### 4/5 — It’s amazing game

*2020-07-17, version 1.0.19*

The is beautiful you just want some time to know how to control perfectly

### 4/5 — Good but ...

*2020-06-08, version 1.0.19*

It’s a good game but it gets too hard. Like
ridiculously hard!

### 3/5 — Horrible controls

*2020-03-25, version 1.0.19*

Some of the worst controls I’ve ever seen on a mobile game, other than that it’s a great play

### 4/5 — What’s the point of playing if the first boss is practically impossible

*2019-07-27, version 1.0.19*

The first boss is practically impossible unless you’re a adult for kids all it will do is make you cry

### 4/5 — Holy moly, ridiculously hard to play

*2019-07-24, version 1.0.19*

The user interface is ridiculously hard to use. Most games teach you a basic concept, let you get used to it, then introduce more advanced concepts. This game start with moves that are very awkward and difficult to perform. While the game looks beautiful, I am leaving it alone for now until I have more concentration to give to trying to learn it. If my experience improves I will update my review.

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review. We are well aware that the tutorial is not functioning up to par. here is a video to help with the basics: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIN0pNRDDuo - The game is not easy, but once you figure out the controls it is very precise. I hope you find the strength to brake barrier.
Best regards, Team Ocmo

### 5/5 — Final Boss, Darkworld

*2019-05-29, version 1.0.19*

What am I supposed to do here? There’s no mechanical bunny or normal bunny or even a secret bunny-any advice on how to get past this final darkworld boss?

### 3/5 — One of the levels are in possible

*2019-04-13, version 1.0.19*

Maybe you should make a change on level four it’s impossible how do you even do a high jump

### 5/5 — Ocmo review

*2019-01-02, version 1.0.19*

This game is really awesome, it has tons of content and is way better then some of the more popular games that are on the store, I encourage everyone to pick it up and try it!

### 3/5 — Great idea, poorly performed

*2018-12-15, version 1.0.19*

The idea is genious. Pretty extraordinary and funny. Levels are tought but I am used to patiency-needing games like Geometry Dash. So all this idea is great, hovewer the game has more flaws that it should have. Flaw number one is unattractivity. The music is very cheap and repetetive. Every level sounds exactly same, looks exactly the same and the blurping sounds of the octopus isnt helping. Second flaw are the controls. I am not talking about the swing controls. They are difficult to learn but completely fine otherwise. I am talking about the run and jump controls. I have played many other platformers where you just press left part of screen to move left and right to move right. Here your octopus will stop moving because the game does not consider your finger position lefty enough. But the real problem is combination of wrong physics + jumping technique. Although many science formulas can be learned through the game the friction is not present in Ocmo at all. So if you want to stop your octopus you have to hold your finger until it stops. So what do you do if you only want your octopus to run slower? You hold your finger for shorter duration. But then - it jumps right into the deadly honeypool. You cant freely adjust the speed of movement because of clumsy jump technique. There is a huge lack of freedom in your movement.

I have finished all levels in hardcore games such as Geometry Dash. GD is much more difficult than Ocmo, yet is a perfectly made game without a single flaw with absolutely fluid and logical controls. The controls are simply bad. Even games in 2010 knew how to differ jump from run.

Make the game less repetetive and give us option to set jump on something like two-finger-tap and five stars are yours. Or make the center of screen the jump button.

### 4/5 — Great and challenging game!

*2018-11-30, version 1.0.19*

I’m loving this game even though I’ve been stuck on some levels for a bit now.

### 3/5 — Horrible controls

*2018-11-27, version 1.0.19*

When the controls seems way more annoying than it should be, it just takes the interest out of the game. I’m sure it’s a good game but having played multiple platform and puzzle games and knowing how fluid the other games controls are, it makes this game not worth trying.

**Developer response:** Thanks for the feedback. Teaching the controls has definitely been the biggest hurdle for Ocmo. Once you understand how the controls work they feel natural and are precise. What do you find the most frustrating?

We chose the control scheme as it gives the most freedom to control the character and lots of nyances. Unfortunately it is not intuitive for everyone and thus falls short in approachability.

