There are a lot of great deals and the products I’ve received are always in fresh condition with good shelf life. If you’re looking for a particular item there is usually more than one choice which is great and deliveries are always within the time slot and the drivers are AWAYS lovely. Variety of food , easy to get a slot and loads of price reductions . Love it ! ### 3/5 — Bags *2026-08-14, version 1.442.2* Ocado over-use plastic bags and then don’t credit when you return them. ### 3/5 — Quite good, some aspects feel dishonest *2026-08-13* For example, items get added to your basket automatically in a weekly shop, but at the full price, even when you go into the basket. But, if you remove the item and then go to the product page it shows the discounted price. So the discounted price is being hidden from you, when it’s been added to your basket, buy Ocado themselves. How unnecessary. You can save money by literally removing items from your basket and then just adding them back in again, if they’re on offer. That’s a con job. Also, I’ve said this loads of times, but sending an SMS message 24hrs before the deadline of a basket, when they clearly have working push notifications is really poor. If I have items in my basket, and I’ve just forgotten to check out, that doesn’t mean I want them all removing and I want to revert back to the order created by Ocado. Why not send a push notification saying, “Hey your deadline is in 4 hours/ 1 hour / 30 mins and you have items in your basket you’ve not checked out with. Please check out to keep them!” A standard text message that nobody uses except delivery companies the day before is madness. **Developer response:** Hi there. We're really sorry to hear you're finding our new app worse than before and that you're encountering so many issues, especially with the checkout and offers. We appreciate you sharing such detailed feedback. We understand your frustration with the "incomplete" offers pop up, even when you have the correct number of items in your basket. This is certainly not the smooth experience we aim for. Sometimes the offer may not be recognised correctly for unknown reasons but it is worth double-checking the offer to ensure the correct items from the offer are chosen. We also appreciate your valuable suggestions regarding notifications. We know that a single SMS reminder a day before checkout isn't the most effective way to communicate, and your ideas for a series of push notifications leading up to the final checkout time are brilliant. We're always looking for ways to improve our communication and make the shopping experience as effortless as possible for you. We truly value your insights and will be passing your feedback on to our team for review. ### 2/5 — Debi246 *2026-08-13, version 1.442.2* Last order was part delivered, the driver drove off with half of it on his van. Contacted Customer Service, who phoned the warehouse and advised me that if it was on the van it would be delivered between 6pm and 9pm that night. The delivery was between 9am and 10am in the morning. Cannot believe I was told ‘if’ the goods were on the van. No contingency if they weren’t, at this point I had no idea where the groceries I had paid for and were contracted to be delivered between 9am and 10am, were. I said this was unacceptable and told them to contact the driver to pull over and see if the goods were on the van, which to me is common sense. The attitude of the warehouse management is a disgrace it was obvious from the response that they could not care less. How dare you make a customer wait up to 10 hours for groceries when it was your mistake, and on top of that could not even be bothered to find out where they were. I think Trading Standards should be notified about this. I am writing this because I have written numerous times to your CEOs exec office and been completely ignored. Is this because you have too many complaints to deal with, or you just don’t care, very unprofessional and extremely rude? All I wanted to know is what you have put in place should this happen to any customer again. It caused a lot of stress as there was around £50 to £60 worth of groceries missing including wine and food for a family get together. The driver piled the bags on top of each other at the door and I asked him was that everything and he said yes. I want a response from your head office, I don’t want vouchers, I want to know what you have put in place. In the end I was insistent the missing groceries were delivered immediately and was told the initially the driver was out of the area, not my problem. In the end they did get in touch with the driver and the goods were located, he then brought me the missing items around 1pm apparently after his shift. So you could actually deliver the items earlier then was first stated, just though you would fob me off. On what planet is this acceptable? I spend around£600 to £750 a mouth with you and this is how I was treated. Booking a slot and checkout is good. But simply navigating for produce by search term or category is frustrating and slow. Please compare the UX to other supermarket offerings, e.g. Waitrose. Easy to use app. Fresh produce is always fresh and has a long life. Lots of offers and discounts. Excellent delivery service with friendly, courteous & helpful delivery people.
