## What is Ochlos?

Ochlos (ock-lohs) is the Greek word often translated "the crowd" — the ordinary people who gathered around Jesus. Ochlos is a Christ-centered place to gather online: a community, not a platform.

Somewhere along the way the internet became driven by algorithms, engagement metrics, and ads. We think something valuable was lost. Ochlos is an attempt to reclaim what the internet was once good at — connection, conversation, friendship, real community — and to center it on Christ.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND

• Social feed — share what's on your heart with the crowd, encourage one another, and follow along. No algorithm deciding what you see.

• Prayer Wall — post a prayer request, pray for others, and leave a word of encouragement. Mark a prayer answered when God moves.

• Verse Wall — scripture and short reflections to sit with through your day.

• Community Chat — live rooms like the Lobby, Bible Study, and Prayer Requests. Follow a room and gather in real time when others are there.

• Discover — Christ-centered music, podcasts, voices to follow, and a Special Needs hub built for belonging.

• Real friendships — connect with people, message one another, and become part of the community.

WHAT MAKES OCHLOS DIFFERENT

Our goal is not to build a platform — it's to build a community. A place where believers encourage one another, pray together, grow together, share life, and make real friends. No algorithm. No ads. No optimization of your attention.

As the community grows, we hope Ochlos becomes a welcoming place for anyone exploring Christianity, returning to faith, looking for answers, curious about Jesus, or searching for a church home. Easy to enter, easy to take part in, easy to belong to.

SAFETY & COMMUNITY

Some features require a free account, and a few have age requirements that keep the environment appropriate. Ochlos includes content moderation, a profanity filter, the ability to report posts and comments, and the ability to block other members. Our community standards are simple: be kind, be honest, and treat people the way you'd want to be treated.

Help people connect with God, and connect with one another. That's the whole idea.
