## What is Odak?

Most screen-time tools are easy to ignore. Odak is a commitment device: you privately choose distracting apps, categories, and websites in Apple’s Screen Time picker, and Odak shields them until you complete the gate you set for yourself.

HOW IT WORKS
• Select distractions in Apple’s private system picker. Apple keeps the underlying identifiers opaque to Odak; inside the app, Apple’s sealed labels can show your selected icons and names without exposing those identities to Odak’s Flutter code.
• Opening a selected app or website brings up Odak’s shield.
• First, take a moment to reconsider. If you continue, the wait grows with repeated attempts that day.
• Take a timed break when you genuinely need access. Odak restores the shield when the break ends.
• Optional paid skips add a real, store-priced stake when waiting is not possible.

HONEST LIMITS
Odak uses Apple’s Family Controls, Managed Settings, and Device Activity frameworks. Apple keeps app identities and raw per-app usage private. Odak can display Apple-rendered labels for your selected items, but it cannot read or use those identities as app data and cannot show raw per-app usage totals on iOS.

A determined user can still remove Odak or revoke Screen Time permission. Odak is a self-chosen commitment tool, not parental control or device management.