### 5/5 — Slime is a teacher.

*2018-10-18, version 1.0.19*

Learn well.

### 5/5 — A Masterfully-Crafted Platformer

*2018-08-11, version 1.0.19*

I had to edit my review as I’d look like a hypocrite now that I actually beat the final boss and 100% the light world, but I do stand by some of my comments regarding the extreme difficulty of the final boss.

That being said, everything else the game does to perfection and I love it. An absolute essential iOS game for anyone who likes really challenging games with a learning curve, as once you learn the mechanics of the controls you will start doing a lot better (that’s what happened to me; yup, I started out awful at the game and I just beat the final boss a few minutes ago - so that just goes to show ya). So I encourage any gamer who enjoys a really polished game that was hand-crafted by guys with a deep love for this game - and it all shows on the screen

Bravo to the Ocmo Team

### 1/5 — Controls

*2020-03-26, version 1.0.19*

The controls prevented me from enjoying the game

Waaayyy to many taps and holds to progress.

### 1/5 — Wildly Frustrating

*2019-08-07, version 1.0.19*

Great, fluid graphics. However, the gameplay is incredibly frustrating. The controls aren’t too hard to understand, but they are nearly impossible to master. The first few levels are fun, but after the first few it becomes very difficult to pass levels. I’ve spent hours trying to pass the first “boss” level and can’t. Overall it could be a very fun game if the levels’ difficulties progressed a little more slowly and had less slime. I don’t have a problem with difficult games, but when the difficulty progresses that quickly while one is still trying to get the hang of the controls and physics, it makes the game no fun.

**Developer response:** Thanks for feedback. The first boss is quite easy once you understand both the controls and the mechanics. Ocmo behaves very differently depending on situation. I would say that a good player can easily pass Forest boss without dying even once. You should give some thought on where and when to tap related to speed and direction. Also keep eye on whether the tentacle is tight or slack. With practice you will understand more. Here is a good example of efficient use of tentacles: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wrnZ6Z92gaA -- If you feel the first boss is too difficult you can explore the other paths and possibly some hidden levels. - - Best regards, Team Ocmo

### 1/5 — Terrible game

*2019-07-24, version 1.0.19*

It is just so frustrating! I tried like 30 minutes and not even passing tutorial round!
And it goes straight to Delete App. Thank you for ruining my night:-(

### 1/5 — Flakey controls

*2017-11-28, version 1.0.13*

It seems like I either have dead spots on my phones digitizer, or this game doesn’t accept all controller inputs in real time. There is also the frustration of your hand blocking the view of your next move.

### 1/5 — DO NOT GET THIS GAME

*2017-11-23, version 1.0.13*

The controls are absolutely terrible if you can complete this game hats off to you because I can not and refuse to play it any more because of how rage inducing the horrendous controls are. Please do not try to play this game it will only cause you anger.

### 2/5 — Great Game Amazing

*2020-11-21, version 1.0.19*

The only problem I have trying to enjoy the game is the controls it very hard to understand how to play an enjoy the experience playing it I keep dying over an over. On future updates could you please make the controls a little more feasible to play other than that that’s the big issue I’m sure for others as well. I will change my review if it gets fixed to play

**Developer response:** Thanks for reaching. The controls wont be changed and are solid once figured out. Changing controls would brake the game for speedrunners. Maybe this video helps a bit with them: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIN0pNRDDuo - - After playing a bit more controls start feeling more natural - One thing that helps early in the game is playing with long rope rather than short. It allows more time for actions as the angular speed is slower when Ocmo reaches maximum speed. Best regards, TeamOcmo

### 2/5 — Not “challenging” so much as “frustrating”

*2019-08-30, version 1.0.19*

Cute game, but it gets much too hard much too fast. Having one fingers control for the four or five different ways of moving and jumping is too difficult, and within the first few boards I found myself dying the exact same way, within the first second or two of the level starting, over and over, 40 or 50 times in a row,. So I deleted the game.

**Developer response:** If you keep dying same way over and over again you need to alter your approach. The game is more about understanding movement than finger precicion.

