Please update the app to alleviate this. However, the stream has recently taken to cutting out at random intervals, usually within 1-3 minutes, which is frustrating. It does a good job of allowing you to listen to the radio station. Please continue to work on the app to make it a fantastic app. - Screen rotation is not respected. This causes really strange behavior when switching between apps. - Central pause/play button in app becomes out of sync with audio stream when system sound occurs - The stream should auto restart after a background system sound. Worse, it doesn’t show up in your running apps, so no way to turn it off or even know which app the sound is coming from! It keeps disconnecting all the time. I’ve to keep on pressing play button every other minute. On my iPad, I have to kill the app to stop it from playing because its play/pause controls don’t work. It’s not an issue of Wi-Fi or network as all other apps still integrate with my speakers. The only way i can broadcast it in my speakers is if i open the app on my iPhone then play it from there through the HomePod. This had been an occasional issue but has been consistent for the past few weeks. Bummer! NPR is my main news source and I enjoy the ability to play my local affiliate throughout my house. Is there an issue on my end? Or is this how it will be? ### 2/5 — Wait! What? *2019-03-10, version 1.0.36* This app opens and connects quickly and easily. It then disconnects just as the story on the radio turns an important corner. This is not just a WiFi to Cellular issue. It happens on just WiFi all the time. I have a similar issue on my Amazon Echo with the Publics Radio skill (or lack thereof!). The best way to get RINPR is still on a radio. ### 2/5 — Transition between WiFi and cellular needs work *2019-02-07, version 1.0.36* The app provides great access to programming, but cannot handle the transition from Wi-Fi to cellular or cellular to Wi-Fi. Each time you’re connected to a Wi-Fi network the app stops playing. A previous review noted this issue over one year ago. It’s time to get some attention. ### 2/5 — Terrific Content but technically flawed *2019-01-09, version 1.0.36* I’m close to giving up on streaming as the connection does not hold. I can listen for a minute and then silence. No automatic reconnection. Come On NPR. Please fix this. You provide a valuable service it what good is it if the connection can’t be maintained. ### 2/5 — Frustratingly unreliable *2018-04-14, version 1.0.11* Really disappointing app. It frequently cuts out for no apparent reason and won’t come back. Easier to stick with WGBH. ### 2/5 — Needs work *2017-11-04, version 1.0.7* This new streamer app has flaws. The most annoying is its inability to sustain the connection when you move between cellular and WiFi. Not only does it drop out but it makes no attempt to reconnect. (The previous app would sit “buffering” endlessly in the same situation.) Often one must actually quit the app to get it to work again. Very frustrating. It always seems to happen as a speaker is about to say something especially important as I walk from the car to the house, forgetting I will be cut off. Moving back away from the WiFi range doesn’t help at that point. Really appreciate this NPR station for Rhode Island and Southern Massachusetts I would like to listen to feed directly on my HomePod but I need guidance as to what specifically to ask Siri for to get "The Publics' Radio".
