## What is oChat?

oChat is a messenger you can walk into. Sign in with Apple or Google in one tap — no phone number, no SMS code, no password to make up — and you are writing. The same account works on iPhone and on Mac.

Your one-to-one chats, private groups and private channels are end-to-end encrypted with Apple's own CryptoKit. Keys are set up on that first sign-in, so there is nothing to switch on.

AND YOU CAN CHECK IT
In a one-to-one chat, compare a fingerprint face to face — eight pictures, a 60-digit number, or the QR code you show each other — and the chat is marked verified. If that key changes later, a warning appears above the message field.
Public groups and public channels are not encrypted; anyone can walk into them. Nor are chats with our support team. The app says so on those screens.

• Replies, edits, reactions, pinned messages, an archive and notes to yourself.
• Photos, video, files, voice messages and video notes, encrypted on your device before they are uploaded.
• A chat list that opens with no connection; an unsent message waits in the outbox and goes on its own.
• A recovery code that never leaves your device and opens your history on a new iPhone or Mac.
• Notifications with no text in them: the push preview is encrypted, and our server cannot read it.
• Privacy settings that work both ways, a Devices screen that closes any other session, plus reports, blocks and moderation labels.
• 47 languages, a dark theme, links that open inside the app.

PLANS
Messaging, groups, channels, encryption and opening any media sent to you are free.
Premium is a monthly subscription. It adds sending media — photos, video, files, voice messages and video notes — and what else it includes is shown on the subscription screen in the app.
A subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your App Store account settings.

Среди особенностей приложения стоит отметить отсутствие бэкенда, что гарантирует полную конфиденциальность, а также функцию запрета на скачивание медиа, которая позволяет контролировать распространение контента.
