I just wish that they will bring back the referral money that would make me refer a lot more people. After that, my earnings abruptly stopped, and I was not paid for January despite the tablet being active. Support avoided direct questions for months, gave inconsistent answers, and even said drivers would no longer be compensated — after the fact. They then blamed me by claiming the device was “disconnected” (it wasn’t) and refused to pay what was earned. Instead, I received a $150 invoice for the tablet (in large bold text) while still unpaid. At this point, I’m filing complaints with the FTC, AZ Attorney General, WA Attorney General, and BBB. If you’re a driver, be aware: earnings may not be honored, and resolving issues is difficult. ### 1/5 — Dirty Pool *2026-04-20, version 1.30* Octopus was a great way to entertain passengers while earning a little extra passive income, until they opted to exclude Lyft drivers from earning a few months ago. You can still earn if you drive for Uber, though. (Awkward thumbs up?) imagine my surprise when I use the app to cash out my earnings and suddenly have a fee! Where did that come from? Octopus seemed cool at first; turns out they’re corporate shills like everything else these days. Why am I paying you for you to give me money I already earned from you?🤢 ### 1/5 — Scammer *2026-04-19, version 1.30* At first, it was giving good ratings, but after a while, the ratings became unfair, and it started deducting points. Even though I reported this to support, the support representative was very rude, didn’t respond to me, and just sent me a return label. That’s because they’re really deducting points, and they couldn’t provide an answer. That’s why I’m going to delete the account—I’m done with it. ### 1/5 — Overall experience *2026-02-16, version 1.19* As a driver who’s had the app and tablet long before the journeyTV update and as someone who has accumulated over 10,000 points with the tablet I can personally say the app and overall experience has gone down drastically. This will make the second time my account has not had the accurate number of points added to my account. It stopped correctly adding points as of February 5th. I’ve reached out to support for the second time. The first time they claimed my points were up to date after they magically added 30 points to my account yet I’ve done 154 trips since February 2nd, 2026. So since February 2, 30 points were added then on February 15th it updated again and still shows 162.5 points. So where the other 201 points are I have no idea. But don’t expect help from support because I have screenshots to show trip count from my uber app and screenshots from the octopus app that shows the lack of points being added but you can only send one screenshot with the help ticket. The app is updated and has been. The tablet is on and mounted correctly. My octopus account is linked to my uber account and has been since I got it back in 2024. So I know it’s none of those issues. If the problem isn’t resolved after this support ticket I’ll be sending the tablet back and not referring anyone to use the tablet and I’ll be sure to inform other drivers to carefully watch their points to ensure they too are not being denied the proper points we had earned as part of the agreement with play octopus. It’s been a great experience for most of my riders but honestly I can offer the a better experience with my own tablet based on customer feedback that will result in higher tip payouts if the problem isn’t resolved.
