked up my girlfriend and thought it was funny to talk about if she was single he would marry her, absolutely disgusting😡then he started talking to her about converting her faith to Islam in my opinion this is the worst taxi company I've ever used and will not be using them again!!😡 ### 1/5 — iPhone XS Max *2019-05-17, version 32.0.2* Taxi isn’t showing as dispatched or tracking on iPhone XS Max had this problem since i got new phone ### 1/5 — Fake advertisement *2019-05-09, version 32.0.2* Do not believe them when they say use the app for “priority booking”, because I pre-booked a taxi 2 days in a row, hours in advance for a 8:30am pick up and they never showed up. When I rang head office I was constantly told to wait 10-15 more minutes. What’s the point in prebooking if I have to wait that long and not to mention because of them I’ve been late for work! By the time I booked with another taxi company, who ACTUALLY manage to show up, Oakwell & Rex Taxis still had not dispatched a car to me. I waited 30 mins past my booking time, god knows how much longer I would have to wait if I didn’t book with another company. ### 1/5 — SCAM *2018-12-16, version 12.20.1* I ordered a taxi the other day and you can pay by card, once I got to the place I wanted to go the taxi driver then said the card payment didn’t go through so I gave them cash only to find the payment did go through and when I contacted oakwell they said they had no proof of me paying cash and couldn’t refund me ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Scammers. *2026-05-11, version 37.0.10* Drivers will accept booking then spend 10 minutes in the same location before even coming your way and if you try cancel due to the excessive waiting oakwell will charge you a fee. ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-08-22, version 36.0.7* Charged me for a taxi I didn’t even take then when I called complaining they lied and said the driver was waiting for me when he wasn’t ### 1/5 — Late *2025-03-18, version 35.1.9* Was on a tight schedule and the driver was 10 minutes late from my pre-picked time ### 1/5 — Disgusting taxi firm. Avoid. *2025-01-01, version 34.6.19* You agree a price via the app and they change how much you are charged after the journey without telling you! Taxi journey was £20 but they charged £29 and I even gave them a £5 tip. I've rang Oakwell four days running to ask them to delete my account so I can create another one. I can't create a new account. Absolutely shocking service.
