About
Brush away the soil with your finger and dig up minerals. Display what you find in a cabinet that's all your own, polish specimens to a finer grade, and cut spare stones into gems.
DIG
Six dig sites, modeled on places where these stones really turn up: Riverbed Gravel, Geode Canyon, Fossil Cliffs, Old Mine, Gem Gravels and Meteorite Desert.
Trace the little mound, feel the brush catch on stone, and watch rare finds glint through the dirt.
Geodes come out closed. You won't know what's inside until you crack them with a hammer.
COLLECT
68 minerals, gems and fossils: quartz, amethyst, jade, pyrite, fluorite, ruby, rough diamond, ammonites, trilobites, megalodon teeth, meteorites and more.
Every specimen is one of a kind, with its own size, grade (Fair to Museum) and features like double terminations, phantoms and rainbows, and you can see it in the stone. Each find is compared with the ones you already have.
Complete collections such as the twelve birthstones, the quartz family, fossils and stones from the sky to earn titles. "Your goals" on the home screen shows what to aim for next.
POLISH AND CUT
Release spare specimens for shards, then spend shards to polish a specimen by rubbing it with your finger and raise its grade (up to Fine; Superb and Museum grade only come from digging).
When a stone turns up again, cut the spare rough into a gem with one tap. Rubies become ovals, emeralds get an emerald cut, opals a smooth cabochon.
Each cut is graded Fair, Good, Very Good or Excellent. Your gems go in the jewel box: 35 to collect.
Your best specimen of each kind, favorites and displayed pieces are never used.
DISPLAY
Tilt any specimen with your finger to take a closer look. Shine UV light on fluorite, calcite or ruby and watch it glow.
Each case has twelve compartments. Name it, arrange your favorites, and share a picture sized for posts or stories.
Eight case looks: cardboard, paulownia, slate, jewel case, walnut, tin field case, brass-and-glass vitrine and indigo velvet.
Every label has the locality, hardness, formula and a short fact.
DIGS AND PURCHASES
A free dig comes back every hour, up to five. Your first ten digs are free.
You can buy packs of 10 or 70 digs, and case looks. Looks never change the odds.
The finds and odds for every site are shown in the app. If 19 digs in a row at the same site bring nothing rated 3 stars or better, the 20th is guaranteed to be.
No ads. Your finds are stored on your device, and no account is needed.
Specimen images are artwork made for this app; they are not photographs of real specimens.
