## What is ObsiKO?

Tired of file conversion and plugin hunting?
All your time on settings, not a line written?
Features that never talk to each other?

Everyday writing, LLM wikis, ontologies, Zettelkasten, mind maps, reading logs, encyclopedias, schedules, file conversion — one app. No login, no payment, no subscription. Obsidian vaults (.md/.canvas/.base) open as-is; AI needs your own API key.

■ Write once, the rest follows
· One "color" property colors the note tab, header, tree icon, .base and encyclopedia cards
· Type "book" opens a book search that fills the rest in; shelf and dashboard follow
· Type "project" adds start and deadline, drawn on the calendar and PARA board
· Highlight a PDF; quotes stack up in a same-named note, ready for search
· Define your own types and relations: set "author", the other side reads "works"

■ A beautiful cosmic graph
· Wiki links, types, relations and PARA form one constellation — more links, brighter star
· Filter by relation, or replay how each star was born

■ Infinite mind map canvas (.canvas)
· Apple Pencil drawing. Turn a sketch straight into an AI image
· Auto-generate from links, auto-arrange, group, embed. Let AI build one or read yours

■ Schedules and tasks
· Reminders, Obsidian Tasks compatible, calendar subscriptions. Any file's dates count

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-07

■ New in 1.2.0

· Routines — the same handful of steps, in one tap. A new Routine panel sits in the right sidebar. Chain together the things you do every day — open today's note, drop in a template, add a tag, start the focus timer — and from then on it's a single tap.
· Five examples are waiting when you first open it: tidy up writing, log today, start meeting notes, write with focus, start a new episode. Try one, and if you like it, keep it and edit it. Put {n} in the title and the next number is filled in for you, so serial chapters just count up. Nothing ever runs on its own — a routine only runs when you tap it.
· Long-press a character or setting note to generate artwork. The sheet you already wrote (age, appearance, clothing) becomes the prompt, and you can see and edit exactly what gets sent. One checkbox makes the result that note's cover image, which the codex and story viewers pick up right away.
· Random Box repeats itself far less often. Wuxia names went from 573 to over 20,000, sci-fi names, ruins and modern street names grew too, and signature colours went from 26 to 82 — cherry blossom and apricot through to deep crimson and ink. Two new stat presets: idol and hunter/dungeon.
· Code and config files in your vault — .js, .py, .json — now open exactly as they are. Before, quotes were curled and comments were folded into headings, quietly corrupting the file. Search looks inside them too.
· The visual novel backlog now shows only the path you actually took, and records which choice you made at each fork. Going back no longer skips the choices.
· Switch vaults in one step from the command palette, and copy to another vault by long-pressing a file.
· Smart quotes were doing nothing at all on iPhone and iPad. Fixed.
· Long-press menus are finger-sized now, and setting descriptions moved to a "?" button you can actually tap on a phone.

+ Assorted quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new and revised help pages.

### 1.1.9 — 2026-09-02

This update focused mainly on stability.

■ New in 1.1.9

- Map drawing expanded — 6 new terrains (marsh, badlands, blighted land, sanctuary, city, alpine; 20 in total), 7 new stamps (pin, dot, ringed dot, train station, warp gate, dam, skull; 41 in total) and 2 new paths (footprints, dotted). Run a path across water and it becomes a bridge. Note-link stamps now carry the note title, and two faction banners (red and blue) were added.
- Mind map stabilization. Paste a Google Maps address into a mind map and the map of that spot appears on the card — no extra API key needed.
- The book, web novel, messenger and visual novel viewers were stabilized. The e-book now opens on a title page, and you can highlight while you read — the color you pick is saved straight into the original note.
- You can now choose the file name format for daily notes: 2026-08-29, 2026.08.29, 20260829, 2026-08-29 Sat, or one you type yourself.
- 164 numbered characters added to the cheat sheet's special characters.
- 3 new dashboard mini games — nonogram, mini sudoku and sentence puzzle, just right for a short break. The sentence puzzle doubles as language practice: point it at a foreign-language note or folder and only those sentences come up, with listening and "open the source" once you solve one. All three are hidden by default, so pull them out from Edit dashboard ▸ Hidden cards.
- Random box place names now draw on real place-name research, greatly expanding the modern, fantasy (Old English and Norse elements), wuxia and sci-fi parts. Names like Hazelhurst and Procyon now come up. The seven scene-description lines were doubled as well.
- A "being" genre joined the structure tab, beside character and world — eight sheets for things that are not people (nonhuman beings, monsters, summons, mythical beasts, spirits, yokai and more) and three old-tale structures (ghost story, folk tale, fairy tale).
- AI agent improvements, stronger protection for IME text input, graph view backgrounds and more.

+ many usability improvements, bug fixes, and new and revised help pages.

### 1.1.8 — 2026-08-27

■ New in 1.1.8

· Map drawing has arrived in mindmaps — three themes, roads and rails that connect themselves, 33 stamps, and random generation that builds a whole map or dungeon for you.
· A new Random Box panel in the right sidebar gathers characters, places, dice and a spinning wheel in one place. Character generation got an upgrade: roll stat distributions and see them as a radar chart.
· The new map, character and place generators use no AI at all.
· Tabletop RPG sheets were added to the Character genre in the writing helper's Structure tab. Sketch a character, draw a dungeon, roll the dice, and run your own game.
· Class, item and gear sheets were added the same way under the Worldbuilding genre.
· Three themes joined the lineup: Golden, Neon Sign and Ancient.
· A web novel knowledge pack makes starting a serial project faster.

+ Assorted quality-of-life improvements, bug fixes, and new and revised help pages.

### 1.1.71 — 2026-08-21

■ New in 1.1.71
· A color panel has been added. Choosing, saving and inserting colors is far easier now, and the bottom of the panel lists every color already used as a property somewhere in your vault. It opens on its own whenever a color is needed, and you can also find it in the right sidebar list. Apply the color you picked straight to a note property, or insert the code. The color panel works in canvas, base files and inline drawings too.
· The tag panel is now called Classification, and has been rebuilt with Properties and Types & Relations tabs. Properties lists every property used in your vault along with how often it appears. Types & Relations shows your types and relations, and lets you quickly register the ones not yet in your dictionary.
· The outline panel is now split into Structure and Tasks. Structure is the outline you already know; Tasks looks after to-do items that have no heading and so never showed up in the outline.
· The random extra generator in the writing assistant's character genre has been renamed Random character generator and substantially expanded. It can create a new note directly, and the character notes it makes appear in the codex right away, drawing on a much wider range for each genre.
· More entries for writing templates in the cheat sheet's auto-input category.
· You can set a template for daily notes in advance.
· The settings window has been reorganized to be easier to read.
· A Wiktionary Latin dictionary has been added. Turn it on in settings and search in Korean to find Latin words.

+ Various convenience improvements, bug fixes, and additions and corrections to the help
+Fixed a memory issue in mind maps.
