Beispiel: Wenn ein Zug statt um 8:00 erst um 8:45 fährt und ich um 8:30 nachschauen will, sollte ich nicht auf “Frühere Züge” tippen müssen bloß weil die ursprüngliche Abfahrtszeit vor 8:30 war. Das ist so nervig, v.a. weil die Züge ja ständig Verspätungen haben. ### 4/5 — Polished and professional *2026-05-30* I was having an issue with making a payment but my friend was able to buy the ticket on his phone for me. When he removed the extra ticket from his app it showed up on my app. Overall the app feels polished. I just wished the payment worked for me. ### 1/5 — What’s going on?!? *2026-05-29* The app used to work pretty well but for the last month or so it hasn’t worked. I get all the way through the process of getting a ticket, when I get to payment it says my payment didn’t go through. I’ve tried with other cards and it says I need to contact the merchant. ÖBB please fix this! I travel with you all the time and this is becoming a major hassle! ### 1/5 — Trash app *2026-05-27, version 5.2619.1* I tried to purchase a ticket in multiple ways: a saved card, Apple Pay, new credit cards, bank transfer, every possible way. I tried to do this multiple times a day for a few days. NOTHING WORKED. I went to the Salzburg Hauptbahnhof and talked to someone at the ticket desk and she said the 19,90€ ticket I see on the app she couldn’t sell me. She could only sell me a ticket for 77€. Worst app ever!! ### 1/5 — Which is the Family name? *2026-05-23, version 5.2619.1* First name, Last name, which is the Family name??? ### 2/5 — Good for planning, Ugly for purchasing *2026-05-20* The Good: Easily see many options for departure station, departure time, and price. There is a way to search with a lengthen the transfer time for intermediate train changes (the wine glass symbol in the top right corner), but it’s not a default, it must be applied for each search. The Bad: The tickets may say they are refundable, but that’s not entirely true. Standard OEBB business practice is refundable only until you download the ticket as a pdf, printed the ticket, or saved an e-ticket. The true useable ticket is more like an airline boarding pass and it’s not refundable. Also, the e-ticket is just a pdf copy on the app under My Tickets tab that requires several steps to reach. There is not a way to put any OBB discount pass or ticket in Apple Wallet. It’s best to download the pdf, save it on your phone (Folders in On My iPhone, if you have an Apple phone) in case you don’t have cell service and print a hard copy before hand. The Ugly: It’s 99.9 percent impossible to purchase anything through this app or the OBB website with a U.S. issued credit card. OBB uses a third party card processor called SaferPay. It automatically declines 99.9 percent of attempts within microseconds. My wife and I tried dozens if not hundreds of times over several weeks and were only successful twice. This with multiple credit cards, all with the latest 3-D Secure. The work around is PayPal, if you are okay with high fees and their find print trickery, or using a third party vendor app such as Trainline or SBB. I think DB might also work. Even those apps at the very end redirect you to the OBB app to download the e-ticket or the pdf (you cannot do both). ### 1/5 — They don’t have the tickets I bought in there *2026-05-19, version 5.2617.0* Truly trash app ### 2/5 — How do you pay? All my cards have declined *2026-05-18* The app seems ok but I failed to pay for the ticket. The app redirects to something called saferpay that always tells me that my card was declined and I need to contact the merchant. What merchant? I tried it with 3 cards and all have declined. And neither of the apps for those banks showed any declined transactions. The only payment that worked for me was PayPal, which charged me a hefty transaction fee. How does OBB make any money with that kind of an app? ### 2/5 — Eine App mit viel Potenzial *2026-05-17, version 5.2617.0* Die ÖBB-App hat eine sehr starke Basis, auf der sich etwas noch Besseres aufbauen lässt. Das muss allerdings erst einmal geschehen. Warum kann ich keinen Sitzplatz gemeinsam mit meiner Freundin reservieren, wenn wir beide separate Vorteilskarten haben? Reisen in Österreich mit dem Zug ist wunderbar – umso schade, dass die App diesem Erlebnis noch nicht gerecht wird. Why would you allow selecting seats if you can’t purchase them? And if you can’t reserve seats why don’t you say so instead of showing a general error? Why do think become non refundable after you “print” your ticket. Take a look at Italo’s app. One of the best around. It’s so simple. You pick your train and pick the seat. But it doesn’t accept credit cards from outside Austria. This is one of my favorite feature from the SBB app and makes life super easy. There is no reason for it not to work here and it just doesn’t. I’m very disappointed but Austria has an otherwise outstanding rail system. So I deleted my Visa card thinking I could enter a new one during purchase and it refuses to complete the payment process. I bought the ticket on the Swiss train app instead. ÖBB needs to fix their app! ### 1/5 — Won’t let me lay *2026-06-24, version 5.2623.0* Unable pay for booked trips. I tried Apple Pay, my Cc and my friends CC from a major bank. Then when you go back a page, everything is erased and you have to start over. I tried everything including the website. I have been all over Europe and never had this issue. Both for (1) tickets purchased from a computer and accessed from the app, and (2) tickets purchased through the app. (Note: I was paying with a card from an Austrian bank). All worked smoothly for me. ### 5/5 — Übersichtlich und einfach zu bedienen. *2026-02-16* Ich finde die App super gelöst. Sie sieht gut aus, ist gut designt und hat wirklich viele Funktionen. Man kann sein Klimaticket Österreich digital vorzeigen, Ticktes, sowie Sitzplatzreservierungen buchen und Vorzugspunkte (Treuepunkte, die gegen ÖBB-Produkte, wie Reservervierungen oder Loungezugänge, eingetauscht werden können) sammeln. Was mir nicht so gut gefällt, aber das ist nur optisch: Viele Anwendungen sind Webamwendungen und es öffnet in der App eine Art Browser.