### 2/5 — Unresponsive controls get frustrating

*2019-07-26, version 1.0.19*

The game doesn’t respond to taps sometimes which leads to a lot of frustration since that is the main way of getting around

### 2/5 — Great style, difficult controls

*2018-11-26, version 1.0.19*

I really wanted to like his game. It's so visually pleasing and the gameplay looks fun and engaging. But I wouldn't really know as I couldn't get past the first level. The controls were so frustrating to use. After dying countless times on the first level due to not tapping and releasing and pressing in the precise way needed to stay alive, I uninstalled the game. I wish the controls were somehow more intuitive and also had a softer learning curve. Did anyone else struggle with this?

**Developer response:** It is disheartening to hear that. Some people have had problems learning the controls but the ones who gave it some time really seem to like it. The controls are very precise and easy once you get used to them. If you can let us know what felt wrong we can try to fix it.

All the Best,
Team Ocmo

### 2/5 — Too fing hard.

*2017-11-29, version 1.0.13*

This game makes feel like a moron. I don’t see how to beat one boss let alone 6. Controls are very, very difficult to get the hang of. Maybe I’m just too old. Regardless, f this game.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Fun but bug makes it unplayable

*2021-09-26, version 1.0.19*

As said fun, controls well. But wen trying to open the app it crashes instantly.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2021-04-05, version 1.0.19*

I noticed it was free and thought it would at least worth the time to download it but it’s so good I wish I had spent a few bucks on it a long time ago!

### 5/5 — Just wow

*2020-09-20, version 1.0.19*

Loved everything about this game. The gameplay, characters, sound, everything.

### 5/5 — Control scheme is fine

*2020-09-01, version 1.0.19*

...once I went back and played the first few levels a handful more times until I mastered them. Levels do a good job of teaching steadily more advanced skills. This game is delightful; I laugh out loud after every level. It really tickles my “sandbox” proclivities.

### 5/5 — Refreshing challenge

*2020-08-09, version 1.0.19*

Finally found a app that doesn’t just hand you a victory. The game is just beautiful. Love the graphics, and the coronavirus Aline-Nina-octopus. There’s actually controls!! Not just a tap, like every other app out there. It’s super fun and meant to flow nicely. Definitely one of my favorite apps of all time, and a must play. Hope there’s plenty of levels.

### 5/5 — Definitely 5 stars

*2020-06-12, version 1.0.19*

I love this game I don’t know why this game has 4.5 stars (as of 2020 June 11th), it should definitely be above 4.8 stars at least.

### 5/5 — All time favorite...

*2020-06-08, version 1.0.19*

Of ALL the games I’ve downloaded in the App Store, this is my favorite. By it’s own nature, Ocmo keeps challenging you to achieve a better time, even if you’ve cleared a level. As well, I feel it helps with hand/finger and eye coordination given the tactics involved to successfully make a good transit time but, it can also be frustrating for beginners (and seasoned players) when trying to get through what seems to be an impossible section... I completed the game and have achieved Top-Ten scores/times on several levels. I have a top score on a few of the levels. IT’s satisfying to get the top score, and frankly, some of the top scores are not only amazing, but seem impossible.

Ocmo can make the trip, but can you do the “Time”??

**Developer response:** Thanks for your review and dedication to the game. Getting to the top times is a worthy achievement. If you wish to discuss Ocmo speedrunning feel free to join our discord - discord.gg/QSpyBtK - best regards TeamOcmo

### 5/5 — Woooow a great challenge

*2020-04-07, version 1.0.19*

I though it was boring at first but just because it was hard. Then I got into the psychic of it and I am a fan now

### 5/5 — Not for Casual Play

*2020-04-04, version 1.0.19*

It’s funny to read people saying the controls aren’t precise. This game is the exact opposite of that. It will punish you for the slightest mistake. This game is not for casual players but if you take the time to learn the movement then it is one of the most satisfying experiences you can have.

### 5/5 — Me

*2019-07-26, version 1.0.19*

This has got to be one of the best games out there. So much fun. Can’t put it down. I hate it yet love it. Challenging and addictive. 👍👍👍
